Reminds me of 1999 when the rino establishment shoved the other texas governor down our throats.

who would you have rather had in office???????Bush was a president for his time. He handled the 911 crisis as well as ANYONE could have.

"THE TEA PARTY MUST REJECT RICK PERRY!"

I certainly agree with you there. The conversation over on the Tea Party Forums are certainly on fire at this moment. From what I can see the consensus is against Perry. As it should be. If they support just another big government RINO they'll be shooting themselves in the foot. The whole grass roots Tea Party movement is about rejecting not only Democrats but people like Perry, Romney, McCain, etc.

So creating 500,000 jobs in seven years is big government these days?

Yea Perry did this all on his own. Never mind that businesses are leaving CA, IL, NY, and other states in droves heading for the minimum wage labor rate and low corporate tax haven of TX. How long do you think that is going to last. But if you consider going from 4.2% unemployment when Perry took office to 8.2% unemployment now something to crow about hey vote for the man. If you want a man who thinks their is a place for Sharia law in the USA or likes open borders then vote for Perry or Obama whichever you find more appealing. I’ll be voting for someone who has principles and will uphold the constitution of the USA. It goes without saying that person won’t be a Democrat, but if the Republicans nominate a person with those qualifications then I’ll vote for that person. If not I’ll vote Libertarian. But there is now way I’ll be voting for the likes of Perry or Romney. Did that with McCain in 08. Never ever again.

I can see where you are coming from.

Rick Perry is twice as conservative as McCain.

You will be voting for Obama. You might not select his name but a vote for any other is a vote for Obama.

Every recent election has been decided by single digits. I won’t agree with Perry on everything and you will not either, but FACT is FRiend that he will win if he survives the nomination process.

Perry will repeal Obamacare, he will cut regulation and red tape, he will cut gov’t spending, he will honor our allies and friends, he will be respected by our enemies, he will honor our military, he will uphold our basic values, and he will hopefully have a more conservative congress to work with and keep him in check when/if he strays.

It’s our job to monitor him once he is in office. We are in really bad shape and even a time out or a freeze would be a huge improvement over the disaster we have in D.C. To pick one issue (and I agree with you on sharia and immigration) and cast an inconsequential vote neglects the fact that there are 100 important issues.

If Perry had not kept a business friendly atmosphere in Texas, many of those companies would not have gone there. I understand, he has a state legislature that I wish we could replace our congress with, but he still works with them. He even signed legislation he did not want after they passed it.

It’s a long way to the election so keep an open mind and let’s see what happens. However, we must focus on getting rid of Obama and if Perry can do that he has my vote, my money, and my time. I have three little children who are counting on us to get it right. We have a moral obligation as Americans to provide them with the same promise and opportunity we were born with. That promise is fading fast and it will probably be too late for their generation if we give Zero four more years.

“Bush was a president for his time. He handled the 911 crisis as well as ANYONE could have.”

Agreed. It’s like people have totally forgotten that, even on our own side.

Eh, I could quibble, but I dread to think what our response would have been if Gore had been president. Maybe it would have included killing lots of terrorists, but maybe it would have just been more arresting people and agonizing over why jihadis hate us.

So who is it? Who has the support of all the folks here who hate Perry, Romney, Giuliani, Christie, Pawlenty, et al?

Does Michelle Bachmann have your support?

Does Ron Paul have your support?

Is it Palin or nobody?

I’m not trying to be snarky, I really want to know. Because I don’t really see anybody but Palin who gets any support here. Everyone else is just bashed. And that might be one thing, if Palin was actually running, but as of right now she isn’t. And between Bachmann and Perry I’m not sure things would work for her now. And, just for the record, I love Sarah Palin.

Myself, I will vote for whoever has “R” after their name next November and I truly do not care if it is Zippy the Pin Head.

I will not be voting for Obama. That argument is just silly. I can say that those who will be voting for Perry are voting for many of the policies that Obama and more to the point those who control Obama, stand for. Unlike those who will keep sustaining these idiotic policies I will be voting for a true constitutionalist. Beating Obama is meaningless as long as his policies and more importantly those who are actually controlling things remain.

Everybody is under the impression that by beating Obama all their problems will be solved. Obama is just the face of the evil that permeates the 2 main political parties. Do you think this idiot who is our current President has the brain power to do anything on his own. When a cancer patient goes under the knife you must cut out all the cancer or the problem persists. Taking out Obama is only part of the problem, Replacing him with an Obama lite is just plain foolish.

I will be voting with someone who represents my values. Someone who has the values of our forefathers, someone who will abide by the constitution and not cherry pick those laws he’ll abide by and those he will not. You can vote for yet another pretender if you like but it will be you who is voting for the cancer that permeates this country. It won’t matter if Obama or Perry takes the Presidency.

I’ll give you just one of the reasons, that I can’t stand with a pretender like Perry and it is a big one. If you agree with Perry that illegal aliens should be able to attend Texas universities for in state tuition then you agree with Perry, Obama, and millions of other progressives. Forget the fact these illegals will be attending Texas Universities at a special rate. Just why the hell are they even being allowed to attend these universities? What part of ILLEGAL do you and Perry not understand?

When these illegals show up to register they should be arrested and taken back over the border where they belong. We are under invasion from Mexico. Perry, millions of left leaning fools, and YOU by your support of this man, have decided that the laws of this land are subject to whatever you decide they will be. Forget the constitution. Forget the fact that Perry and so many others have SWORN to uphold the LAW OF THE LAND. Perry Swore on a BIBLE that he would follow the laws of this land and then conveniently forgets that vow to a God he claims to put so much faith in. And you tell me I will be voting for Obama.

It will be interesting to see where you stand in the next few weeks when the real facts about Perry start coming out.

I like Bachman, Palin, West, Paul, and Cain. I would love to see a ticket something like this Bachman/Cain or a Bachman/Palin or Palin/Bachman, you get the idea. You have not seen me bash anyone but Romney up to this point. Now you can add Perry to that list. Unlike you I will not be voting for someone just because they have an R after their name.

I am not now nor have I ever been a member of the Republican or the Democratic party. I vote either Republican or Libertarian. I have never voted for or even considered voting for a Democrat. I wouldn’t have a problem voting for the Constitution party. My vote has always been (at 57 I’ve voted in more than a few elections) for those who believe in this nation and it’s Constitution with my only exception being 08 when, God I can’t believe I did it, I voted for McCain. I did it for the same reason you want to vote for Perry or Romney. My wife warned me I would regret that vote. She is so correct. I feel as if I committed a huge sin. I will never again vote anything but my conscience. If my person doesn’t win so be it at least I know I did the right thing by not compromising my principles.

I guess you are having regrets along the line of Glenn Reynolds: They told me if I voted for McCain.....etc.

Just kidding.

Thanks for answering my query.
