“Day of Rage:” Alinskyites call for pointless mass sleepover on Wall Street

What do they want? They’re not really sure.

When do they want it? For a couple of months, or until the weather gets too cold, anyway.

A bunch of adrift Alinskyites and disorganized organizers from a group called “Adbusters” are converging in New York City for some reason or other. They’re bringing tents, sleeping bags, yoga instructors, face paint — and at some point, they’ll get around to deciding what their “one demand” is:

On Saturday thousands of us will occupy Wall Street. We will wave our signs, unfurl our banners, beat our drums, chant our slogans … and then we’ll get down to business and hold several people’s assemblies to decide what our “one demand” will be.

Shall we demand that President Obama reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act; outlaw flash trading; impose a 1% tax on all financial transactions?

These are good ideas but not very energizing.

How about we demand the revocation of corporate personhood?

Feels a bit too abstract. Many Americans don’t fully grasp what’s at stake with this one. And besides, even if he wants to, President Obama cannot deliver this immediately. In the wake of the recent Supreme Court ruling, a reform project like this requires a constitutional amendment that would take a few years and a whole movement to achieve.

We could demand Obama set up an American Democracy Reform Commission tasked with ending the monied corruption in Washington? Or perhaps a Presidential Commission to rethink the American banking system?

They so badly are romanticizing about having their own Tahrir Square.

You NAILED it about libtards. It’s ALL about the ‘romanticizing’ of a ‘cause’. Pretty sick, really. It’s like they are all ‘date rejects’ from the HS prom. LOL! They’re trying to ‘get back’ at what they consider ‘the beautiful people’.

I hope you are right and it fails. I have my doubts though, it is being funded by soros and it is global. Several Countries *in Solidarity* The list of sponsors has disappeared, but it was full of names from becks diagrams with soros at the helm. better believe ayres has a hand in this, code pink does too, all the leftist slime that worked on the *arab spring*
They do not intend on leaving, alot of them were carrying sleeping bags and that was the plan.
There is another round coming Oct 6 in DC and all state capitols, the 2 are united and I fear we are just watching the beginning. Mon when Wall st is back in business may bring some trouble too. These idiots will be there screaming as people try to get to work. www.usdayofrage.org has quite a bit of info on the plans and other groups involved.Twitter they are using last I saw, #fckwallst
They are reporting that thousands are there, I doubt it, but don't know. They also are disappointed in lsm for no coverage, but think it is because the news would bring more people so they are not going to publicize it?????

You mean they didn’t know it was private property before they organized this thing? *facepalm*

So now they have to ask permission.....how un-Che like.

I wish I had an evil corporation. I would deliver milk and cookies to them with my corporate logo printed on the containers.

They sound like a kindergarden class responding loudly to the teacher. Hard time making outy what they are yelling.
They have ended the *general @ss embly at the park and were heading to wallst to sleep. there was a request in the crawler for people to tweet everyone they know to warn of police sending in a new shift of many officers. apparently
the cops may be blocking the way? I don't know the city at all so i have no clue, but it sounded ominous.

Young lady, I'm not privy to the maggots' plans or diagrams or sponsors.
My little rofl guy was because that particular twit line struck me as quite funny.

Some kind of confrontation is coming with the marxist traitor scum, in that you're correct.
All I need to know about the filth is that they're the enemy of all we're founded on and hold dear.
And they need to be taught the violent lesson that hundreds and hundreds of thousands of us are prepared to defend it.

They'll never co-opt our military, and they'll never co-opt 'US'.
Should they be foolish enough to attempt what they think they want, it will be a bloodbath, and their extinction is assured.
Of that outcome I've not a shadow of a doubt.

'a Republic madam, if you can keep it'

So enjoy your weekend .. logoff FR for awhile .. do something fun .. buy a new toy and take it to the range !

cheers,

Post 34: Excellent observational descriptions.

You just demonstrated better reporting talent that ABC, CNN, NBC, and CBS, combined.

Thank you! I won’t be able to keep up with it tomorrow. I hope someone else will. Much is being said that needs to be understood in these [what they call] first days. I think the guy talking about the constitution got the plug pulled on him because he was getting the cart before the horse. I couldn’t figure out why he was saying the Magna Carta originated with the Spanish. I re-heard his audio, and what he said was there was a Spanish document that preceded the Magna Carta during a whole “global movement”. So I googled. Came up with this link...not sure if it is really that important, but it gives some idea of what these college kids learn from History professors. Bottom line, these people are serious. I just don’t know if they can get the numbers in to accomplish what they plan. We’ll see.

Good one! The police in most major cities are union liberals. These idiot protesters actually think it's 1968 ... forever..

I can't decide if this is funny or a yawn...
