Do you like mediocre clothes? Do you enjoy people of the same sex kissing each other? Are you sure? If you say yes to all of these questions, then you may enjoy Benetton's newest ad campaign, in which various leaders from the world are engaged in full lip-locks.
Particularly odd (other than all of them) are a kiss between President Barack Obama and Hugo Chavez, Pope Benedict XVI kissing an Imam, and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu kissing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Here are all of the ads that I am aware of:

TOPICS: Politics

Google Tesslynn O'Cull. They ran an ad campaign featuring that baby's killer AFTER he was put on death row for her rape, torture, and murder.
*uck Benneton and their crap.

Benetton’s goal in all their “campaigns” is to get their name into the news cycle. Mission accomplished here.
Of course I would sooner wear a garbage bag than spend a dime with the company.

I did google that poor child, because I was really shocked at what you said. I had never heard of that case, but internet-wise there are many many references. It was only on page 2 that I found the following link which discusses in some detail this DISGUSTING ad campaign that Benneton ran featuring many death row inmates. Child killers, old lady killers, cop killers, multiple killers, a lovely group of people to celebrate.
I cannot imagine being a friend or relative of one of these victims and seeing their murderer featured in a fashion ad.
This company is even worse than I realized, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I came right to freerepublic to see who would be the first to post a pic of the CEO of Bennetton kissing his/her/its banker. The title of the ad would be “HypoCRASSy”

P.R. tactics don’t always translate into sales. I doubt anyone here is going to be enticed to give Benneton anything but disdain. Now that I know what sort of advertising this company does, I certainly won’t.

They actually sell nice clothes (business to leisure wear), somewhat similar to J Crew. I think they are more popular in Europe but I have seen stores in the US as well.
I don’t see how this “campaign” is going to go over with their clientele, disgusting.

Other marketing campaigns: “These graphic, billboard-sized ads included depictions of a variety of shocking subjects, one of which featured a deathbed scene of a man (AIDS activist David Kirby) dying from AIDS.[5] Others included a bloodied, unwashed newborn baby with umbilical cord still attached, which was highly controversial. This 1991 advert prompted more than 800 complaints to the British Advertising Standards Authority during 1991 and was featured in the reference book Guinness World Records 2000 as ‘Most Controversial Campaign’. Others included a black horse mating over a white one,[6] close-up pictures of tattoos reading “HIV Positive” on the bodies of men and women, a cemetery of many cross-like tombstones, a collage consisting of genitals of persons of various races, a priest and nun about to engage in a romantic kiss, pictures of inmates on death row, an electric chair, an advert showing a boy with hair shaped into the devil’s horns, three different hearts with ‘black’, ‘white’ and ‘yellow’ written onto them (from March 1996), and a picture of a bloodied t-shirt and pants ridden with bullet holes from a soldier killed in the Bosnian War (this one appeared in February 1994).[7] The company’s logo served as the only text accompanying the images in most of these advertisements.”
What is wrong with these people?!??

As you are a lady, I am withdrawing my comment on what he likely did in response and banning myself for at least 3 threads...
My second comment is he sat back and said "It didn't happen like that!"

Because of accidental over-spending in Venice, I had to buy another suitcase and the only one I could find was in the Benetton store. It was multi-colored and super cool. It also cost a fortune and fell apart before I got it home. Plus the pre-teen sales clerks were HORRIBLE!
I also have every issue of the Benetton magazine, "COLORS". Weird, but fascinating. The Benetton founder is a leftist loon.
