I do not think he toast. He still plenty of gas.
Don’t quit your day job.
I don’t disagree with the possibility that Santorum may have peaked, but I disagree with that Romney is going to take it.
All of them will keep splitting the vote, I think, until there is a brokered convention.
I don’t know who might win that, hopefully Newt.
I could make a list for each and every candidate if my reasons were as weak as yours.
He’s going to have trouble losing Tennessee. A large portion of us vote early, in this case, during the period he was leading by 18+ points. He is about that far ahead in Oklahoma and comfortably ahead in Ohio. You might want to rethink at least that portion of your rant.
SNL does not elect presidents. God help us if it ever does. Rick has a chance just like any other candidate.
Romney didn’t win MI. He tied with Santorum over the number of delegates.
If your guy Romney steals the nomination, we’ll all be toast because Obama will get another 4 years to destroy this country.
Romney = Obama lite
Doesn’t matter, I’m still not paying for your trojans or college education.
This post is beyond insane. Here in Romney’s home state, Santorum gets the same number of delegates as Romney and comes within a whisker of beating Romney after being outspent 5 to 1, and someone thinks he’s toast? This is beyond reason.
Ya think? Nice Mitt Romney supporter post.
I hope you’re right. I can picture Newt or Mitt Romney either one winning, I can’t picture Santorum winning at this point. The choice needs to be between Gingrich and Romney.
How many “home States” does Mitt have? I swear, the media is pounding that home, (pun intended) but he hasn’t lived in Michigan since he was a kid.
New Hampshire was supposed to be his home state, because he lived there.
He was Gov. of Mass, so that’s considered his home state.
Does his home in California qualify that to be his home state?
Is Utah a home state on account of the Mormon support?
Same goes for Arizona and Nevada, home field advantage?
Where does it end?
Careful that all home state eggs are not put into Michigan’s basket.
And yet, as of today, he is 13 points ahead of Romney in OH.
Since the debate last Wednesday Rick Santorum has been in free fall. He has lost 11 points on the national Gallup DTP since then (36% to 25%) and now is only 9 points ahead of Newt Gingrich and now a full 8 points back of Romney.
If not for the two primaries yesterday the #1 political story would have been how Rick Santorum has slid into the political abyss and that there is not a lifeline long enough to pull him out.
I look for him and Newt to meet up within the next week.
Look for Romney to win Ohio, and Newt to win both Tennessee and Oklahoma.
Santorum’s ship is now listing badly. It is about to go down like the Titanic.
Farewell, Rick. A real American tragedy.
Santo can no longer hide like he was just a few weeks ago when he was trailing Newt and Mittens when no one was paying much attention to him.
Are you the guy who got his beeber stuned? Seriusly.
I’ve been humbled by making proclamations of largely wishful thinking before.
Santorum is not an enemy- Obama is, however.
Yeah, we all wish something will happen, someone will fold and throw support, etc.
I just hope God has not forsaken this country, as He in the past has showed mercy when there was but one righteous man left..
Advocate and argue all you want. Be careful with predictions and pronouncements.
I agree with what you said. I just don’t see Santorum beating zero.
Romney and Newt both have a history of running things...whether or not you agree with all of what they did...but Santorum is just belching rhetoric...although at least he has more of a track record than zero but still...I just don’t think he has the gravitas.
Bottom line...I wouldn’t hire Santorum to run my company but I might hire him to be a salesman.
Can’t imagine Santorum support goes to Romney once Gingrich returns to the spotlight fighting for the South.
Tennessee. What a deal? Can’t imagine they will close their ears to Newt, but Early Voting is a killer, a huge trap for voters.
Santorum is folding but it’s too late for goofy early voters who are seldom serious voters, but composed mostly of those too lazy to stand in line and vote on Tuesday when all things are current. Two, three weeks can be a lifetime in politics, and they have tossed their vote away.
Yup, it is only going to get worse.
SUPER TUESDAY BLUES AHEAD FOR SANTORUM
Seems like you nailed it. It’s a amazing pattern of musical chairs for the AbBMR candidates with RS imploding/exploding last.
I notice Ron Paul never went after Romney.
Romney has been out there giving Democrats ammunition against himself making comments about how rich he is. He is good in debates and interviews but he looks terrible in rallies and speeches(looks shifty) , most uninspiring. Obama is counting on getting out the vote.
I wish I had a nickel for every “genius” prognosticator who was wrong.
Santorum is like the old Barry Manilow song:
Trying to get the feeling again
The theme of the song—the man tries everything to recapture “the feeling” but it’s gone.
Santorum is now a spent force. It’s just most people can’t see the forest for the trees.
The final nail on the coffin will happen on Super Tuesday.
Well your number point #4 is wrong.
So, I’ll have to question your other points as well.
Oh and quit pimping WRongney.
A favorite son often is not.
Gingrich might lose Georgia for several reasons. He has not resided there for many years.
Evangelicals have warmed up to Santorum, as we have seen in Michigan. They do not traditionally vote for Catholics.
Tennessee is really three states: Eastern, Central, and Western. They are all very different populations.
Western is poor, rural, and religious. They will go for Santorum.
Central is citified and educated. They will go for Romney.
Eastern is Tea Party. They will go for Newt.
I see a 3-way tie in Tennessee
Rick needs to retool the way he is getting his message out and create a smarter game plan. For one thing, the Left set the contraception trap to trip him up. He needs to learn how to handle such traps with a message that is clear so that it can’t be twisted around to make him look like a moral bigot.
Rick does not understand how to debate civic issues. Take birth control. The question is not whether birth control is wanted by women or not or whether it is moral. Rick fell into the left’s trap.
The debate was about the Federal government ordering religious people to violate their consciences, thereby ending religious freedom. No one is proposing birth control be banned by the Catholic church. That is a red herring put up by Obama.
Yeah he is.
I’ll send you a nickel if I am wrong. ;
The point is an old dog can’t learn new tricks.
He is who he is.
He always will take the bait from the media (eg the JFk question) and then put his foot in his mouth.
The media knows it and they will keep on doing it to Rick.
Rick also pandered to the open Dem Union base in an open primary.
He does not have this all sewn up.
I think a lot of dems crossed over for him in the primary because they see him as easily beaten.
Never underestimate the duplicity of dem voters.
Perhaps a sign of things to come:
“Romney with a small lead on first night of our Washington poll. Represents big change from 2 weeks ago, reflecting national shift.”
Washington votes in a caucus setting this Saturday, March 3.
When a dam springs a leak, all hell can break loose. That is what I am predicting in regards to Santorum’s leads in Ohio, Tennessee and Oklahoma.
Unfortunately it will be Mitt Romney who benefits more from this development rather than Newt Gingrich.
I am thinking that you are seriously underestimating the liberal media- SNL, Jon Stewart, "The View" and others of their ilk. They absolutely DO help elect presidents. And it's not unrelated that Obama was elected by the female gender, and they are one of the main influences in Romney's current lead.
if this is the same “techno” from C4P (conservatives for Palin), this is the person who totally belched his analysis of “Palin 2012” theories.
Tech was once an interesting feature on C4P, now he’s just another blah-blah-blah.
It remains to be seen if the Church rights angle sells in beating this mandate.
The problem with it is that the specific objection is against Birth Control which gives Dems the opening you reference to try to rally women voters. Republicans thought this would be low hanging political fruit against Obama-care when they jumped in, but it is not turning out that way. The idea of 'Free' birth control is very popular.
The real problem is the popular mandates that the courts allow and Republicans are scared to challenge. ‘Free’ birth control is the recent example but mandates on hospitals to treat the uninsured for free is also popular and was a incremental step to the personal mandate and Obama-care.
Romney got about 50% of the female Catholic vote, Santorum less than 33%.
And he lost the female vote in Michigan by 6 point whereas a week before no pollster was showing more than a 3 point gap.
One of the serious questions is will the same women that think Saint Rick is over the line, call Newt over the line based on moral views?
I am a bad judge of this sort of thing.
Right! But arguing from a point of view of freedom is the only way we will defeat these socialist, dictating fools. We need to learn to do that and educate the public. Rick can’t do it.
Newt can do it.
SNL may not elect presidents but it sure can destroy a potential president, ask Sarah Palin.
I don't know why you say that, Evangelicals are all Santorum had in Pennsylvania, it was the Catholics and women who kicked him out.
In 2006 Santorum got 42% of white Catholics, 39% of females, and 71% of white Evangelicals.
They will now go to Mitt after earlier rejecting Newt.
Santorum currently leads Romney by 9 in Ohio, and Gingrich by 20
Newt will deal with these lefty games very effectively. He really knows what he is doing.
I sure hope so. Even when you agree with him, he’s hard to like as a public figure. I still remember his quote about needing the government more involved in the bedroom. He’s toxic from an electoral standpoint.
