Germany was in the throes of a great depression and economic ruin. It was his promise to restore prosperity, perhaps more than anything, that won him the election.
“Most didn’t even know about it. It was the Evil Man, Hitler, who took their trust and betrayed it.”
Again, many parallels between then and now - BHO promised hope and change, and millions who blindly trusted him now see that they were betrayed.
The rest of us knew it well in advance, and some (as I did) wept for our country on election night.
Indeed.
