CA lawmakers in Iowa to boost Rick Perry; watch new “pig” attack ad blistering Santorum
Houston Chronicle ^ | January 2, 2012

With less than 48 hours until Iowans kick off the GOP caucuses, a crowd of California lawmakers have joined Steve Forbes, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and other supporters making a final push for Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

California Assemblymembers Dan Logue, Shannon Grove, Brian Jones and Curt Hagman have all hit the ground in the Hawkeye State Iowa Monday, ready for duty.

Logue, in a phone interview, just told us that “Iowa is going to do well for Perry — and this is just the first step of many steps.”

Calling FReepers in good standing ‘sleeper commies’ can result in a very short stay for you here. I suggest backing off quickly.

And did you know Bobby Jindal is up there in IA with Perry today, helping him get his message out?

I did not know Rick Perry had ever set immigration policy!

OK, I’ll back off quickly, after ten years here everyday.

So Rick Perry is arguing that he would never have voted to increase the budget debt ceiling during Santorum's years in office (1994-2006)? Damn straight, I'm going to reply, but it ain't gonna be whining:

Rick Perry is Mitt Romney's tool.

What else could explain why he's constantly going after all of Romney's opponents? Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, now Rick Santorum. Never the front-runner; only ever the challengers. Someone's trying for the old Massachusetts-Texas alliance.

But why would Rick Perry support a liberal from Massachusetts? Because he's an old-fashioned, unreconstructed totalitarian liberal, like Lyndon Johnson, and his personal hero, Al Gore.

Well put, CW. And if a Perry supporter is launching flying attack monkeys at MM I think she needs to report it to law enforcement. I want to go on the record as personally condemning any monkey attacks being carried out on Perry’s behalf.

Perry was the first candidate to take it to Romney.

And I honestly don't think you're the same txhurl who claimed to be a conservative all these years.

You see, I gave up the blind loyalty to the almighty (R) back in 2006.

I've had enough of Texas politicians claiming to be one thing, then being quite the opposite.

I’ve been reading this thread and the “Dippity-Do” comment made me laugh out loud.

I’m sorry that you had to endure the other stuff. Things are a little...tense..around here lately, lol.

Correction: Perry did run one attack ad at least on Romney... over an issue everyone already knew about: Obamacare. But check out the way that the two words that are played with in the ad are “Care” and “Believe” Seriously, Rick Perry’s “attack ad” on Mitt Romney leaves you with the message, “Mitt Romney... Believe” with a voice saying, “He’s right.”

Did you have any comment on Bobby Jindal being in IA with Perry today?

A Southern Conservative Governor?

Perry has run one of the worst campaigns in recent history. He’s a joke of a candidate with a joke of a campaign. He’s going nowhere. You know it, I know it and anyone with a modicum of sense knows it.

...and Perry spent over 1 M dollars at taxpayer expense on personal security while he campaigns in double dipping status. Yeah, the joke's on us in Texas once again.

What the heck do you know?

I know "THE ADMINISTRATION" didn't cause Perry to call conservatives 'heartless'.

I know "THE ADMINISTRATION" didn't cause Perry to make a complete fool of himself in nearly every debate.

I know "THE ADMINISTRATION" doesn't prevent Perry from constructing a cogent sentence.

I know "THE ADMINISTRATION" isn't responsible for Perry's decade-long career of pandering to ILLEGAL aliens.

I know "THE ADMINISTRATION" isn't responsible for Perry's Gardasil debacle, an issue that his supporters love to dismiss as meaningless but one that turned many conservatives against him.

I know "THE ADMINISTRATION" isn't responsible for Perry's disastrous campaign, one of the worst in recent history.

But you're right, what the heck do I know.

Good for Bobby. He can support anyone he likes. As I’ve stated several times on FR, endorsements have no affect on who I will support. For example, if Palin supports Trump, she can take a hike.

If Perry is an idiot, what does that make the governors of the other 49 states?

None have done a better job of running their state...inspite of Obama throwing everything he has to hurt Texas!

Good point TADSLOS. I doubt Perry cares that taxpayers are subsidizing his losing campaign. He doesn't care that they subsidize the college educations of ILLEGAL aliens.

Where did FR get these sleeper commies?

rintense is not a commie, nor are the others that you're randomly accusing. Good job at hurling unwarranted personal attacks. I suggest you knock it off. We're all on the same side here.

But you're not if you're going to post nasty insults about your fellow freepers.
