I think this was the best debate so far this year. I really like how Newt stood up to defend his stance on immigration. Who do you think won?
POLL: Who won the 11/22/2011 CNN Republican National Security Debate? Vote: Click Here
Without a doubt it was Newt, our former speaker and next president.
lol. You really think thats the only opinion of his that people here don’t like??
I do not like Newt’s answer any more than you do, but do not forget.....those illegals who have been here 25+ years? That whole flood of illegals was started as a result of Ronaldus Magnus’ amnesty in.....1986, I think it was.
Sorry, he supports it just as I think. The fact that someone has been able to carry off a continuing crime is not a reason to allow the criminal to stay. I don’t care what his anchor babies are doing. Leftists, who want to replace real Americans as voters with people from the Third World, and business interests that want cheap labor are counting on stupid sentimentality to carry the day.
New is sounding like Mittens.
I’m done with him. Can’t trust him. He’s so smart, don’t ya kknow. He could turn out to be a closet lib.
No, just deport them.
He's not smart enough to avoid repeating the same mistake Rick Perry made.
Perry = you have no heart.
Newt = you are not humane.
No thanks to both.
It is exactly the moral cowardice of failing to demand that the law be followed that has allowed this situation to develop.
“I thought Santorum and Bachmann shined tonight.”
What did they shine? Did they do a good job? ;-)
Anyone notice during the introductions how Romney walked out like a female model on a pageant runway?
the national composite poll this morning has cain ahead.
I thought Bachmann was impressive.
Cain did fine.
Newt stepped in it.
How could Latino’s, predominantly Catholic, even consider voting for the Abortion Party, but then again how could blacks vote for the Dems which has utterly destroyed the Black Family for more years than I've been alive.
What bothers me is the posters here that yell about the Black Vote we could capture if we bring Cain to the forefront. This is Ludicrous. The Latino Vote is way more significant than the Black Vote we could capture from obummer.
The latino vote could care less about Obama.
From your fingers to our Masters Ears. More importantly is the Youth Vote. The few I have talked to are as stupid as they were in 2008.
Must be all that hydroponic.
They consider him an idiot. They love free stuff but no job ranks alot higher.
No - I know that is only one of them. But foreign policy is the main sticking point between myself and some who I have followed for many years (Rush, Levin, Hannity, some of my Freeper brethren, etc). I ask myself why this is. I have no easy answer. Why would people I admire in all other aspects, turn into statist loving mofos when it comes to hating on Ron Paul?
I am a Judge Napalitono guy, a Ron Paul guy, a Gary Johnson guy. Yeah - I want to leave you alone. Sue me.
Their responses were the most conservative, IMO.
Lets be realistic on this. Not saying I support illegal immigration but we do need to streamline the process and let people in, but make sure they really do become citizens and learn English.
No, we don’t need to let people in until we absorb the ones already here. When we do let people immigrate, the ones that came here illegally should have to wait until every last person on Earth that wants in gets to work through the system legally.
Sounds like you need to chew harder.
“Eyebrows are already falling all over the place...”
Newt dominated...again. In a very weak field, he isthe best. Sigh.
Tomorrow morning is more important and Cain will be down.
Wake up and smell the roses. He is in over his head and it has become obvious.
are they willing to sacrifice their family members to go over to Iraq for Ovpbama?
You think there are any members of the democratic party in the military? I think they are spread mighty thin both in Iraq and Afganistan, perhaps in admin at home bases and in Japan and germany,
Not being humane sounds a lot like being heartless. Hmm.
When Newt says he’s “willing to take the heat” on a position, that means he knows he about to stick it to conservatives and he doesn’t care.
Then I read that Gingrich referred to Spanish as the "language of the ghetto."
Then I read this article which talked about both those facts all in one place.
Neither did I.
Entertainment, NOT a debate. Geeeze!
We all know how Perry's poll numbers played after that comment. I expect the same from Ginrich.
Bachmann is a third tier candidate.... who cares
you’re just jealous because your man perry
crapped all over himself before a domestic and international audience!
You are delusional if you REALLY think that!
Looked like Newt was pandering for Hispanic votes. To Conservatives that I know, 2 issues are paramount: the economy and illegal immigration. Newt truly stepped in it, and has become unsupportable like Romney.
you mean newt won with his “nuanced” words?
1. They come here to steal us blind---they ride the US gravy train with multiple identities which "impoverished" illegals buy for several thousand dollars each. Vote-crazed candidates do not directly address this outrage----probably b/c illegals vote several times each, using forged and faked ID's. Romney came close----addressing the magnet that draws them here...but Perry won't touch it with a ten foot pole since he collapsed over his in-state tution handouts. Neither can be trusted to do what's necessary.......cut out ALL benefits.
2. Illegals have no intention of becoming Americans. They pocket all the US benefits they can get, and want to force their culture on the rest of us. NO candidate EVER questions their loyalties........and the threat this poses to US ntl security.
Do they really care about this country? Do they even understand this country beyond what they can GET from it. Read on.
DID PERRY MAKE A DEAL WITH LA RAZA to place Raza studies (Mexican-American studies) in Texas schools? Raza studies have been taught in Arizona for a decade......then they passed a law against it....but it still goes on
RAZA STUDIES One of the textbooks used is titled Occupied America, which was written by Rodolfo Acuña and includes a speech given by activist and university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez in which he says: We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him, (pg. 323). The book also talks about the need for Mexico to re-take seven states in the Southwestern United States.
The following rather shocking quotes are taken directly from Occupied America (pg. 167):
Supporters would execute all white males over age 16, (also known as the Plan of San Diego).
The Southwest would become a Chicano nation.
In addition to using taxpayer funds to enforce such polarizing beliefs in Latino children in traditional public schools, the organization known as La Raza operates 100 charter schools across the country.
The following is a select list of La Raza charter schools:
-La Academia Semillas del Pueblo (Los Angeles)
-Atzlan Academy (Tucson, AZ)
-Mexicayotl Academy (Nogales, AZ)
-The Dolores Huerta Prepatory High School (Pueblo, CO)
-Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School (St. Paul, MN)
In 2005 alone, $7.9 million in taxpayer funding was given out to these charter schools in the form of U.S. Department of Education grants. These schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the re-conquest of the American Southwest, the establishment of the mythical Atzlan, and even Aztec math.
REFERENCE---WHY IS THIS NOT CONSIDERED AN ACT OF WAR? Five illegal immigrants armed with at least two AK-47 semi-automatic assault rifles were hunting for US Border Patrol agents near a desert watering hole known as Mesquite Seep just north of the Arizona-Mexico border when a firefight erupted and one US agent was killed, records show.
CONCLUSION Looks like Perrys policy of appeasement with Mexico is working fineno Texas border shootings as long as Mexico gets what it wants from Perry: passage of the Dream Act, in-state tuition, Perrys promising no Arizona- type laws in Texas........and so on, and so forth, ad infinitum, ad nauseasum.
today’s composite has cain still within a couple points of romney and gingrich.
I think Cain came across as the loser...he is in waaaay over his head.
I don't dislike Cain! IMO, he is not and never will be POTUS material.
i want a conservative.
bachmann i would vote for, but she has no traction.
santorum has less.
cain’s the remaining conservative.
i’m not voting for a nootie or a romney.
I really like how Newt stood up to defend his stance on immigration.
Newt’s stance on so called “immigration” is indefencible...
Anyone who wants AMNESTY for the illegal aliens is not defending the US...
I don't agree that Cain is all that conservative.
With no voting record, who knows. You have to believe in him on faith. He has had too many awkward moments trying to explain what he meant by what he said.
Just my take and why I've changed my opinion of Cain.
just who do you have in mind?
romney and newt are not conservatives.
my wife and i ardently supported sarah palin. but she’s not running.
time’s running out. some candidates have failed to meet the missouri primary already.
unfortunately cain hangs onto a method of explanation that does not conform to sound bites and invites questions. pelley bit his tongue to stop himself from laughing at cain.
one would think that someone would convince him to change his presentation.
Illegal immigrant are like “cheap energy” for certain US business sectors, plain and simple. That’s why businesses like illegal immigration and the working class hates it (the middle class ends up paying for the healthcare employers of illegals won’t provide).
I can understnad that Newt is trying to throw a pass ahead to the general election, when Hispanics will vote in droves. However, i think he has made a serious mistake. The humane thing to do would be to stand behind law-abiding Americans and people who immigrate to the US through legal channels. Alleviate the already devestating cost of health care for the middle class by ending the “cheap energy” pipeline of human misery and dishonesty.
But from what I now know Newt stepped in fresh dog poop with his STOO-PID™ ILLEGAL stance.
(he's now on my 'Hell No List' with Ricky)
I don't give a Rat's A$$ if they've been here for 25 years or 25 minutes, illegal is ILLEGAL, mr. Newt. As far as 'breaking up families' goes, a Bank Robber or any Felon gets separated all the time from his/her kids even if it's only his first crime and doesn't get caught for years, and even 'finds religion'. When convicted -- Off They Go. It's the same difference.
Plus nobody is saying the family has to be 'broken up'. A spouse can go back to Mexico, or wherever, with their Husband and/or illegal Wife and take their spawn with them. I do believe that Mexico has those 'school thingys' too. And even those colleges and universities.
But what they DON'T HAVE in Mexico is 'FREE GUBMINT WELFARE FOR LIFE'.
Gee, I wonder if that factors into anything? /s
Ach der lieber, you didn't miss much.
There were some entertaining comedic moments....... when Perry pontificated on one of his well-rehearsed, circa 1928 talking points, then loooked out into the crowd, waiting for applause------and heard dead silence.
Nice change of pace. Happened time and time again. Kept waiting for it just to see the look on P-doofus' face. ROTFL.
And get this---Perry even tried a Reaganesque, "There you go again." That cost him bigtime----daring to imitate The Gipper-----one new poll showed Perry at zero %.
Funny how this debate once again has revealed who the illegals apologists are... Both in the debates and on FR.
They violate our borders for one reason----to pocket all the US benefits they can get their greedy hands on, and to become a "voting bloc" to pressure pols for foreign aid and other give aways to their homelands.
NO candidate EVER questions their loyalties........and the threat this poses to US ntl security.
