Should Palin Run? Powerful (Ruling-Class) Republicans In Iowa, Elsewhere, Say No, No, No
AnkenyPatch.com ^ | August 31, 2011

As Palin remains unannounced about whether she will run, powerful GOP members outside the beltway say they don't want her in the race.

The theatrics and confusion over Sarah Palin's upcoming schedule probably won't help her standing with Republican activists in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, who already overwhelmingly prefer that she not run for president in 2012, according to a survey conducted this past week by The Huffington Post and Patch in the early primary and caucus states.

Palin had previously announced plans to appear at a Tea Party rally in Indianola, Iowa, on Saturday, but that has been put "on hold," according to organizers. Separately, Palin announced new plans to speak to another Tea Party rally in New Hampshire on Labor Day.

Iowa's Tea Party of America announced later today that Palin had reconfirmed and will be in Indianola on Saturday.

Last week, our HuffPost-Patch Power Outsiders poll of influential Republicans in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina found two thirds satisfied with the current crop of candidates and only 8 percent offering Palin when asked who else they would like to see run in a follow-up question.

Power Outsiders is a Patch-Huffington Post project that surveys influential Republicans in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshir

I didn't catch your answer.

How many corrupt politicians has CFR-Ric put away?

Or would that be a conflict of interest?

Right now the RNC is sitting on about $40 Million in cash, when it should be approaching $One Billion for this point in this election cycle.

They don't have enough to fund one Senate race in a medium-sized state.

I predict Sarah Palin will have more than a half Billion less than a month after she announces.

Amazing how the MSM talking points are used by "conservatives" on FR.

The frivolous lawsuits against Palin cost Alaska taxpayers $2 Mil. She left so as not to cost them more. Besides, she had already done EVERYTHING that she had promised to do.

What pundits should be talking about when it comes to Palin

As governor in 2007, Palin was responsible for the largest veto totals in state history, while investing $1 billion in forward-funding education and fulfilling public safety and infrastructure necessities.

Palin reduced spending by 9.5% from 2007 to 2010 and slashed earmark requests by over 80% during her time as governor.

Palin tossed out the corruption-ridden, structurally-flawed Petroleum Profits Tax of the Murkowski administration and put forth ACES (Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share), which incentivized development while seeing to it that Alaskans — resource owners as per the Alaska Constitution — would receive “A CLEAR and EQUITABLE SHARE (ACES) of the value of their commonly-owned oil and gas.” The result? Alaska was left with a $12 billion surplus. Also, as reported at Big Government, “The number of oil companies filing with the Alaska Department of Revenue has doubled, indicating that competition has indeed increased. Alaska has the second most business friendly tax set-up — up two spots since the passage of ACES. Additionally, a report from Governor Parnell’s Department of Revenue indicated that 2009 yielded a record high in oil jobs.”

DJ, I do.

1) She has no clue what foreign policy even means
2) She doesn’t even know what the roll of the VP is
3) She was an idiot in school
4) She is an idiot in economics
5) She has to be coached in all talking points
6) She quit!
7) She thinks we are doing God’s work whenever we go to war = theologically bankrupt.....

Now perhaps you can tell me why she would be so great for this country?

You did not bother to go to the links or read anything. You are simply parroting MSM talking points.

"didn't even do well in school,"

No, ya got that wrong, buddy.

For every grade, elementary school through college, Sarah Palin's grade average was at least 2 points higher than Obama's.

In courses such as economics, she was 3 grades above him.

"what the roll of the VP"

Tell us, Mr. SQUID, what is the roll of the VP?

Or perhaps you meant to say the "role" of the VP?

Wow! Talk about just BEGGING for the Viking Kitties and probably the biggest ZOT to ever occur on FR. This should be fun. Wish I didn’t have to work today so I could stay and watch the fireworks, but I’ll get back to it tonight.

If people ever find out what is really going on with our economy, how bad it really is, with our factories and jobs being moved offshore, with our military being in over 100 countries, then they would realize that only somebody unconventional could ever fix things.

Most of the candidates are not going to fix anything over the next 8 years. There is no way any of the other candidates are really going to make a dimes worth of difference. Eight years from now, we will still be in foreign wars, we will still have trillions more debt, the US dollar will be lower than it is, Communist China will become an economic and military super-power, and unemployment will be high and those good paying jobs won’t be coming back.

Only somebody unconventional like a Sarah Palin or a Ron Paul, or a Donal Trump, with a big red pen, could come in and completely turn us away from the certain disaster that lies ahead of us. Only a VERY unconventional President “could” bring back jobs, eliminate the debt, break up OPEC, face down Red China, and once again make the US dollar as good as gold.

Sarah probably knows that nobody else is going to do the job that needs to be done, but at the same time, I doubt that Sarah being President with Secret Service protection will be good for Sarah’s family.

“Well they already have their candidate. I think his name is Lyndon Baines Perry or Rick Connolly.”

You need to learn your Texas political history better. While LBJ was a flaming lib, John Connally was a conservative Democrat when he was governor (mid/late 60s) at a time when there was virtually no organized GOP in the state. He was as conservative as any governor before or since. He later switched to the GOP and had a brief run for prez.

From wikipedia: “..was reelected in 1964 and 1966 when he obtained 72% of the vote. During his period of office he was associated with increased spending on education and the library system. He is also credited with developing Texas as a tourist destination. Connally, who was a right-wing member of the Democratic Party, was involved in a long-term dispute with the more left-wing Ralph Yarborough..”

So, if you mean to compare Goodhair with John Connally, that would be a plus for Goodhair.

Now tell us who you are gonna be for if Sarah doesn’t run.
