Ask yourself why would any reasonable person be against showing ID at a polling place? Giant Supermarket asked to see mine before giving me a store card.
The answer, of course, is that no honest reasonable person would be against it.
Why are the Dems unanimously against it? You can say it's because they are not reasonable. Or you can say it's because they are not honest.
I'm going with the latter.

I'm kind of responding to the idiotic comments (and article) on Philly.com about this, but FWIW:
Democrats keep running this narrative about voter fraud taking place by people showing up at the polls and claiming to be someone else. They say this is so risky that no one will ever do it because the poll worker may say “You're not Joe Jones, I know him and you're not him!” or to discover that Joe Jones had already voted.
Of course that's not how they do it. Anyone with access to a street list knows it's done by turning in fake voter registration applications. Abandoned lots, businesses, non-existent addresses, etc. The democrat machine has access to thousands of these registrations. Now, all you need is a few vans, homeless people/union workers/etc. to go around from polling place to polling place, and you've got, oh... ten thousand additional votes.
I've done street work and marked up a few street lists (in South Philadelphia) and roughly 30% of the registrations were not accurate.
FWIW...
Great point!
And showing a drivers license -- or just a utility bill in his name -- would put a crimp in using this technique.
It amazes me why it took this long to get this bill out of the Senate.
