Hello Troops, I don’t trust you…

For the first time in history U.S. Marines, in a war zone, were ordered to surrender their arms while attending a dog and pony show speech by a visiting Secretary of Defense. Before addressing 200 troops gathered at Camp Leatherneck. As Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta’s plane was landing a suicide driver attempted to ram it, but crashed into a ditch before it could get onto the runway. Mr. Panetta and his entourage were not hurt.

Overreaction

In a case of overreaction the base commander, Major General Charles Gurganus, ordered the camp Sargent Major to have the attending Marines secure their arms outside and return to the tent. In a war zone in an area where a probable terrorist act had just occurred this is not a wise move, but alas very politically correct.

Political Correctness

As reported in the New York Times “General Gurganus told reporters later that he had wanted a consistent policy for everyone in the tent, and that “I wanted to have the Marines look just like their Afghan partners,”

I wonder if Secretary Panetta sought UN permission to travel to Afghanistan...

Prediction....Since Panetta didn't switch planes from a highly visible 747 to a C-17 in Europe before he traveled in country the terrorist will know when to strike the next time because the majority of the troops on the base will be unarmed.

No guns allowed around the weasels who run this evil socialist regime....someone might get hurt.

It’s best that members of the current cabal that busily works towards the destruction of America stays completely away from the troops.

So why is the WH security not told to secure their arms? Is somebody scared or something?

So you’re going to take away weapons from the one
group of people that could defend the Secretary of Defense
from a suicide bomber.

Yea....that makes sense.

I wouldn’t go to see him then. THE FIRST RULE OF FIGHTING - NEVER LET DOWN YOUR GUARD.

The White Hut forces are amazed that no one has taken a serious shot at our leader(s).

There is a rumor that unknown forces are suggesting to the soon-to-be-released Hinkley that a current resident in the White Hut has been doing weird things to Jody Foster.

Panetta was really afraid of the Afghan soldiers who were also attending. The Afghan soldiers were ordered to leave their weapons outside of the room, and so that they wouldn't have their itty bitty fweelings hurt, a certain Marine Corps General ordered the Leathernecks to do the same.

You can tell when a war is winding down when the PC factor starts creeping up...

I am fairly certain they were ordered to “go see him” since otherwise it would have looked bad if there were only a few people there to see such an “important” person.

I guess old Frequent Flyer Leon must be the secretary of defense for Afghanistan too if the Afghans have to see him.

And people here criticize me when I suggest America may need their own Pinochet.

Let the Messiah be re elected. We won't have a country anymore. Maybe We'll resemble Zimbabwe, except we'll "print" money via computer; i.e., qualitative easing, instead of the fed running the printing presses.

Actually there is precedent for this. Bill Clinton was so incredibly unpopular in the military that he was advised of many military bases and ships where he could not go, “as his security could not be guaranteed.”

Unlike Jimmy Carter, who frightened sailors who believed him to be a “Jonah”, extremely bad luck, when Clinton visited the Enterprise, sailors were first assembled, then asked to put up their hands if they had “any problem with Clinton or his policies.”

Those who put their hands up were ordered below decks to a secure area where they were placed under watch by armed warrant officers until Clinton had left.

For some reason, Republican presidents don’t seem to have these problems. If anything, their minders have to remind them that they have a schedule, so can’t hang out with the soldiers and sailors as long as they like.

“The Left knows who their real enemy is and it ain’t the taliban.

Can you imagine the terror of leftists like Panetta facing an armed soldier who no longer trusts you and believes that you are a traitor and threat to all you hold dear?

Only to point this out....but after you take a Marines pistol and rifle...he’s still a minimum of one knife on him...and he’s trained in hand-to-hand combat. If you ask me....nobody in that building was any safer than they were before.

Wonder how many of the detained career’s suffered?

I am glad in many respects I did 4 plus some NG/NR time and gave it up for health and a few other reasons.

The asinine rules and PC atmosphere is hard enough to grasp reading about it but living/working in it as the typical armed forces type is almost unimagineable.

Those troops murdered at Ft. Hood by the terrorist Maj. Hussan were also unarmed and had to depend on armed civilian security forces to end the shooting. Of course the terrorist had no problem getting a weapon or bringing it on base.
