WAUKEE, IOWA - You know a candidate is having an interesting day on the trail when he starts out in an evangelical megachurch, testifying to his faith, and ends up in a college-town coffee shop being yelled at by a professor of Queer Studies. For Rick Perry, that was Sunday in Iowa.

Anyone else getting sick and tired of “queer studies professors” and other similarly credientialed minions being given the time of day.

I remember a time when we called such folk “Reprobate”—or
“Sodomite” -or anything but respectable. Reckon the only reason the perfesser yelled at the candidate was such elite folk seem to expect the back door to always be open to them.I reckon the yell was a jack braying its surprise.
