Screw You! I am Outta Here G.O.P. [Reader Post]

To whomever this may concern

It’s been a relationship that has been on the skids since 2010. I tried to make it work, but after I saw that I was the only one making any concessions in our waning relationship I realized that you no longer considered our relationship worth saving. Instead of wasting each other’s time let me just pack up my vote and get the hell out of here. Goodbye Republican Party. It was fun while it lasted.

Mike Henkins

Whew! That felt good! I have been wanting to write that letter for a while now. I can’t believe I waited this long! I should have done it right after the election in November 2010. I knew then that it was over then but I was hoping things would change, but it didn’t. The Republican Party has done nothing but insult me and my Tea Party friends. I mean look! These bastards are going after Allen West now! Allen freakin’ West man! You know what really jumps my tracks? These same Sons of Bushs are the first ones to cry about the need for “party unity”. Un-flippin-real!

I will tell you what’s going to happen. If Romney gets the nomination they are going to come to us at first with hat in hand asking for our time and money to “help defeat Obama.” When we roll our eyes and slam the door in their faces, they will tell us they don’t need us anyway, their new best buds, the Independents, will help out. After they realize that the precious Independent voter isn’t going to waste their time helping out, they will be back again.

If it comes down to a choice between Obama and Romney, I suggest that instead of sitting out the election, Tea Partiers go to the polls and vote for TP-blessed congressional candidates, then vote for either the Libertarian or Prohibitionist presidential candidate (depending on whether the Tea Partier is a libertarian or social conservative).

That would send a pretty unmistakable message to both major parties without doing as much damage to the country as ceding the entire election to the Dems.

I liked Forbes also, but the rest of the field was weak. It just seems odd to me to blame that on Dole himself.

I’ve been mentally composing my own letter. I’ve been republican for almost 50 years but I now find myself fighting the RNC at least as much as fighting the democrats.

By trying to take out the Tea Party faction, the Republican elites have signed the GOP’s death warrant. I for one, will stay home.

I’d go back to the Nelson Rockefeller days...

As a resident of Fun City, Nelson Rockefeller, Jacob Javits and John V. Lindsay were the reasons I registered as "independent" when first allowed to vote in '66. Almost joined the GOP in the 80's, but there was this Bush thing....

I completely understand where you are coming from. I was just as disgusted when they foisted McCain & Dole on us. If you do not vote for whichever RINO they nominate, I can understand it. In my own case, I hate so much what Obama is doing, I will vote against him no matter how bad is the GOP nominee.

Ya know, once they realize that we “cost” them this or that election, you’d think they’d quit their bitchin’ and figure out what they have to do to bring us back into the fold.
‘Cause were sure as hell not going to let them take our votes for granted?
Who else am I going to vote for? Try “I can alway leave the line blank.”

I will vote on election day for whomever the GOP candidate is. I would rather we have our own evil, than the dim’s evil. I pray that the eventual GOP candidate is NOT Romney, but I refuse to cast a vote for Obozo by either not voting or voting some turd party hack.

tell me what issues just 5 of them are different from Romney and obama.
Hell when Soros is saying they are the same then we know Romney must be bad.

Romney”obamacare was bad”
Obama” what are you on about you did the blueprints for us.

There is no difference between either of them except different people getting kickbacks and pay offs and invited tot he white house

so who are you voting for then Romney?

We expected this weeks ago that some will start to come on here near the end of FL and tell us we have to be with each other to defeat obama.

NOT GOING TO WORK THIS TIME REGARDLESS OF WHO GETS OUT ON THE VP TICKET

been there done that, no more, fool me once etc

You tell the RNC and Romney he will not be getting the base in our state of FL or other swing states and if he looses then tough crap, maybe the RNC, GOP might actually care about conservatives next time.

The establishment really thinks that all they have to do is to put a VP ticket there and we’ll come running with our votes and support, no more

Well, I will vote in the local.state, and Congressional races. The way it stands right now I plan to write in Sarah Palin because I believe that by hook or by crook the Establishment Republicans are going to see to it that Romney will be the Republican nominee. That means four more years of obama but the Republicans already know that.

For the life of me, I cannot understand those who say that Rommney can beat obama when he could not even beat John Mc Cain and obama beat McCain.

The GOP telling us to come together and vote for Mittens to fight BOzo is like sixes telling us to come together to fight the half dozens.

The establishment GOP camp doesn’t have a few well-placed traitorous whores in it, it’s a camp full of traitorous whores. It’s amazing to still read stuff like “They keep shooting themselves in the foot” or “They’re stupid” when it comes to the Rep Party. They may be stupid but it’s not because they’re making unintended mistakes and they’re not shooting themselves in the foot, they’re stabbing you in the back. They’re not on your side. Wake up.

Some came to the conclusion a lot faster. 2008, 2010, or even earlier. Others may take a few more cycles to finally realize it.

Me? I was very slow, but even I have had enough. 2010 election decided for me.

Who do you think should’ve gotten the nomination over Dole? Just curious.

As I recall we had Dole, Alexander, Buchanan, Forbes, I think Phil Gramm was in for a while and Alan Keyes as well.
Pretty slim pickings, given Bob Doles huge name recognition from having run twice before. (sounds kinda like Mitt)
He was 'picked' before the primaries even really started. Forbes and Buchanan tried, but it was uphill all the way and the establishment had chosen...
Personally I liked Keyes, then forbes, then buchanan then dole...but...I was in Nebraska at the time and by the time May rolled around...the choosing was all but done.
