In the unlikely event of an armed conflict between the U.S. and Canada, on which side would you fight?
Ha - as a 13 year U.S. Army Infantry vet, on what side do you think I’d fight?
Would you expect me to be comfortable with having you in the same foxhole?
I have no idea if you’d be comfortable having me in the same foxhole. Since I was both Soldier of the Year for the state of CT in 1993 and NCO of the Year for the state in 1994, you probably /should/ be comfortable. I’m a high speed, low drag piece of twisted steel. Maybe I should be wondering how comfortable I’d be having your REMF-arse in MINE. ;-)
What explains the asymmetry in how you describe your parents? Haven’t your mother’s family been Canadians for generations?
No - my mother’s family was actually Ukrainian in origin.
Is it your upbringing that makes you identify as an American citizen?
Partially. Partially because I was born in the USA and have always lived here. I’m all-American to the core.
What do you think Obama’s upbringing has done for him?
We all know that HE hates this country.
Do you not see some legitimate reasons for our Founders to have insisted that our President not be burdened with divided loyalties?
I have none.
Had your mother been multi-generation Canadian, how comfortable would her extended family be to have you in their Canadian foxhole?
Why require the President to be a citizen at all if his loyalties are not subject to question and no minimum requirement is established?
