Ginger White, who today announced that she had a thirteen-year affair with Herman Cain, was the defendant in a libel suit this year. A judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff, Kimberly Bay, and stated that Ms. White had falsely libeled Ms. Bay. Ms. White reportedly lost the suit because she did not even bother responding to the case.
Ms. Bay had also sought a temporary stalking protective order against Ms. White, citing harassing emails, texts, and defamation of character. This case, however, was dismissed.
When asked about the libel suit in her interview with Fox Five, and why she should be trusted, Ms. White responded, "Well, because I admit it. Whatever happened with Kim and I, um, happened. Just as, what, what, there would make no sense to come out with these allegations against Herman if it absolutely wasn't true."

The attorney used the word “accusation”. That is not an admission of guilt.
This statement to me sounds like a hint to a defamation lawsuit.

Based on the number of troll posts following this latest Cain accusation, I’d wager there’s significant movement out there to take him down.
And there’s no reason to expect they’re being honest.

I’m so disappointed. Would love to know what the hell Cain’s attorney was doing today. If I was Mrs. Cain, I would be hiring me a good divorce lawyer.
Why is that? Guilty until proven innocent?
When these ludicrous stories came out about Palin, we laughed them off as left wing attacks and said PROVE IT. Why do so many “conservatives” assume Cain is guilty?
She doesn’t just have “man hands” she’s got “man arms”!
As a public figure under New York Times v. Sullivan, Cain cannot successfully bring a defamation action unless he can show the defendant was motivated by "actual malice".

But Cain DOES have a past with this woman. He has said they were friends, that his wife didn't know her, and that he was helping her financially. That doesn't seem a little odd to you? Cain was keeping in close touch and providing financial assistance to this sketchy woman with a very checkered past. At minimum, he is going to have to explain why. Are you really going to believe him if he just clams up and says "well, it's not true and she can't prove it"? The woman can already prove they were communicating frequently.
Mixed race, I think. She looks a lot like folks in my family.
Either you work for one of the other candidates or have a serious (DSM 4R)mental problem
with Cain.

Would Mr. Cain's chance for a successful defamation action be undermined by a statement denying the accusation, whether from Mr. Wood or from Mr. Cain? How long are Mr. Cain's supporters supposed to wait for a denial?
I want to think the best of Herman Cain. I would like to see him as our standard bearer in 2012, in fact. But the delay makes it look like he's trying to figure out whether he had an affair with this woman or not.
