An ugly Air Force cover up: Quinton Keel not fired, but promoted and allowed to resign

Instead of being fired, Quinton Keel the Dover AFB mortuary supervisor who dumped 9/11 victims remains in landfill was promoted and allowed to resign after being promoted.

Keel whose ghoulish mistreatment of the remains of our fallen military heroes was brought to light by whistleblowers has been force out only because was caught retaliating against them.

According to Air Force sources Keel, showed no regard for our honored dead, and no remorse when his willful mishandling of our war heroes’ bodies was revealed by courageous whistleblowers. Instead of contrition Keel systematically retaliated against those who exposed him.

Keel has been accused of lying to authorities investigating charges that, among other things he ordered the arm of a fallen Marine be sawed off in order to force his body into a uniform!

Investigation also revealed that on Keel’s orders the remains of victims of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon, and Iraq and Afghanistan War dead were merely incinerated then dumped in a landfill in Virginia.

While it is not clear what retaliatory measures Keel directed at the courageous and honest employees who reported his despicable conduct, investigators acknowledged they are also questioning two other supervisors as coconspirators in the ongoing retaliation.

Aside from Keel another man who should be sacked and not even given a chance to resign is Air Force Chief of Staff, Gen. Norton Schwartz.

When news of Keel’s atrocious conduct surfaced, Schwartz not only failed to fire him but actually created a new GS-13 pay grade position ($85,500) for him with the cynical title of “Air Force Survivor Assistance Program Manager.”

Now Keel will be able to ride off into the sunset and retire on a fat federal pension paid for by us, without regard for how he did his job or.....

Trust me, from 40 years as a reporter/anchor, when you have a story with as many pejorative emotional adjectives and unnamed “sources,” some facts may be true, but 90% is BS!

Two directly, Three if you count the one I got back via CPR. All in bad shape, though ‘intact’... if it matters, along with dealing with some pretty horrific unrelated accidents.

So please explain in detail how if there is enough of a body left to throw in a dumpster, how that same ‘soup’ cannot be transported to either a crematorium or burial plot. An arm, a torso, or a tooth...there is enough there to bury is there not?

That’s all I’m saying. I know how little can remain. If there is enough to constitute “remains” there’s enough to treat with some level of respect greater than that we show dog vomit.

Quit your juvenile posturing. Money had to be allocated from the budget to use the landfill. So it was known to decision makers.
Nobody blames the workers in the basement. But the person who decided, this was not one of the body handlers. It was a person who never recognized why this is wrong, and never tried to argue with anyone higher up about it.

Nobody thinks the autopsy workers just threw the remains in their pickup to drop off at the dump. We are being critical of the policy maker decision. Not the work of anyone who has smelled a body in the last decade or 2.

From the artcile:
“and Iraq and Afghanistan War dead were merely incinerated then dumped in a landfill in Virginia. “

Many of these were identifiable bodies.
Can you justify treating them like used Huggies diapers?
And please, tell this soldier [me] how you would treat MY remains sir?

In August, 2007 a Black Hawk when down in Multaka,Iraq. All 14 dead. Bodies returned stateside for proper burial at sites designated by NOK. Later additional remains were recovered from the crash site. They were buried in one grave site in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors in Oct. 2008. A marker naming all 14 was placed on the site.

Members of our recovery teams have died in Vietnam (helicopter crash) while searching for remains of our honored dead.

Land fills are not proper sites for disposal of our honored dead...

All you have done is say “look at me,,, i’ve worked with bodies”,, and “bodies are gross sometimes”.
But you havent offered a single rational argument against why the gross bodies were disposed of with the banana peels and diapers. And why the leaders of this office didn’t have the sense to suggest a more appropriate solutions.

You are new, it will take more than puffery to prove your case. You could start by explaining the county dump made more sense than the small respectful mass grave that would be required for the ashes of a few thousand. The volume is not that large.

While medical issues kept me out of the service (And believe me I tried getting in), I have both a daughter and son in law proudly serving in the USAF...which constitutes my skin in the game.

For people to take such a caviler attitude about this just shows me how effective the left has been in minimizing the value of human life. Sure, a human being is physically nothing but water and a few bounds of chemicals... but those chemicals were once alive and we kinda grow attached to them for some strange reason.

Pathetic. That’s all I can say. I don’t care how jaded one gets, when you lose the ability to respect the dead and pieces thereof, you are reduced to nothing but the formentioned chemicals. The humanity is long gone.

People doing a sad, sad job with honor and respect.

While they are indeed doing a sad, sad job, I don't see a shred of honor or respect in treating these remains as if they were trash.

Anybody who has never worked with dead bodies the consistency of soup should try it before casting stones.

So having worked with dead bodies qualifies you to callously dispose of the remains? That's sick. (You'll probably get along quite well with Nifster. The two of you seem to be cut from the same cloth.)

And i think it’s deliberate. They hate anything that reminds people or 9/11 and of muslim atrocities agains humanity.
This quiet trip to a landfill dovetails in nicely with us always being told it’s a “religion of peace”,,etc. Muslims not being profiled at airports,,, FBI terror training having to pass CAIR examinations,,etc.

Our government is desperately trying to mainstream islam here and make sure 9/11 is forgotten. This is part of that.

Funny, Bob’s post was well thought out and well stated.
And you call it ignorance?
I note that both you and Nifster have avoided my post 26.

You and Nifster wouldn’t happen to be trolling this thread because you hate soldiers, would you?
And many of the bodies that were put into that landfill were identifiable.
This creep cremated them and then dumped them.

Agreed.
That some poeple have such an attitude about it, and take the time to insult the rest of us over it, tells me alot about them.

Absolutely. I realize Bush’s whole ROP crap was designed to keep Americans from stringing up Koranimals on the homefront, but it was a sorely mistaken way to go about it (assuming it wasn’t intentional - which is far from proven). So this goes, as you say, right along with that...desensitize us, make us ‘accept’ what were told and how we should think about this and similar issues.

Bullshit.

People that want to spout liberal BS are liberals themselves by definition. And liberals- and their ideas - are the greatest evil of our time.

I disagree with you, therefore I hate soldiers.

You are as weak-minded as the racists who see racism anytime anybody disagrees with them.

As I pondered very dearly,
Stupidity that mortal man,

Or something ;)
