Skip to comments.Christie Warns he'll return "Jersey Style" if Iowans don't vote Romney (WTF?)

Playing off his persona as a New Jersey tough guy, Christie issued a mock warning.
"New Jersey's watching you
We're watching you real closely," he said. "And I want to tell you something. I want to tell you something really clearly. I'm in a good mood this morning. I'm feeling happy and upbeat. I'm happy to be with Mitt and Ann. But let me tell ya, if you people disappoint me Tuesday, if you don't do what you're supposed to do on Tuesday for Mitt Romney. I will be back, Jersey-style."

Or does Jersey style mean Christie goes on MTV and starts mouthing off expletives at the other candidates a la Snooki.
Whatever it is, it sure sounds like more RINO stuff.
Ogod, no threesome images, puleeze!
He’s joking I’m sure.
He supports Romney, that’s his right.
Let’s keep our sense of humour during this election cycle.
What a Maroon..
Real Mobsters don’t boast.
So Christie will start dating Snookie and spend all his time GTL (Gym, Tan, Laundry)?
I heard the audio of his comments and thought them very inappropriate. The implied thug-ism is something we do not need in politics. We already have too much of it from ‘across the aisle’.
What he really meant to say was that he was going to raid their refrigerators if they don’t vote for Romney.
There ain’t enough sun to tan that bad boy.
Romney’s entire campaign is like it’s from “across the aisle”.
Saul Alinsky tactics. Media control. An elitist group of self-interested oligarcy.
American interests second, after their own power.
Nothing inconsistent at all. The GOP establishment is almost identical to the democrats.
I’m sure Christie *meant* to be humorous, but seems not to have a grasp on Midwesterners who find nothing funny about the whole NJ/mafia thing and are happy to be 1000 miles away from the Garden State.
I would think that a guy with a name like Santorum would be able to find more goodfellas to take care of business than a guy named Christie.
Sounds like a threat to me.
Shame on Christie and Team Romney.
Backstabbers to the end.
Bring it, Fatboy! I’ll be waiting.
he was most likely involved in directing Brad Brewster and Lorna O'Hara to start the dismantling of the Herman Cain campaign
That's MSNBC-level "reportage" right there.
I'm sure he was joking...problem is, it wasn't funny.
RINOs, all pumped up with synthol, strutting and flexing.
Just what we need...The Tubby Terminator from Trenton.
Isn't it enough for those of Italian decent to live certain "tings" down?
Lorna was most likely the woman who started the whole sexual harrassment allegations against Herman. She didn’t come forward because she knew the place she worked at (PPAG), along with her boss Brad Brewster (Christy-guy, Political Television guy on CN8 in Philiadelphia and Romney’s New Jersey Campaign co-chair) would show their obvious ties to Romney.
Politico gave just enough information in the description of her for me to identify her. After I sent a note to Jonathan Martin telling him I knew who she was and asked him when they were going to report the “rest of the story”, her bio page removed any mention of her employment at the National Restaurant Association. Fortunately, I’ve got the cached pages.
So yeah, maybe my sense of humor is lacking here, because I see Christie and the people who work around him as a bunch of thugs. But maybe that’s just me.
Hey Butterball, you might intimidate a bunch of limp-wristed schoolteachers with your mouth, but don’t go trying that with conservatives.
Jersey style for him just means he’ll go to Des Moines munching on a Scooter Pie.
Christie is literally a northeastern RINO slob. And that’s being nice.
That’s because he’s from New Jersey.
This former Iowa farm-boy welcomes this “jersey style”. Things can get “disapearred” in the country too....
Christie has come in just under the wire, but he’s managed to make the list of 2011’s dumbest comments.
Thanks Chris for a doofus comment.
Hopeless, yeah. Changeless? No, but all bad.
Not to mention, every time he lays out on the beach, Greenpeace shows up and tries to shove him back in the water.
AHA! Christie running for veep - the crappy creep.
Eff Christie, he’s just another NE lib. He might be conservative by Jersey standards, but that doesn’t count outside his limited area
Something tells me that this uncouth tactic is going to backfire in the heartland.
I get the impression you're pretty easily offended. Lighten up. I don't agree with his endorsement of Romney, but I can tell he's joking.
Cheeseburger on a Krispy Kreme
Des Moine has good ones
Another damned fake republican.
That man is eating NJ alive. I worry he will appear at my door wanting to eat my horses. I don’t think he likes horses too much either. And I voted for this silly man? UGH!
Christie should focus on not dying of a heart attack in the next year from being obese.
From 0bozo to Mutt - from Hopeless to Hapless. Great advice, Chris! /s
Very true! I still have issues with the fact he wanted to close race tracks which would have meant even more job losses in my state. These comments he has made make NJ look bad & he is a big mouth who is a disgrace.
I don’t see what he has done here in NJ, its worse then ever.
Which means he'll be returning in an '87 Camaro with a head full of Aqua Net and Slippery When Wet cranking on the tape deck. God help Iowa.
More like doggie style. Whaaaaaat.
You can’t be serious; he’s playing up to what he has been portrayed as in the NJ media since he dared to take on the teachers’ cartels in NJ (and won).
He’s not perfect, but Christie’s better than most of the Republican slate so far, and is probably the only reason NJ doesn’t look like Detroit right now. Oh, and he has a sense of humor, too.
“I dont see what he has done here in NJ, its worse then ever.”
He has capped our property taxes, which had literally been increasing $400-$500 per year while the towns ran to sh!t, while ending the “state aid” to make up the municipal shortfalls as had been done in the past (which just increased the state’s debt). This in turn has forced towns to cut spending; do you think the mass layoffs would have happened under a Dem in NJ? Who do you think was paying for the police forces and schools of Camden, Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, and Trenton? We were, and now they’ve all been cut back.
“I really have no problem with Christie’s humor here. People need to lighten up”
Who would have ever believed you’d see such pathetic feigned sensitivity on Free Republic?
You can toot his horn. I don’t like the man. I didn’t like Corslime either. And I got sick of having to share other town’s building inspectors. Before I moved our town laid off inspectors & shared them with other towns. It caused mass confusion & put people out of work. I thought the idea was to keep people off welfare? And where I live now almost every day I hear of casinos laying off more people. Where is the big plan to make Atlantic City a great place again & draw in lots of tourist money? And his idea to close the tracks? Well if you were involved in horses as I am you would know just how many people would have lost their farms, businesses & jobs. Thankfully it was able to be worked out. I still am recalling being snowed in while he & our Lieutenant Governor were vacationing. Feel free to like him, I wouldn’t vote for him again. And his comments show he is a clown. Since he is for Mitt it makes me dislike him more. Have a nice night.
You don’t have to like him; as with W I’m just glad he’s there instead of the Dem alternative.
I hope things look up in your area; they’re pretty grim up here, but could be worse. This is the first year my taxes have’t gone up noticeably in the 10+ years I’ve owned my home.
I totally agree with you. But I live dangerously close to Chicago and I don’t trust any of ‘em.
All it takes to be corrupted is to run for office.
