Ann Coulter seems to be continuing her flirtations with RINOism. First she defended Romneycare. Now she is taking on the Conservative Pundit-Fox News-Complex. Here is the latest heresy from Coulter, courtesy of Jeff Poor:
And just a more corporate problem is I think our party and particularly our movement, the conservative movement, does have more of a problem with con men and charlatans than the Democratic Party, she said. I mean, the incentives seem to be set up to allow people as long as you have a band of a few million fanatical followers, you can make money. The Democrats have managed to figure out how not to do that.
She cited Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean as examples where despite having a loyal following, Democrats havent honored him with even an MSNBC show.
No, no, no you embarrass us and drag this thing out, you are finished in the Democratic Party, she said.
It's true! Michele Bachmann has a book. Herman Cain and Sarah Palin still get to speak at CPAC. Failing upwards is quite common among conservatives and makes it harder for the movement to have space for competent leaders. Coulter was prompted to give this answer after sarcastically noting it is ex-governor Sarah Palin who seems to be most eager to have a brokered convention despite not actually being a candidate for President.
I know many of the commentators will think that Coulter is throwing a giant stone from a glass house, but I would point out that Coulter has never pretended to run for office. It's one thing to be Fox News entertainer. It's even worse to transform from being an elected official into an entertainer.
From the Daily Caller:
Coulter, who was asked about the prospects of a brokered Republican convention, hinted as she has done in the past that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is promoting the idea because she would like to be considered for the GOP nomination should a brokered convention occur. Coulter warned that selecting a candidate that way would void the vetting process that has weeded out inferior candidates.
One of the ones promoting that [a brokered convention] is Sarah Palin, who has suggested herself as the choice, Coulter said. I think as long as its between us girls Ive been observing something about her. I dont think its likely to happen. I dont know what these people are cheering for. As I wrote in a column a few weeks back, who is this dream candidate were hoping to get from the convention, because Rick Perry used to be the dream candidate. Can we see them in a debate first?

Yes, she is.
RINO? I don’t think the word has the meaning it used to. People like Ann Coulter typify today’s Republican; I refuse to associate myself with the word any longer. However, I would say she’s definitely a CINO.
The problem for her is that her few million fanatical followers, and Sarah's, and Michele's, and Newt's, and Santorum's, are essentially the same people. The people who line up to shake Romney's hand are not the same people who line up to buy her books. She has made the mistake of misunderstanding who her public is.
It may cost her.
Sort of like the Dixie Chicks. Just who did they think were buying their albums? Who listens to blue-grass-flavored country pop? The very people they offended.
Ann is playing `Clove’ from District 2 (luxuries) in the movie `The Hunger Games.’
Her specialty is camouflage: She turns sideways and you can’t see her.
All she needs to survive are cartons of single malt scotch and Benson & Hedges Ultralight menthol 100s.
Anyone who can sit and backslap with a night crawler like Bill Maher is suspect, IMO.
Ann knows that any “dream” candidate will be her own Mittens. Warren G. Harding came from a brokered convention.
I think ann is going through menopause... it’s a RINO/Hormonal thing...
backslap requires defining in this case.
Ann is damaged goods. Her book sales are dropping, big time. She only has herself to blame.
This conservative voter is Not coming around to Romney.
Must be worried about a new candidate (Go, Newt. Go, Palin)
Don’t you mean the Chixie Dicks?
Ann, as a MittBott speak for yourself, Sarah Palin is a lady.
[ I think ann is going through menopause... its a RINO/Hormonal thing... ]
For Ann is it “Man-O-Pause”?
I mean, the incentives seem to be set up to allow people as long as you have a band of a few million fanatical followers, you can make money.
Now that all us “fanatical followers” who bought her books and made her a famous conservative, we discover she’s nothing but a deceiptful, shake down artist. Live and learn.
She must be trying to herd up some fanatical democrats to buy her books and pay her speaking fees since conservatives are onto her scam.
to quote my daughter: ew.
You know, she could be. I didn’t realize she was 50 years old....thought she was younger.
She isn’t a RINO. She’s suffering early dementia and is being influenced by whoever she’s sleeping with currently. Sorry, but that’s my opinion.
Ann is about 48-49, not 50
I once had her high school yearbook photo
she graduated in 81 I think, 81 or 82
I don’t give a fat $hit about Coulter anymore. May she continue adoring a homosexual loving, mandated healthcare, lying, abortion loving (I don’t believe him for a second) Mitten Romney.
She can go to hell.
Indeed she is.
Too bad. Ann is very intelligent and has written hundreds of great columns over the years. And she has been a great friend of FreeRepublic. But she has definitely lost it. And there’s no way at this stage that the left is going to welcome her over to their side.
Arlen Specter learned that the hard way, smart as he was. Nobody loves a traitor. He gave them the crucial votes they needed. Then the Democrats did what was inevitable: they used him up and threw him away.
Men-O-Pause n the drapes don’t match he carpet. Coulter has gone over to the dark side that some women embrace after things dry up....
She is a lawyer living in Manhattan.
No boy friend.
Coulter has gone insane if she thinks charlatanism is worse for the GOP, the Democrats elect them for life.
Ann is taking one for the team. She is pissing off the conservatives and in response they are rejecting Romney.
She is pissing off the libs, because they are idiots anyway.
And the ones n the middle are buying her books.
Win, win, win.
I think it was Palin she was alluding to, and I’m sure I know why. To know what I think of Coulter at this point check my tagline, and remember that Krispy Kreme was her perfect candidate
No Coulter for me today, thanks.
Its pretty clear that Coulter do not like Palin personally. Coulter have been trashing Palin for quite a while now
Coulter have always been an Elitist ont he right. She look down at other right wingers
I think she has just about used her 15 minutes up!
This from someone who is a “political” celebrity. Coulter also recently stated that Romney “owes” her... that sounds to me like someone who will back down on her principles for political gain... she gets no respect from me.
Ann is becoming so toxic that respectable people like Hannity and Glenn Beck and Laura Ingram will have to stop having her on their radio shows.
That gal ain’t right in the haid.
Is it possible that Ann and others of her ilk
are not RINOs but chickens? If she truly thinks
that Mitty is the only one who can solve the
BO problem this November does that make her a
RINO? How ‘bout just wrong?
I think Coulter has put herself out there
for the libs to scorn and hate too long to
be relegated to RINO status. Unlike our
Dimo friends we know the meaning of mercy.
Or do we?
Today she is Ann Coulter. In a decade she will be Eleanor Clift. I almost pity her.
“Its pretty clear that Coulter do not like Palin personally.”
She never did. The state of envy is an ugly and bitter place to be.
Ann Coulter: RINO?!
Say, isn't Anne one of those fanatics? Is she a "con man"? Hmm. I know that Fluke gal certainly gives me LGBS vibes, but......... well, we won't get into that.
