I sometimes wonder if Sarah Palin has anticipated a brokered convention, and if so, is she lying in wait.
Make that “bonfire of the vanity.”
The authors bias is so readily apparent that one can hardly take him/her not one bit seriously. Santorum could have shined like a diamond and this writer would have only seen a chunk of coal.
She always does thing to be thinking two steps ahead somehow... I would welcome a Palin entry at that point.
I have never found him charismatic, clever, or skilled enough to be nominee... why do I need to give him any chance after that when I feel Gingrich is ten times the man, makes Santorum look like a child, actually.
Ricky acting like one last night didn’t help his case one bit, did it.
It’s only a Newtbot blog. Consider the source.
Mitt needs to drop out now.
That mean, based upon this process of elimination, we are left with Romney. Plane and simple! And, that does not excite me. Why? How excited will voters be to support the guy with has a great “Oppo Man” but has the same governing background as the One? Not very.
Unlike Mclame, Romney may fight the One, but the voters will stay with the devil they know instead of the one they don't.
That means we will get a liberal SCOTUS. That means more regulations. That means we will get even more crony capitalism. That means in 4 years we will become Greece, because this government can not help itself when it comes to mature governance. We will be in so much debt we will die just as other republics have in the past.
So enjoy the horse race we all call a campaign because the finish line will suck for everyone with Romney in the saddle.
Last night Newt did a good job. Much better than in the last two debates when he was the guy being ferociously attacked. It kind of works like that.
Santorum had a bad night. It is always harder when you have to spend the whole debate on defense rather than making good points. But..I am sure Santorum knew it was coming. It is hard to fight when the moderator and two of the debaters are pummeling you from every direction. That said, Newt was not the one doing the attacking.
All in all, Romney held his own and the outcome will help the Myth more than anyone else.
Santorum will drop some, Newt will rise some, but will either now be able to top Romney and his horse boy Ron Paul?
Me? I am not going to participate in insulting Newt or Santorum at this time. It is pointless.
Reagan was ProLife...seems this writer could not care any less about being ProLife. How can he call himself a “reaganite” and be so ProRomney who supports abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, eugenics, genocide and assisted-suicide, healthcare rationing, etc? And then be so anti-Santorum, who is the only candidate who is 100% ProLife and during a campaign where the ONLY thing that will save this nation is full respect for the dignity of the human person and Judeo-Christian principles and constitutional protection of religious liberty? Oh, I get it...he/she's a “Nancy Reaganite.”
It’s no shock to those of us that didnt buy into the “anointed candidate from Jesus” bandwagon attitude Ricks people have been putting out.
They spent so much time projecting greatness on this guy that they failed to remember that all projections need a big blank sheet to go on.
And boy Rick is one of the biggest blank sheets out there.
My guess he kicks Romney's sorry butt to the curb in the South and Santorum looses his Big-Mo their as last night showed he ain't got the Chops for it.
IMHO Rush maybe right, we maybe looking in a couple weeks of the massive rebound of the Newtster.
There won’t be a late entry. In a brokered convention, the big GOP cheeses will do the brokering and they will pick Mitt Romney.
They aren’t going to pick anyone who hasn’t put any sweat into actually running. That includes, Jeb, Mitch, Chris, Sarah, you name it.
If that happened, nobody would ever bother running as a candidate again. It wouldn’t be worth it. The resentment would cause the chosen one to lose.
Romney wins the award for least sincere and least conservative.
Santorum finished a distant fourth last night. Even Paul showed him to be the typical “politician”.
Santorum is an honest man in an increasingly dishonest world. I’m stickin with Rick.
It’s apparent to many that ron paul and romney tag teamed santorum and have been aligned for awhile. Seems like obamney/RAND paul VP is the DEAL. Santorum lost some glitter and needs to align with Gingrich. The real battle now is obamney vs gingrich.
Anything is possible. If Newt rises, he will once again go through the ringer though.
He certainly didn’t shine in the two Florida debates when he was kicked around by Romney and the media.
I worry now that nobody will be able to rise fast enough to stop a Romney roll.
This morning, the media is fawning over Romney and his “so called” consistent debate performances.
If Romney wins Michigan and Nevada, and does fairly well on Super Tuesday, it could be about over.
CNN last evening and FoxNews this morning are indicating that last night’s debate may be the final one for the GOP primary season.
The question is whether Gingrich can capitalize on Santorum’s weak debate showing. If Gingrich’s numbers do not soar as today’s polls come in, he becomes the huck-hanger-on.
Romney may have managed to improve his showing and squeak out a win in Michigan.
Santorum’s Big Mo may have been daunted by the debate.
But, for Gingrich, he MUST show a win in at least one state before SuperTuesday. Without that, he falls further behind in the delegate count. Even if Santorum and Romney split AZ-MI, that doesn’t help Gingrich, especially since Gingrich is struggling in GA.
More like Fatty Arbuckle, er, Gov. Christie waiting for the buffet to open.
Ten times the man????
No bias on your part at all.
Sorry but you have disqualified yourself as a legitimate commentator.
——I worry now that nobody will be able to rise fast enough to stop a Romney roll.-——
Both Rick and Newt need Rick to take Michigan. If he doesn’t, there’s still hope, but not much.
If not Newt I demand open convention
Mitt won’t repeal ObamaCare and Santorum would get trounced... what else is there to consider
“Santorums Big Mo may have been daunted by the debate”
GOOD, he’s a guaranteed loser from where I’m standing.
If not Newt we need Palin or somebody else to step up at the convention, plenty of thinking people know Santorum is not going to cut it
If Mitt gets the delegates, demanding ain’t going to happen. Remember, Ron Paul will probably throw his delegates to Mitt Romney.
So it isn’t going to happen.
Santorum defended his liberal voting record by telling us, “politics is a team sport.” His explanation of supporting Spector would have put a lot of athletes in prison........you know throwing the game because you made a bet against your team.
>Ten times the man????
No bias on your part at all.”
Never claimed to be unbiased, few are
BUT you can forget what the candidates are saying, just compare the records of accomplishment... Newt’s conservative legislative victories are historic and HUGE, he’s one of the best debaters on the planet, and his IDEAL economic plan (#1 issue with US voters BY FAR) has been endorsed enthusastically by none less than Reagan’s economic guru Art Laffer.
Meanwhile, Santorum has done next to nothing but talk, really- how ironic then he’s such an atrocious debater, lol
Christie will be Mittens’ pick for VP and hatchet man.
Yeah, I know. Doesn’t look good right now. It might help if we all quit slamming our own.
“Santorum defended his liberal voting record by telling us, politics is a team sport. His explanation of supporting Spector would have put a lot of athletes in prison........you know throwing the game because you made a bet against your team.”
The problem is that with this GOP leadership it will not be “open”. Those that manage the convention are the same 25-30% that have supported Romney since 2008.
At this point, I feel certain, the leadership would love an “open” convention. They will simply work their magic to give us Romney. That is why we are here today. Those that manage the process are managing the process in their chosen direction.
Note that MSNBC Morning Joe heads are all jumping on the Romney wagon. They know where that leads.
Was counting on Mittens falling short, but that’s far from certain... the Paul angle sends a chill down the spine, tho... amazing
Yeah the horros of supporting Spector is more than enough to disqualify any candidate right?

And, I have and do support(ed) Newt. My objection is to your blatantly prejudiced attack being passed off as legitimate commentary....it is not. But, there's a lot of that going on around here these days.
Two NE liberal GOP governors? Won't happen.
I've already decided I won't vote for Romney based upon his underhanded trashing of Newt in Iowa and Florida. Santorum isn't ready for primetime. Ron Paul makes sense one minute and scares the hell out of me the next. I'm still a Palinista but Newt has impressed me in all of the debates. He's the only one who lays out his plan in detail. And it's a plan Sarah would be proud of.
You are ridiculously over the top. White bread? With Romney sitting next to him you think RICK is white bread?
For me the problem is ONE THING: Santorum’s SUCH a weak candidate, lacking all the things I would look to have in facing Obama (save a conservative platform): he’s super-boring, lousy debater, not charming, not a winner, and not a leader... he’s never ran anything larger than his own Senate office. I would bet a lot of money he would be trounced in November.
And Santorum looked awful last night, who’s he going to win over with that snotty smirk and overacting... seems like a guy who’s not used to being talked back to.
Clearly if Ricky had faced even a fraction of the heat Gingrich has taken he’d been back home with the kids months ago... this is the great hope for the GOP?
“I’m still a Palinista but Newt has impressed me in all of the debates. He’s the only one who lays out his plan in detail. And it’s a plan Sarah would be proud of.”
Couldn’t agree more, McGruff- I honestly can’t believe the way so many ran away from Newt after Romney started attacking him... what ever happened to ‘consider the source’, people?
The only things new brought up were new only because they were Romney/PAC distortions and lies... anything true was old, old news
Newt’s Reaganite platform is awesome, very disappointed in those so easily swayed as to prefer this ‘Charlie Brown’ Rick Santorum... if Mitt fall short I will pray for Sarah at an open convention
Sick of watching Gingrich trashed as he takes the gentleman’s path, somebody needs to get in the trenches for him.
And it’s not a ‘prejudiced attack’ as much as an “I told you so”... been warning Santorum is a horrible candidate for months now, Obama would run circles around him. Folks can love his platform all they want, but I honestly question the judgement of anybody that’s enthusiastic about going up against the Dems with this guy.
I don’t mind taking some heat to get a few people to wake up to all this, it’s for the good of the conservative cause.
“IMHO Rush maybe right, we maybe looking in a couple weeks of the massive rebound of the Newtster”
From Rush’s lips to Gods ears.
Newt was the only presidential candidate on the stage last night. He is the only person with a real plan to hit the ground running on day one and restore the constitutional republic. Go Newt!!!
I don’t think it’s accidental that the HBO thing is out to libel Palin yet again. A shot across the bow to let us all know that the media is a rattlesnake lying in wait to poison the country if it appears to be waking up before the Soros boa can finish the job on us.
