VIDEO - Beck Talks GOP Race With O’Reilly: ‘It’s Time That It Ends’

It’s time for the GOP presidential race to come to a close, Glenn Beck told Fox News‘ Bill O’Reilly

“I think it’s time that it ends,“ Beck said during an interview broadcast Friday on ”The O’Reilly Factor.“ ”I’m a supporter of Rick Santorum but, you know, I think we’re at the end here, or very near the end. If you do the math, it’s darn near mathematically impossible here — unless we go all the way down to the wire — for anybody but Romney to take it. We have got to come together and start to put together a strategy not only for the White House but also for the Senate and for the House

I really think Beck used Sarah Palin and aggressively associated himself with her for a while, just for the publicity and perhaps the conservative “cred.”

For a while I was still listening to parts of his radio show to see what garbage would come out of his mouth, but the last straw for me was one day when he was raging against Newt, calling him names, and then, bam, switched over to the syrupy, self-righteous voice and started talking about how darkness was coming and we all needed to be the light. I said out loud, “You hypocritical jerk, you can’t preach to anybody”, and turned him off for good.

Personally, I want this to go down to the wire. That will give our candidates extra time to talk about 0’s record, and give him and his camp less time to focus on our nominee.

He lost me when he started talking about the Indians being the lost tribe of Israel. Right out of the Joseph Smith teachings, his cult worship is too much to ignore.

Pray for America

This might be bad form and if so I apologize, but I just posted an article by Sean Trende that does some detailed analysis (fairly I think) of the likely delegate count through the rest of the season.

Here is where Newt and the campaign are right now this minute. I don’t see Newt deviating. It looks like a long read, but it isn’t and there is a vid that follows of Newt on Greta talking about this. It is a good gestalt, and a good gameset for Newt’s supporters’ heads... we are just going to have to block out all the media and repubs saying time for newt to go... and just keep marching.

the only disagreement responses I got were that Paul would probably not join the conservatives.

************

Two very smart Freepers, VinL and RitaOK, posted these two posts last night on a different thread, and I think they sum up exactly where things are right now. And during that thread Newt was on Greta, and said the three conservatives had to “short” Romney at the convention… that’s the path to victory.

VinL:

Newt can’t beat Romney one on one- neither can Rick. Romney has too much money and institutional power.
Rick and Newt only have a chance. They they stay in, and don’t campaign against each other. Instead, each attacks Romney and the Gop-e for having “fixed” this GOP primary- and they threaten to bolt the party.
The battle is grassroots against the establishment— and Rick and Newt have to make that argument together.

RitaOK:

” Newt can’t beat Romney one on one- neither can Rick. Romney has too much money and institutional power. “ ——
Vin, I’m glad you lay the truth out there. It is a fact.
I have known this also for weeks, but clung to hope, which led to prayer, and that somehow this cycle was so very different that the truly daunting events and the present facts could be reversed, that Republican voters would wake up and see the machine fix in place.

What is left is to pray that ALL three candidates can mess with Romney long enough to GET US TO CONVENTION, so that we will have earned a hearing of our complaints there, a seat at the table, and be in a position to offer up the delegate war as our bono fidis!

THE DELEGATES, OF ALL THREE, ARE OUR FINAL AND ONLY WEAPON
TO HAVE A VOICE OF OPPOSITION TO THE RINOS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

Alone, none of these candidates against Romney have a prayer, and We The People, the instance one drops out, are silenced and dismissed, left with nothing but theater.
The Establishment is in no real panic and that is quite telling, but for Barbara Bush, of course. But the Establishment knows exactly how this ends because we have failed to unite in time to overwhelm.

Santorum will NEVER be the nominee, one on one.

Newt will NEVER be the nominee, one on one, maybe period.

Ron Paul will certainly NEVER be the nominee by any math.

IMHO, Rick and Newt are unlikely to allign because Rick is so naieve, but as you said, to have a prayer they MUST together get radical and present a united front against Romney at all costs, for us to have a prayer to change the party apparatus, agenda and defeatism of RINO leadership.
I am certain Newt knows this and has tried with smoke signals to confer with Santorum, but Rick is small picture and mostly for Rick, and runs on just enough grandiosity and battle drama to blind him to any need for unity. This is not a sign of wisdom.

We can not be demoralized but instead must push for a united front, and in a serious rebellion against the Establishment, rather than push for one to get out.
Now, the truth is out there.

RitaOK:

Just saw Newt on GRETA, and I am pretty sure he said the same thing we are discussing. I would have to catch it on a rewind, but he is definitly convention bound for a purpose, and it includes hoping to short Romney on delegates.
The odds for change rise or fall with holding delegates from Romney.
The man invented how to score big. He knows.
Just hope we don’t fail to get the message.

I’m on the fence about how long it takes and I’m not real thrilled with the idea of a deadlocked convention. I’m a Santorum guy so I want it to go on as long as it takes to nominate him but it ain’t gonna be easy for the 2nd and 3rd place candidates to do.

we still have the bulk of the northeast states to go and those are pretty much all a lock for Romney.

I salute all the Freepers everywhere who said this would happen. At first, I thought they were all incredibly cynical, but I kept reading all the clues and all the bits pointing that way, and changed my mind. It turns out you all were right... I salute you!! It is still a little jarring to see it come to pass, though. Wow. Everybody plays the conservatives, everybody.

I listened to Beck bash Newt while pretending to support Santorum until I couldn’t stand the hypocrisy anymore.

It’s ironic that Beck is supposedly the guy exposing the Progressives, but as soon as one runs for POTUS from the Mormom Church, that is fine with Glen.

While I respect much of what Glen has done, he is first and foremost a Mormon and because he is completley deceived spiritually, the cult colors everything he says and does. It comes as no surprise he now bends his knees in submission to future Mormon “god” Mit.

“I know I want to get rid of Debbie Stabenow at least as badly as I want to get rid of the emperor.”

Add in that commie whore Granholm. That bitch stole a high five figure amount from me and billions of dollars more from other good and productive Michiganders and gave it to her thieving fascist thugs in Detroit. I want to see granholm dragged back to Michigan in chains and stand trial for her theft and treason. I hear the commie whore is hiding with rats in Bezerkley, California. That’s perfect. It’s near the 1stMarDiv in Camp Pendleton. I can make a call to arrange chasers.

Unfortunately that isn't likely to happen while her democrat AND GOP allies in Lansing still hold power. The best thing we ever did was term limited them all. Now we just gotta keep them from going to Washington.

Spot on. They’re calling Beck an idiot for doing what their candidate or their favorite conservative radio host will be doing just weeks from now.

Nobody will convince me any of our candidates will be as bad as Obama, and it is not going to make me enemies with those who are moving to Romney at this point in the process. . I voted last Saturday in the Washington caucus for somebody maybe most here will approve of, but come November I don’t give a GD who our candidate is, I will be voting for him, to send that disrespectful America hating A-hole back to Chicago

That is the Prime Directive.

The real idiots are those saying they are not voting in November if Romney is the nominee.

I’ll have a tough time bucking up and voting for Romney myself but Beck is telling a simple truth and its ridiculous to deny the fact. I’ll leave that kind of group think to the climatologists.

He’s not endorsing Romney he’s just pointing out that its going to be near impossible for anyone else to win the nomination and that if we want to win the white house we’ll back him when it happens.

The way I see it, a conservative house and senate could make any of our candidates into a fine president.
