Thanks for the post on this! And I thank the Lord that I am an American (of the old kind). What a privilege to share the same country with honorable warriors like Allen West (see his biography -- 3 yr stint with the Corps at Lejeune) and the USMC.

This brings to thought though -- were there ever foes in Afghanistan such as those described by Rudyard Kipling? Certainly not the Taliban --

"Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet, Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat; But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth, When two strong men stand face to face, tho' they come from the ends of the earth!"

As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.

That was a foolish remark.

I definitely agree with you about it being a foolish remark.

But I am sure we don’t agree with why I think it was foolish.

He just singled out the Taliwhackers.

He should have included ALL the enemies, Nazi’s, Japs, North Koreans, VC and any and all sympathizers the above and other groups had.
And if I mistakingly left out ‘your’ group, I am sorry.

Troops have been saying ‘piss on ______ forever’.

These guys (foolishly) acted on it.

In fact, for ALL those that promised to ‘piss on my grave’, be advised I intend on being buried at sea so just walk on out and do it.
