Don’t ask me right now, I’m sulking. I had such high hopes for Cain.

I certainly agree. I believe Perry’s experience plus his constitutional conservative principles give him the best chance to undo the mess Obama has made.

One thing for sure, with a President Perry, we would never have to worry about what to call a Christmas tree. :)

I was on the “Cain Train” for a short period, but switched my support to Newt a couple of weeks ago. If I had been with Cain today, I would have gone for Newt.

Thanks for the kind words of wisdom.
I will consider your opinions deeply.
keep thinking of what Rush says “conservatism was not on the ticket”... and I find that in the next election we may be facing the same thing.

Good for you. Gingrich has too many tendencies to go Democrat for me to just side up with him.

It all depends, but I am not putting money on anyone’s head right now.

Agreed in the long run. But wouldn't be nice if we just had a few votes cast before eliminating candidates. Like the soon to be running articles, "Everybody that's not polling 15% needs to drop out."

The people need to determine it.

There are many here who will not vote for Romney...ever. Perhaps you are getting bashed by the shills who jumped on FR to bash everyone but those for Romney. Just ignore them. I’m still hoping we get a conservative candidate.

“Cain was Obama’s worst nightmare”

You are correct so we best proceed from the position that it was the Chicago machine that hit Cain. Until it is proven otherwise view the rest of the conservatives without any Cain related malice. Pick whom you think best and say why so that all of us have food for thought. This is where FR really shines.

Yes, I also think it was the Chicago machine, meaning the 3rd generation Stalinist Axelrod & Co., because they hit him so early, without waiting for the convention and nomination. They wuz scared shiitake-less!

Are you planning on excluding the Ron Paul votes at the Iowa Caucus?

No. The Ron Paul groupie counts don't change, regardless of the entry or exit of other candidates.

The purpose of this poll was to assess the change in other candidate percentages due to the exit of Herman Cain.

No-one for President. Leave the office empty for four years.

Well, I don't know. It's already been empty for three years. Don't you think it's time we hired a president again?

I’m still sticking with my original idea of just “writing-in” Sarah Palin’s name.

You and me, both. She was my first choice, and it looks like I'll be voting for her after all. At least I'll walk away from the voting booth with my personal integrity intact.

I'm done voting for Same Old Same Old.

Perry/Palin

???

Perry isn't qualified to carry Sarah's laptop.

Keep dreaming. She'll never run as his VP, nor anyone else's. She's already stated that.

...we can’t seem to nominate someone who (among other desired qualities) possesses the ability to LEAD and rise naturally above the field.

Well, that’s my opinion.

It's a spot-on opinion, and I'll bet that a plurality of conservatives agree with everything you said.

I do.

Thats the Problem, you have a lot of People running around like chickens with their heads cut off and cant decide on a Candidate.all of these people are pathetic in some shape or form and the biggest Ass is sitting in the White House with a Billion dollars. So there is no tea party but there is a Marxist regime with a BIG organization behind him,so Good Luck

I’m not against the idea of tea parties across the nation holding some kind of endorsement convention, even one that is geographically dispersed and maybe linked by video conferencing. Might be a good idea. I don’t know. Seems like it would take a lot of organizational effort with the possibility of no strong concrete result.

I was infuriated when I learned about that. That is just the sort of horrible manifestation of Obama Marxism that a President Perry would go after and work to abolish beginning on Day One.

According to the NBC poll in Iowa, Ron Paul picked up 2%, Newt picked up 2%, Romney picked up 1%.
