CALIFORNIA mattress store chain SLEEP TRAIN has announced via Twitter that it has pulled its ads from RUSH LIMBAUGH's syndicated PREMIERE NETWORKS show after the host referred to a college student testifying about contraceptive availability as a "slut," then demanded that women on the pill provide sex videos since the government mandates insurance pays for the pill -- comments LIMBAUGH asserted were made as a form of absurd humor.
Bet Rush is just devastated.
Ironic a mattress store dumps Rush over free birth control pills. Must’ve felt like he was ripping into their market somehow....
And surprise, it’s a Califreaky company.
Whoops...is this Rush’s “nappy head Ho” moment. The media will crucify Rush.
Forget it, he's rolling.
Tested sleep number and it is like laying on a Swiss ball. We have the Tempurpedic and it is awesome.
Very Stupid on Select Comfort’s part. Rush made that company. They never learn.
“focused on women who needed contraceptives for reasons other than preventing pregnancy”
And just what would those reason be? Please give me specifics because as the owner of pharmacy I have head them all! Most of them are LIES!
Thanks....they got an email....
What a Fluke!
“They want too much personal info when emailing them”
I gave them more than they asked for INCLUDING my cell number! I want them to contact me!
Told my wife when this started, “Rush will see a 50% gain in listeners.”
I own a business that was controversial in certain markets. The negative press brought people out of the woodwork to see what this was all about. Been growing at 40% a year since. Rush will kick ass if he stays the course.
“Just to let you know I will no longer patronize your store. Your politically correct kneejerk reaction to Rush Limbaugh’s statement is unacceptable to this customer.
Any person (man or women) that needs the government (meaning you and me) to pay $1000.00 for contraception for them is a slut.
There are plenty of alternative sources for the product you supply and most are not anti free speech even though that speech may be blunt.
Your miscalculation is going to cost you business. You made your bed now sleep in it.
A former customer.
Second, given what I understand is a very long waiting list for advertising slots, two just opened up.
And if you read the article they are “suspending” their ads. guess what guys, I bet you go to the bottom of the waiting list. What did you say, you're losing money from not being on Rush. Looks like your “rush” decision cost you...
I just sent this email to the Select Comfort customer service department. That was fun.
For a long time I’ve wanted a sleep number bed. I’ve heard they are great. No matter. I wouldn’t buy one now if it were the last mattress on the planet.
Due to your pulling advertising from the Rush Limbaugh show I will not now or ever buy one of your mattresses and will advise every person I know not to as well.
Rush has no doubt helped your sales significantly over the years and has I know being a loyal listener, even bought some for listeners. This is the thanks he gets.
Perhaps you think Ms Fluke will help you sell more mattresses given that she seems to spend a great deal of time on the flat of her back.
You made a HUGE mistake and miscalculation with this decision. You must be owned and run by liberals. One more reason not to buy your product.
In the words of Rush Limbaugh. I hope you fail. I really do. I hope you fail big.
I told them that they might think they’re doing the right thing by going after the $1,000 per year birth control crowd since they probably wear out their mattresses quicker, but if those people can’t afford their birth control, they probably can’t afford a Sleep Number bed.
My husband and I have been disagreeing about our new mattress. he wants a Tempur-Pedic, I wanted the Sleep Number. Disagreement resolved.
I love my Sleep Number bed and absolutely hate the Tempurpedic that we tried! I’ll have to find an alternative though because I am finished with Sleep Number, period!
it’;s about time that we on the right did the same to their shows and their channels.
We should get all of talk radio and sites like these and do a massive petition wanting some lefty removed or do a petition saying if you pull out of a certain channel or show then we will boycott.
He’s pitched Select Comfort countless times.
My apologies.. Actually, the Bachmann incident on Jimmy Falon’s show was worse since she is a sitting member of Congress.
Never heard of “Sleep Train”.
Select Comfort pulled it’s advertising?? There go their numbers.
Is Limbaugh’s ratings hurting?
Maybe I just happened to miss it but Ive never heard of them
maybe we need a list of companies which advertise on MSNBC, or another lefty kook site and say we’re boycotting them or get a list of these companies, tell the millions who listen to talk radio etc to boycott certain companies and see how the left likes it.
Speaking of COWARDS...
John Boehner: Rush Limbaugh slut remark inappropriate
Speaker John Boehner on Friday denounced radio host Rush Limbaughs slut remarks aimed at Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke, but the Ohio Republican also jabbed at Democrats who have been fundraising off the fracas.
The speaker obviously believes the use of those words was inappropriate, as is trying to raise money off the situation, Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said in an e-mail Friday morning.
Fluke is a law student who wasnt allowed to testify at a congressional hearing in February that centered on the Obama administrations contraception rule. Democrats convened a hearing last week specifically so Fluke could testify the need for easier access to birth control.
Boo freaking Woo...
This third year law student couldn’t figure out how to “ACCESS” birth control? She needs to talk to some of our customers who get MOMMIE to lecture the doctor on how hard it is for darling daughter every month of her period (LIES) so darling daughter can have sex (& MOMMIE IS CLUELESS).
I didn’t hear Fluke say anything about “ACESS” I heard her discuss COST TO HER...$3,000 every 36 months. $4 - 9 a month for birth control pills doesn’t equal anywhere near $3,000. Besides, if Fluke can’t afford birth control maybe she should SLOW DOWN her sex life or SHUT THE HELL UP!
$45,000 A YEAR for her school but can’t afford birth control. YEAH, I’m buying that! /not!
I hope Rush has a LOT of fun with this next week.
Could you ever have imagined that the President of the United States would call a “promiscuous woman” to congratulate her on her life choices?
I’ve been losing out to my husband for 23 years! He likes a firm mattress, I like a softer one. I’ve been sleeping on a rock for all this time. I thought the Sleep Number was a perfect option. I hope another company makes something like that. I thought I could finally win!
just mailed them telling them I will not give my money to them anymore.
Because they don't now?
Well another name for a slut is a “mattress” so I guess the Select Comfort folks were insulted.
These are a few of the uses these women CLAIM are used for birth control pills...
“Adolescent girls and young women are frequently prescribed birth control pills for irregular or absent menstrual periods, menstrual cramps, acne, PMS, endometriosis, and for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.”
Clue...MOST young women/girls use them for BIRTH CONTROL...
It makes MOMMIE feel better ‘knowing’ there are other reasons darling daughter ‘needs’ birth control. I guess MOMMIE never heard of PROACTIVE AND CLEARISIL for acne? /s
we need a list of companies which run AD’s on left wing channels etc and tell these companies we will not give them our money and also send mail to the companies the kooks have gone after and tell them that if they pull out they will not get our money
Rush Should offer i year free birth control for each mattress sold.
Post of the day nominee!!
Sorry, Boner, but what's inappropriate is people like Fluke wanting to sleep around but have others pay for the consequences of their own actions. If Fluke wants free contraception, Fluke can keep her pants on. That's free!
Pass the popcorn, please!
Tell him to TRY the Tempurpedic first before he decides. I thought I would love it! At first you kind of sink in and say awwwww THEN you can’t move for the rest of the night! I couldn’t get off of that thing fast enough. It even made my joints hurt that have NEVER hurt before. I was so disappointed.
Ticker symbol SCSS. Maybe some puts are in order.
“If Fluke wants free contraception, Fluke can keep her pants on. That’s free!”
It just *isses me off that someone attending a $45,000 A YEAR school thinks we should pay for her damn birth control pills!
ditto every bit of that...as you said....ahhhh...then try gettin up...I’m 6ft 170 and it took a 62 Buick car jack to get me above sea level
Breaking news: a new mandate has been added to Obamacare. Every American or foreign college student must be given a free select comfort mattress. These taxpayer funded mattresses have a do-it-yourself softness adjustment from #1 Studying in Bed Firm to #99 Slutty N Soft. #50 is perfect for everyone, so great for groups. Bidding is now closed for this contract.

States slash birth control subsidies as federal debate rages
March 2 (Reuters) - Even as a national debate rages over contraception insurance, tens of thousands of low-income women and teenagers across the United States have lost access to subsidized birth control as states slash and restructure family planning funds.
Montana and New Jersey have eliminated altogether their state family planning programs. New Hampshire cut its funding by 57 percent and five other states made more modest program trims.
But the biggest impact, by far, has been in Texas.
State lawmakers last fall cut family-planning funds by two-thirds, or nearly $74 million over two years. Within months, half the state-supported family planning clinics in Texas had closed.
The state network, which once provided 220,000 women a year free and low-cost birth control
At the People’s Community Clinic in Austin, the cuts mean that many low-income patients, except the very poorest, are now charged for contraception that used to be free: $5 for a dozen condoms; $10 for a month of birth control pills; $225 for an IUD.
“I have no clue what I’m going to do,” said Rhetta Pope, 22, of Austin. A stay-at-home mother of two, she lives off disability payments of less than $1,500 a month.
Pope said after paying basic living expenses, she has so little left she scrimps on electricity by keeping the lights off and takes her laundry to an aunt’s house. She can’t imagine how she would pay for birth control.
“I guess I’m going to have to stop using it because I don’t have the money,” Pope said. “I’m pretty shook up. I really am.”
This is huge; I remember SleepTrain from the days when it was just 1 or 2 stores in Sacramento —the Howe ‘bout Arden store (if it’s still there) is just maybe 3 blocks from KFBK, where Rush started out. I mean, that’s where all the magic started, where Rush got his big break.
You can comfortable WALK from KFBK to SleepTrain’s first store.
In the early days Rush and SleepTrain were like hand-in-glove, like Clinton and Tyson chicken Arkansas sweat-houses.
This is huge, huge, huge and....I cannot see any way that Rush cannot afford to NOT make an example of them, somehow; if he doesn’t, it will just be work, work, work.
It’s hard, cuz Rush is actually polite, loyal, and a real professional.
don’t understand why conservatives play defense like this. Rush should be interviewing Sheriff Arpaio and Leo Donofrio. But I know he won’t. Meanwhile the Leftists smell blood and are gaining traction. It worked on the NFL deal.
Name-calling, personal attacks, and the like are the domain of the left. Why stoop to their level?
because that is what penetrates their small minds. Poke fun at them, denigrate at every opportunity, laugh and point at them, address them for what they are, idiots, village idiots. Those are the exact tactics Alinsky wanted the left to use on the right and those tactics are the only way to pound their feeble minds into the mud. Kick them when they are down, use the bar stool, never let them up.
Great Response to Sleep Number! I actually have lower back problems and seriously considered buying one of their king sized mattresses. I too sent an email. I’ll go elswhere now.
I was wrong —I just haven’t been back to Sacramento in some time:
I check the map, and the distance from KFBK where Rush started to where SleepTrain started is about 200 METERS...!!
This is seriously the biggest stab-in-the-back imaginable.
RUSH MADE THOSE GUYS AND HAS BEEN ***LOYAL**.
When snapple left Rush, they dropped fast....
The Carbonite Blog is going nuts as well.. won’t surprise me if they drop out as well.
