On Nov. 21, Fernando Rivas, 59, an award-winning composer for “Sesame Street,” was arraigned on charges of coercing a child “to engage in sexually explicit conduct” in South Carolina. The Juilliard-trained composer was also charged with production and distribution of child pornography.

“An Ode to those PBS leeches!”

I am somewhat ashamed to admit that I was a real PBS fan
25 years ago.
My wife at the time donated her art work for the local fund drives.
An old friend of mine was the chief engineer for the local affiliate.

I think at that time they were not so open about their
Marxist ideology.
Gosh, were the “Car Guys” really Marx and Lenin in drag?

Me too. I used to like Bob Edwards' chats with Red Barber and the interviews with authors I hadn't heard of before. That was a long time ago....

I was also a PBS fan many years ago. It was the only source for commercial free content. My favorites at the time were Nova and At the Movies. I had no idea that the shows were anything but just plain old interesting science and reviews....boy, was I ever wrong!

I find myself watching a lot more PBS these days, now that Discovery Channel, History Channel, even National Geographic have become the 24-7 redneck/biker network.

Nova: Global Warming Disaster: How Long Do We Have?
At the Movies: Critics slam conservative Atlas Shrugs because it references actual societal decline.

I dunno about ice road bikers, but my new Gsat has a program, I think on my History channel, or Natl. Geo.
It is “Ice Road Truckers” covering the two lane highway up to Prudhoe Bay.
It is quite interesting, but once you have watched it several times, the rest is repetitive.
It is amazing to see all that has to go many miles or so on an ice covered highway. I read that it is about 200 vehicles per day, most being 18 wheelers

It truly is a great documentary. I love the trucker personalities more than the ice. They are a hoot.
