Same people he always threatens.

Unfortunately the GOP doesn’t have the stones to call a major press conference and put the obvious choices to the American people. Rain gardens and bike paths, or veterans? High speed rail or social security? Regulatory agencies or jobs? Taxation or economic freedom? The slavery of dependence or the freedom of independence.

I would then go on and explain to the American people that the entitlements do need to be severely curtailed BUT the GOP prefers to clear the path for private sector job creation first. As jobs are created, large numbers of people will choose the freedom of independence.

The "entitlement classes"? is that what the elderly folks who paid into Social Security all their lives have become in your mind?

How pitiful.

Remember, they paid TOP DOLLAR, and every dollar they paid was taxed at the very highest income tax rate.

Now their payments are keeping the entire US government afloat and you are calling these people names.

You will not gain many friends doing that.

Obama always threatens to not pay Social Security, military pay, SSI (to the handicapped), and welfare (most of which goes to children). That's because he's an SOB with out an ounce of compassion or even wit. He's a Chicago street thug by choice. Expect nothing better out of him.

And one more time, you whack the elderly in this country you are messing with people who are well armed with the best there is, and despite maybe being frail of form, have a very large contingent of military veterans who KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Don't get in the way ~ let Obama try it.

Just one of the many self damaging mistakes conservatives make. Along with people people preferring unemployment to work, people prefer welfare, and all union members are democrats.

They all need to be curtailed but offering threats instead of a path out is a losing proposition.

This is all just more of the same. Summed up in two words; CLASS WARFARE.

Obama was raised in it, he believes in it, and he lives it. He won’t admit to it though. Communists today cannot allow themselves to be exposed as communists.

Muawiyah, you are absolutely dead-on. To their own peril, the youth oriented culture dismisses the seasoned citizen.

At the onset of the U.S. Revolutionary War, General Thomas Gage, commander of the British forces in Boston, sent a couple of ammo wagons, guarded by a dozen or so men and an officer, to Lexington.

Now there were these old militiamen who’d probably served in the French and Indian War, who were still on the “alarm list”, but they were approximately Rush’s age, and so were considered too darn old to join a company, LOL! Having never said “die”, they grabbed their firearms and positioned themselves out on the road to Lexington.

Well these old guys saw the British coming, intercepted their convoy and demanded the soldiers surrender themselves and their wagons. The young regulars must’ve had a good laugh about that, because they rode right on past. Well, the old fellers just said, okay; opened fire on the snoots, shot their horses right out from under them, killed a couple of sergeants and wounded an officer.

The remainder of Gage’s boys all ran away. Some threw their guns into the water, and there was a frantic scramble and dash to get the heck out of there before they finally saw the light, called it quits, and surrendered to our Colonial Grandpas.

And I’ll bet they never lived it down.

I was referring to the “entitlement classes” as the OWS and the brainless bums that wander about claiming we owe them money for just being a different color... or because they cannot find work as a (insert all the worthless social sciences and arts degrees and doctorates here)

Not those who have worked all their lives for their future.

Your presumption of my thoughts as being negative against those who have worked all their lives is incorrect.

I have now politely corrected this error in perception.

EL.

welfare (most of which goes to children)

Slight correction. It goes to the parent(s), often the children see little of it. They get their breakfast, lunch and often supper, at school, which is welfare too of course, but the AFDC, Aid to Families withe Dependent Children, program name makes it clear who gets the money. Same with food stamps, the existence of kids makes the amount of food stamps greater, but the Mom often sells them at a discount to get money for cigarettes, drugs, and/or booze.

Then there was Captain Samuel Whittemore late of His Majesties Dragoons, who came to America with said Dragoons to fight the French in 1745. He fought then again in 1758 @ age 64. But the real reason he's remembered to this day (and his house still stands in modern day Arlington, MA, between Cambridge and Lexington) is that he again took up arms on April 19th, 1775.

Word had come to Menotomy that the combined, heavily engaged, columns of Smith and Percy were retreating toward the town, and were burning homes along the way, so the aged warrior decided to take action in spite of his being eighty years old! He strapped on his captured french sword, stuck his brace of dueling pistols in his belt, put on his powder horn and shot bag, took his musket from its place on his fireplace mantle and went to war! Sam selected a position that gave him a excellent view of the road from Lexington, and sat down to wait. His fellow minuteman from Menotomy pleaded for him to find a safer position, but he choose to ignore them.

His fellow minuteman started firing at the oncoming British Grenadiers of the 47th Regiment of Foot, falling back to reload, then firing again. Sam waited. Finally, when the column was directly in front of him, he stood and fired his musket. A grenadier fell dead. He drew his two pistols, firing both at almost point blank range. Another grenadier fell dead, a third fell mortally wounded. The British soldiers were on top of him, he had not the time to reload his musket or pistols, so drawing his sword, he . started flailing away at the bayonet wielding soldiers. A soldier leveled his Brown Bess musket, at point blank range and fired. The .69 calibre ball struck Sam in the cheek, tearing away part of his face and throwing him to the ground. Sam valiantly tried to rise, fending off bayonet thrusts with his sword, but he was overpowered. Struck in the head with a musket butt, he went down again, then was bayoneted thirteen times and left for dead.

...

After the British column had fought its way clear, the town's people and minuteman started to search for their wounded compatriots. Several had seen Sam Whittemore's "last stand" and approached to remove his body. To everyone's astonishment Sam was not only still alive, but conscious and still full of fight. Laying there, he was trying to load his musket! Using a door as a makeshift stretcher, Sam was carried to Cooper Tavern, which was being used as a emergency hospital. Doctor Nathaniel Tufts of Medford attended to Sam. He cut off his bloody clothes, and exposed the gaping bayonet wounds. Sam's face was horribly injured. Doctor Tufts knew the injuries were fatal, stating it wouldn't do any good to even dress the wounds. Sam's family and friends insisted and Dr. Tufts did the best he could. He tried to make the old man as comfortable as possible. After his wounds were attended to Sam was carried to his home, to die surrounded by his family. To everyone's utter amazement Captain Sam Whittemore lived! He recovered and remained active for the next eighteen years. He was terribly scarred, but always was proud of what he had done for his adopted country. He is quoted as having stated that he would take the same chances again.

You really have to be more careful. There are, after all, those around who really do mean social security recipients.

Now, about "social sciences and arts degrees".... one does hope you don't really mean "Arts and Sciences Degrees" which include such useless topics as Mathematics, Chemistry, Medicine, etc.

BTW, you can get an "art degree" with a major in casting and foundry. Otherwise it's virtually impossible these days to get that training.

One of America's most famous soldiers of the Revolution was named TImothy Murphy. He was named for his grandpa, also Timothy Murphy, and all the way back. He had cousins in Baltimore. One of them was a John Murphy. His grandson was named John Timothy Murphy.

I knew people who'd met John T. Murphy, and he knew his grandpa, and his grandpa knew Tim.

Well Tim served in the New York forces as a Scout and Guide. He had a couple of American companions who were well known for being Scouts and Guides, and there were these other guys, also Scouts and Guides who were counted as Oneida Indians, and as it turns out all of those people are as ancestral as John T. Murphy's grandfather.

Like any "consultant" Timothy Murphy moved around from unit to unit, training new scouts, or new guides, or providing pointers to those who were experienced.

One day he was out in the field with some young officers and they ended up in a blockhouse ~ and according to the story a British unit happened upon the blockhouse and seeing that it was occupied by Americans, began firing.

Not much return fire was made so the Brits assumed there were just a few soldiers there and put up a flag indicating they'd like to talk.

One of the young officers feared their being overrun so he put up a flag indicating they should send someone over to talk terms.

Well, next thing you know there was this Brit walking toward the blockhouse carrying a white flag for parlay and Tim realized that something very bad was going to happen. He told the officers he didn't agree, but by then the first had agreed with the second, and he with the third, and they told him it was time to surrender.

Tim saw they were going to be a hard case so he levied his musket at the guy with the flag and nailed him right between the eyes with a 50 caliber ball. The flag carrier collapsed, and the officers seeing that now there could be no surrender they agreed with Tim to fight, which they did, and they walked away alive and free.

Tim never had troubles with officers again.

Tim wasn't all that old ~ and he married shortly after the war. Still, he had the right attitude ~ there can be no surrender ~ this is a sacred war.

he “threatened” because the government is broke. SS tipped over last year and the government must borrow to meet its legal obligations. the money that should have been used for thed reddemptions was spent years ago to mask growing deficits.

BTW, nice blog pimping!
