The Occupy Wall Street movement (OWS) has captured the imagination of the American left, including our brilliant left leaning media.
To be sure, there is a real movement here. Those on the right simply dismissing these people do so at their own peril. The angst among the American people is real, and is very much similar to the forces that led to the birth of the Tea Party: distrust in government, fear of corruption because of massive federal spending, and politicians complete failure to translate the needs of the people into thoughtful policy.
I am a First Amendment absolutist...unless you are committing a crime, I have no problem in their protests. More power to them. To be sure, there have been some 'excesses' by the OWS protesters, and some violent actions, but overall, I can't say I can call them violent along the lines of the G7 protests in Seattle or multiple left wing European protests. Time will tell if that will change.

I don’t object to people protesting but I object to allowing people to sleep and God knows what else in public parks and places. I can’t believe local ordinances allow this to go on.
The story is correct. These people are angry .
They are angry at the wrong people though. They should be protesting Obama. They are too stupid to figure out who is at fault.
It's not the fault of the local ordinances. I am sure there are regulations & prohibiitions against camping whereever you choose to pitch a tent, or defecating or peeing whereever & whenever you choose to. The problem is the unwillingness of local officials to enforce the ordinances, ESPECIALLY if the perpetrators are any members of the perpertually aggrieved victim classes.... socialists, anarchists, homos, hippies, yippies, race baiters, etc.
Now on the other hand, if the TEA Party was doing this, or Pro-Life protesters, the local officials, all of leftwing mainstream media, and hundreds of union thug cops would be there to bash in the heads of these conservatives protestors.
Plus when you have a RAT bastard commie pig POS SOB like 0dumb0 egging on the Occupy protestors, well, the local ordinances just aren't going to get enforced at all.
The 2nd American Revolution or Civil War II is coming sooner than we think. It is time to keep the powder dry and to remain locked & loaded.
After spending some time at Occupy Portland while on a business trip, I share the sentiments in this article. The people involved are sincerely aggrieved about real problems. Unfortunately, they don’t have a historical clue about solutions. They recognize that the current system has produced some big winners and a lot of big losers, and they have a lot of sympathy for and often empathy with the losers. There are certainly university socialists in the midst, trying to rally them to a leftist approach, but I think the naive kids involved could be easily won over to an individualist, Constitutional approach — if we could convince them of a mechanism to rein the three branches of government (with their corporate symbiotes) back under the authority of the Constitution.
The First Amendment stops where protesters directly, physically, effect the livelihood of business owners. Specifically those who enter a business, break the plumbing, and then demand sewage disposal services.
The right to swing your fist stops at the tip of my nose.
The “Occupy ____ protesters” have nothing in common with the “Taxed Enough Allready” movement within the formerly silent majority in our society.
I, along with every other TEA “party” supporter I know, intend to resolve our nations internal difference of opinions via the ballot box.
And yes, failing to reach an agreeable resolution of our differences via the ballot box, in support of our Constitution, we TEA party people might just “go Gault” in revolt.
What will the anti-capitolist “occupiers” do then?
No free power, no free food, no free clean water, no free internet for a few weeks and all the “occupy ____ people” freak out and start killing each other and their criminal supporters off.
I can deal with that scenario for several months, if “they” really want a revolution, I say let them go for it!
Obviously it does not ever enter into their tiny little minds that they are free to apply to “legally immigrate” into one of the many other failing socialist nations that share their own personal goals,ideals, beliefs and aspirations.
I wonder why they don't ?

And while they are protesting corporate America...maybe they should put down their cell phones, I-pads or pods or what ever device they use.
No tents or port-a-potties either.
These things are “corporate” devices. Be pure to the protest.
The thing that really gets me riled up is the comparison to the TEA party rallies by the left politicians and the media. The TEA Party rallies, had a beginning and an end. They did not disrupt private enterprise or create a dump site at the area. They had a goal..a very successful one. Change the way politics are being conducted.
Most of these people, from what I can see have no cause. If the left politicians, including O, endorse this behavior..it could well backfire on them.
The wisest thing to do is ignore them. If they cause trouble, thump them hard, throw them in jail, demand cash bonds to let them out. If they don’t pay their bonds or fines, give them community service, like cleaning up public park toilets and trash. Other than that, just let them decompose like the smelly, stinking pile of manure they are.

Then the business banned the protesters from the bathroom, since among other problems, someone had ripped sink off the wall.
