Mitt Romney is a loser...an election loser.
In his 1994 senatorial campaign, he lost by a huge margin (by more than 17 points) in a year when Republicans took over Congress. Despite everyone else’s success, Romney managed to lose.
Of all his campaigns he has won only once when he won a single term as governor of Massachusetts, but he quickly tarnished that close victory.
After becoming governor in 2002 with Kerry Healey as his running mate, Romney proceeded to mismanage his position so that his approval dropped rapidly into the 40's and then the 30's. He left that mess to Lt Gov Kerry Healey when he jumped ship to avoid the huge loss he knew was coming in the next election. Left in the lurch, Healey was not able to rebound above 36% due to Romney's terrible performance as governor.
With no thought to his poor performance, Romney then entered the 2008 campaign for the presidency on the strength of a losing senatorial campaign and a destroyed governorship.
He lost again miserably against inept, weak John McCain. McCain more than DOUBLED Romney's numbers by attacking Romney’s flip-flop record as a tax increaser.
The summation of Romney's election history: he tends to lose. Yet Romney is the man we are told is "the most electable".
His election record says that is simply a falsehood.
Add to his history of losing his political record as a flip-flopper, as a vulture capitalist, and as an advocate of liberal, pro-tax, pro-choice and anti-gun causes, and it's easy to see that the man will continue to be a loser....of elections.
We cannot afford to watch Romney get taken to the woodshed by Barack Hussein Obama.
Here’s the facts:
Romney won Iowa by 8 votes (if he won at all)
NH is one of his home states
Both states allow independent/rats crossover and vote
Both states will have delegates divided (No winner take all till later this spring)
AND YET
The MSM says Mitt has won.*
Fly over country gets screwed again.
Everyone knows the truth.
We are at the flash point.
But if there is ANY chance the "Conservatives", the "Republicans"can elect a POTUS who will continue the BS long enough for them to grab all they can, they will vote for Romney.
There is no doubt in my mind the that republican establishment wants to maintain the status quo, that they are not just content with socialist lite, but that they are intentionally pushing in that direction.
Hoosiermama, I heard one talking head on Fox this morning trying to make the case that Romney is inevitable and everyone should just accept it.
Amazing.
Why in the world would conservatives want to nominate someone who is sure to lose against Obama.
Newt has done conservatism a huge favor.
He is a manufactured wax figurine - like Gore - Stupid smile and a smug grin that never changes. And dangerous like a demon clown.

The three conservatives are dividing the ABM vote. We are our own worse enemies.
Newt, Rick, Rick....two needs to step back give their support to the third. Knowing they’ll be part of the team: VP, AG, Cabinet position...
Think what a conservative team pushing toward the same goal could accomplish.

If the big 3 conservatives could agree which would go forward, their numbers would bury everyone in South Carolina and florida and would have done so in Iowa.
I wish they’d meet and make an adult decision.
Romney loses elections. It’s what he does.

And that is exactly why they are pushing his "inevitability" so hard. We know what the media wants, but one also has to wonder if the GOP actually wants to lose as well.
It only defies logic, if you believe that every Republican voter is as well informed as average Freepers are. They're not.
I talk to staunch conservative friends every day on Facebook, who (astonishingly) have no idea how bad Romney's record in office really is. I'm doing my utmost to bring these people up to speed before they do the unthinkable, and vote for him in the primary.
I do believe Romney would be a disaster if he's the nominee. As my wife says, "we didn't want him over that goof McCain, so what's changed?"
I think the moderate Pubs figure the "independents" will help get him elected. I don't think so. obama and the media will make him out to be an elitist money grubber who only destroys jobs. The social conservatives will not be enthusiastic and at least 12% of the base has indicated they won't vote for Romney no matter what.
In the end our candidate has to give the public a reason to vote for him in addition to voting against obama.

Not sure it’s what they want — but they are sort of like liberals who continue to dream of their “utopia” which will NEVER materialize. Same goes for republicans who dream of a “moderate” right of center world — one that really doesn’t exist.
They want to have their cake and eat it, too. Many are fiscal conservatives, but liberal on social issues. Many are just plain elitist SNOBS who can’t deal with far right social conservatives and just everyday hardworking taxpaying Americans.
I thought only McCain did that!
I just had dinner with some good friends that are Romney supporters. Their heads just about exploded when I tried to explain I can't vote for him no matter what and I know a lot of pro-life Christians that feel the same way. From their perspective they think Christianity is a joke and they are only fiscal conservatives. For them it's all about getting rid of obama and we should not consider our beliefs.
I see that Halley Barbour endorsed mit. Good, because he's in trouble for freeing murders. I hope he's on stage with him.

From what I’ve read of George Romney, Mitt’s father it seems to me as though Willard the last of the Romney offspring is seeking to better his Father’s legacy.
Mitt Romney I think seeks the Presidency for all the wrong reasons at a precarious time in the history of the U.S.A.
We don’t need a President wanting to be President, because his Father didn’t become the President. We need a leader that wants to be President, because he see’s, and understands the problems of today, and has the ability to lead this Nation out of the mire, and back to its greatness.
This opinion was formed upon reading Mitt’s Father’s Bio, and reflecting on certain similarities, and failures.
My recollection of the 2006 MA gubernatorial election... Romney’s fault: he didn’t actively support Lt. Governor Healey, the R candidate. I also think he and the MA Republican Party dropped the ball when they gave Christy Mihos problems with ballot access. Angered, Mihos ran as an independent. He spent the debates attacking Healey, letting Deval Patrick basically standing and smiling on the various stages. Perhaps Romney could have exercised more oversight over the Republic Party’s nominating squabble and more actively campaigned for Ms. Healey.
It’s an example of how disengaged Mr. Romney can be from the fortunes of his party.
