"It’s true our side needs to focus on staying on message. That doesn’t preclude addressing social issues."

I agree. But it takes an adept communicator to turn the debate to the subject you wish to debate.

http://www.uscatholic.org/culture/social-justice/2011/01/papal-prescription

“In fact Pope Benedict joined WHO’s call for universal health coverage just before its report hit the press. He called health care a moral responsibility of government and an “inalienable right,” regardless of social and economic status or ability to pay. He cautioned that the privatization of health care should “not become a threat to the accessibility, availability, and quality of health care.”

We do NOT need a Republican ‘social justice’ president. George W. Bush was a ‘compassionate’ conservative and he turned over domestic spending to the ‘social justice’ career politicians.

I haven’t heard Santorum talking much about guns.

Rick has the highest rating from the NRA of the candidates running. A+. BTW, Newt voted for the Lautenberg amendment.

If Santorum has limited 2nd Amendment rights, then shame on him;

Rick has the highest rating of the candidates running from the NRA. A+.

That’s what I though, but the Paulbots can find a speck in any real conservative’s record to magnify beyond reason.

You are also aware that one Newton Gingrich voted for this amendment. His record on gun issues is fairly spotty in comparison to Ricks.

Another anti Rick post from this obvious Paid troll from the left coast !

I think he's a Newt supporter. There are a group of "concerned" Freepers who are posting anti-Rick hit pieces about "social" issues and who are "deeply" concerned that this will turn off the voters in the general. They have been posting a lot of these articles in the last few days and then overtake the threads with their "deep" concern. I'd bet most of them are Newt supporters.

Unfortunately, they are in lockstep with the MSM/obama campaign. This was obama's goal all along in mandating the BC/abortificants right now. He's buying more votes and scaring women with all the crazy headlines out there.

Well I can tell you I'm not willfully uninformed.

I just spent some time on the search engines and you are correct. The Federal Suit is on the merits and Equal Protection grounds.

It's possible the courts COULD rule that homos have the right to "marriage" nationwide.

All the more reason for a Constitutional Amendment to bar it.

I do support Newt, most especially since the PROUD GOP establishment decided he is NOT worthy and have tried to Alinsky him out of this election. I wonder, how many would support a Romney/Santorum or Santorum/Romney ticket.... this is where this election is headed.

I have never cared for Santorum since he decided it was in his political interests to save the Clintons presidency. And they claim Newt has ethics issues.

With all due respect, the poster was just trying to uphold the values espoused by Jim Robinson on FreeRepublic. Someone attacking a candidate who is the virtual antithesis of Romney is more than a little suspect.

"I think he's a Newt supporter."

I've never attempted to hide that. First Palin, then Newt.
