[ It’s interesting that your French and Spanish facility has not yet been fully recovered.... I wonder why. ]

Interesting eh!... I remember a few words but almost zero grammar..

Yet.. I never lost my english grammar.. or vocabulary..
but I never spoke or used much other than english.. in a practical way..

I could write but not speak... this has ramifications..
Those that cannot speak well may be able to think well..
Meaning ideas may not based in the “brain”...

Maybe some idiots can be very smart and
some morons are not so dumb.. as they appear..

p.s.: I forgot to add that I'm delighted your dog was helpful to you in your recovery process. I gather this was not "news" to your dog....

Some of the higher animals seem to have an awareness of what constitutes "helpful" behavior towards humans. Dogs and horses come to mind; cats don't (at least not so far, on my experience).

Be that as it may. I was struck by your description of stroke and recovery, as somehow involving some kind of reconciliation between "word" and "machine." I find your insight profound, dear brother in Christ.

You came up with the analogy of "message" and "telephone." In the light of that, I've come to think through another analogy, "software" and "hardware."

Interesting implications flow therefrom. The first being that the two propositions — message + telephone and software + hardware are not equal terms.

Arrgghhh! I'm getting carried away, dear brother in Christ! Must stop for now and go watch football.

Indeed, I am avid to watch, not only the Saints vs. Forty-Niners game, but my own team — the Patriots — go up against the Denver Broncos tonight.

Pass the popcorn please!

I hope we can compare notes later, dear hosepipe!!!

Popcorn makes me think of a human “NEED” for entertainment..
The imagination of entertainment overlayed by language and culture is a rich mix..

Children having not much knowledge at first start developing their imaginations.. with “glee”..

Impacting the mind versus machine meme..
Jesus upon the Apostles argueing said, “you must become as a child to enter “heaven”.. i.e. imagination..

If God is not your invisible friend then what is he?...
Humans do have all sorts of imaginary ideas and reality’s..
Beyond the God concept..

I still buy into the “Donkey / Donkey rider” meme of mine..
Which is just another way of saying man versus machine..

Entertainment plus a rich imagination or vice versa trumps age..
What is really important sometimes escapes some humans realities..
They easily forget who is in change the donkey or the donkey rider..
Look what Jackie Evancho has done harnessing her donkey to her imagination!..

Now...... THATS entertaining..
