From the commie miscreants at Adbusters:
"Hey you wild cats, dreamers, redeemers, horizontals, The stage is set for a climactic showdown in Chicago.
The crisis of capitalism is deepening. Youth unemployment has reached 50% in Spain and Greece 30% in Portugal and Italy 22% in the UK almost 20% in the US. Hundreds of millions of people around the world are waking up to the fact that their future does not compute that their lives will be a never ending series of ecological, financial, political and personal crises and that if we dont rise up and start fighting for a different kind of future, we wont have a future. That struggle ignites again May 1.
#OCCUPYCHICAGO will be the focal point of this global spiritual insurrection 50,000 of us will converge on the windy city and confront the G8 and NATO leaders with an ultimatum. We will set up impromptu encampments throughout the city and wage a full-spectrum memewar backed up by new tactics of anarchic swarming. Our militant in-your-face nonviolence will inspire thousands of towns, cities and campuses around the world to rise up in solidarity just like they did last October."
Well, ladies and gentlemen, it looks like the "Occupy" movement didn't die, it just hibernated for the winter in Mom's Basement. When the "Occupy" movement springs to back to life like a zombie, you can bet your last dollar that the violence that always seems to follow "Occupy" protests will resume.
And why is that ?
The "Occupy" movement was designed to be the terrorist wing of the hard Left, despite all the claims that it was a "non-violent" movement. Creating chaos and committing acts of terror are the primary goals of the the "Occupy" movement. The mutants who make up the "Occupy" movement understand, especially after the "shellacking" the Left took in the 2010 Midterm elections, that the United States always has and always will be a Center-Right country. When push comes to shove, most Americans reject the idea of socialism. In other words, since the Left can't win at the ballot box, they're going to try to win on the streets, and they don't care who's maimed or killed in the process.
Although it's a common practice to "credit" Adbusters (a leftist magazine devoted to exposing the "evils" of American consumerism and capitalism, blah, blah, blah, 2+2=5, yadda, yadda, yadda) co-founder and leftist documentary maker Kalle Lasn as the father of the "Occupy" movement, this may not be entirely true. The true father of the "Occupy" movement may be fellow Adbuster Slavoj Zizek.
(Quick! Someone call Maury Povich!)
Slavoj Zizek ? Didn't he play right wing for the Bruins or something ?
Uh, no. And the last words I would use to describe Slavoj Zizek are "right wing". Zizek is a real deal Red who was a member of the communist party in Slovenia, during the Bad Old Days of the Iron Curtain. Here's what Kevin Williamson, a deputy managing editor at the National Review and adjunct professor at The King's College in New York City, had to say about Zizek in his terrific read, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Socialism:
"It is worth bearing in mind that today's socialists, for all their democratic rhetoric, do not disavow violence, either in rhetoric or in practice. Writing in a 2010 issue of the New Left Review, Slavoj Zizek, arguably the most influential leftist intellectual alive, calls explicitly for the use of violence---as he has in the past---and excuses---as he has in the past--- the atrocities perpetrated by socialists in the name of socialism."
Professor Williamson was on to way more than he realized. The article in question that Zizek penned, "A Permanent Economic Emergency", lays out the basis of the "Occupy" movement. It should be noted that this article appeared approximately 13 months before the unwashed began camping out at Zuccotti Park. Here are the naughty words:
"Closely linked to the necessary de-fetishization of democratic institutions is the de-fetishization of their negative counter-part: violence. For example, [Alain] Badiou [a French leftist who inspired Zizek] recently proposed exercising defensive violence by means of building free domains at a distance from state power, subtracted from its reign (like the early Solidarnosc in Poland), and only resisting by force state attempts to crush and re-appropriate these liberated zones. The problem with this formula is that it relies on a deeply problematic distinction between the normal functioning of the state apparatus and the excessive exercise of state violence. But the ABC of Marxist notions of class struggle is the thesis that peaceful social life is itself an expression of the (temporary) victory of one classthe ruling one. From the standpoint of the subordinated and oppressed, the very existence of the state, as an apparatus of class domination, is a fact of violence. Similarly, Robespierre argued that regicide is not justified by proving the King had committed any specific crime: the very existence of the King is a crime, an offence against the freedom of the people. In this strict sense, the use of force by the oppressed against the ruling class and its state is always ultimately defensive. If we do not concede this point, we volens nolens normalize the state and accept its violence as merely a matter of contingent excesses. The standard liberal mottothat it is sometimes necessary to resort to violence, but it is never legitimateis not sufficient. From the radical-emancipatory perspective, one should turn it around: for the oppressed, violence is always legitimatesince their very status is the result of violencebut never necessary: it is always a matter of strategic consideration whether to use force against the enemy or not."
Still with me ? Hey, wake up!!
(Believe it or not, I didn't make a mistake cutting and pasting the above slop. That was all one paragraph. This Zizek guy is almost as bad as a writer as Adolf Hitler was.)
"Free domains" ?
"Liberated zones" ?
It's funny how many times we heard those words during the whole "Occupy" debacle, isn't it ? Again, keep in mind, "A Permanent Economic Emergency" was published 13 months before the "Occupy" mutants started infesting Zuccotti Park.
Get ready, Chicago. A bumpy ride is ahead.
By the way, it should be noted that Adbusters is partially funded by the Tides Foundation, which is headed by Wade Rathke, who's also a head honcho at SEIU and ACORN. The Tides Foundation is funded by many leftist lunatics like Teresa Heinz Kerry. Noted Jew hater George $oros has also kicked in a few million bucks for the Tides Foundation, as did YOU, the taxpayer.
"The Tides Foundation and Tides Center also receive grants from the U.S. federal government. Between 1997 and 2001, these grants included the following: $395,219 from the Department of Interior; $3,350,431 from the Environmental Protection Agency; $3,487,040 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development; $208,878 from the Department of Agriculture; $39,550 from the Department of Energy; $93,500 from the Small Business Administration; $10,986 from the Department of Health and Human Services; and $84,520 from the Centers for Disease Control U.S. Agency for International Development."
(The dirt on the Tides Foundation also came the above link.)
It’s going to be a very long and very hot summer. I predict that there will be chaos in Tampa, and I don’t think there’s a chance in hell that the GOP will be ready for it.
“In other words, since the Left can’t win at the ballot box, they’re going to try to win on the streets, and they don’t care who’s maimed or killed in the process.”
These crazy kids. They have their whole lives ahead of them!
All us older, retired guys have are high-powered carbines, body armor and tactical training ...
“Its going to be a very long and very hot summer. I predict that there will be chaos in Tampa, and I dont think theres a chance in hell that the GOP will be ready for it.”
Perhaps the Weeper of the House will quiver in a corner.
Thanks Absolutely Nobama.
The “Crisis of Capitalism” ... is caused by socialism
Thanks for the shout out!
They’re coming to the Waldorf to protest Mitt. That beautiful lobby! I hope they don’t trash it too badly. Words can’t express how much I despise these people.
To the wall, street occupiers!
What they’re talking about here is protesting the G8, which has now been moved out of Chicago. So Obama burst their bubble. The G8 is now going to be held at Camp David, which is so far immune from occupation, except for the Occupier in Chief.
True enough. The largest expense the Federal Leviathan has is the myriad of socialist entitelement programs like SCHIP, Medicare, Medicaid, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, TANF, and who knows what else. (Regardless of what Jew hater Ron Paul would ave you believe.)
The OWSers are as vile as maggots. I’m with you.
An advent to socialism is the right's foolish repetition of this fantastical belief as an excuse to avoid the pushing and shoving required to maintain liberty.
Now the want jobs?
I think they’ll do it anyway. We’re not talking about skilled political tactitians, here. OWS is nothing more than a French Revolution-like mob. With OWS, the goal is violence and chaos.
You know, that’s a fantastic point. That never dawned on me.
Last time I ever use that tired line.
Who knows what these dingbats want. They’re stoned 24-7, much like their inbred cousins, the Paultards.
If they keep getting arrested then they remove themselves from the best jobs. Idiots.
The NATO meeting is still going to be in Chicago. All oscambot did was to separate the two so HE wasn’t inconvenienced by the mayhem. He KNEW this was coming because the seiu/acorn has been training these idiots...and he welcomes it.
This is just the beginning.
I don’t expect much local trouble. The Occupy Muncie (IN) group lost their bench to a fire of unknown origin. Then about November they all got cold and went home to play video games, I suppose.
The groups in larger cities, however, should be issued permits with stringent “time, place and manner” conditions. This camping-out for weeks/months and fouling everything they touch, that’s got to stop.
I think the jobs are secondary, if they even matter at all. Many OWSer’s are violent left wing anarchists, and for those folks, it’s all about the violence.
Let me get this straight. They want to destroy capitalism and they want jobs. O..kay. That makes sense /s.
I would like to know what all those people who’s unemployment ran out, and can’t find a job, are doing. How are they surviving?
I hope you’re right. But if Adbusters is pushing this, it could get ugly. They play for keeps.
Maybe 0 and Rahm will be all law & order this summer. It’s a creative way to try to win in Nov.
But is the NATO meeting as sexy to these guys as the G8? I would bet that gets moved too. Obama does not want video to air of his former chief of staff’s police force smashing skulls in on the streets of Chicago during an election year, and will make that as unlikely as he can. Doesn’t mean they won’t try to Occupy Chicago, but it seems stupider than normal that a group named Occupy Wall Street is doing everything but.
Nowhere left to go but welfare.
That is true today but later in life they will regret it.
That’s not an unreasonable theory. Never crossed my mind.
The point is this is a moving operation. It doesn’t stop in Chicago. That is only where it begins. They are well organized, well funded, and well trained. Don’t be lulled. Be ready.
If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.
Funny how these pussies don’t set up shop in say...Odessa Texas.
They would be lucky to get out alive.
They wanted angry rich white kids to "raise awareness" and spread a little pro-socialism vibes with toothless faux-rage protests. Instead they got the anarchists, the crazies, the violent trustafarians with daddy issues, the homeless and the criminals all behaving so disgustingly that they threaten to force the moderates into a right turn right around the election.
The only way to forestall this is for the leftists in power to suddenly crack some skulls.
Dumb f#cking theater, with Jon Stewart and Chris Matthews as co-hosts.
Not a fun summer ahead for the hippies.
Not a fun summer at all.
Great post, FRiend!
Make the streets run red with occupier blood!
They’ll be turned into martyrs.
This is a serious problem.
Hey! Castro is a hero of the OWS. In case some too young to remember.. here is what "To the wall!" means, just trying to help get their message out.
The Infamous Firing Squad -- Thousands of Cubans have died in front of Castro's infamous firing squad. There was no discrimination, as far as the firing squad was concerned. Young and old, black and white, rich and poor were sent to 'el paredón' (the wall). Many of those who helped Castro gain power, like Comandantes Ernesto Sori Marin and William Morgan, an American, were among the thousands who were shot. [my emphasis]
Obama of the forked tongue already praised these people and then sent in Homeland Security to break up the encampments. He gets to have it both ways because of our delightful MSM.
I wonder what if anything any Rs of any level of gov are going to do about the revolution we are in the middle of.
Not a thing, LJ. Not a blessed thing. Not with an election around the corner.
Everyone should check their local laws about carrying a loaded firearm in their vehicle.
I’ve been too busy to read evertything I want to (always am but even more so lately) and it sort of looks (shudder) as though Romney will be forced on us. Then Zero will win.
I am very disheartened about the near term future...
BTW how is your FIL? (Or was it your F? I thought FIL.) I hope he is well.
That ridiculous “occupy” fad is dead as a doornail.
Party over oops, out of time.
Welfare will buy a little food but it won’t pay the utility bills. If we had a press corps in this country there would be stories on the nightly news showing people not buying bread because they had to buy gas to get to work. And people losing their job because they couldn’t afford gas. And people moving into relatives’ garages and showering with a garden hose. But the obama press does not want anyone to see that.
