Church Leader: Like Trayvon Martin, Obama Probably Was 'Profiled'

By Ian Duncan March 23, 2012 Reporting from Washington — At a White House summit, Atty. Gen. Eric Holder assured African American church leaders that he was conducting a thorough investigation of the shooting of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida.

But one of the leaders present said concerns remained about the killing and the local and federal investigations.

“This is a horrifically challenging, despicable situation and felt much more so for the laissez-faire attitude of the powers that be in that community,” said Bishop Donald Hilliard, speaking by phone during a break in the meeting. “After a while one gets tired of the same old script being played out again and again.”

Hilliard is the leader the Covenant Ecumenical Fellowship and Cathedral Assemblies, a church organization based in New Jersey.

Referring to recent hate-crime guilty pleas of three men in connection with a murder in Mississippi, Hilliard portrayed Martin’s case as another in a string of racially motivated killings.

Hilliard said he was unsure if the federal investigation into the shooting of Martin would be successful.

“Let’s just say I’m hopeful that justice will prevail,” he said. “I pray to God that this time justice will prevail.”

So? I’m white and I’ve been profiled by cops, while driving through predominantly black or hispanic neighborhoods. One time, they pulled a friend and myself over, with no probable cause, ordered us out of the vehicle, and proceeded to begin searching it without permission, asking “where are the drugs?” Works both ways.

The cynic in me notes that this is an opportunity for a little bit of blowback against the Democrats who are playing the race card. They are playing the race card against an Hispanic and the one thing Obama certainly cannot afford is to lose the Hispanic vote in the upcoming election.

There comes a time when playing the race card become so destructive of civil society that it must be deterred even if it can be accomplished only by Mutual Assured Destruction.

There is no hope that this will occur mainly because Republicans have been so cowed and shrink from these issues. Democrats for their part would not shrink from playing the race card if they were in our shoes and they would generate Astroturf reactions to the playing of the race card by the a political party on behalf of African-Americans against Hispanics. They would find Hispanic spokesmen to raise issues of black on Hispanic crime, to raise issues of racial preference for blacks over Hispanics, to raise issues of stereotypes against Hispanics being done right now by African-Americans, to demand justice for Zimmerman, the Hispanic-American.

Pity he does not have a typically Hispanic name.

The spokesman would gain television time somehow and confusion would begin to grow in the Hispanic community about whether their interests are in fact truly represented by the Democrat party.

They might conclude that Obama's son might not look like them

Perhaps Democrats might begin to shrink from playing the race card when they are confronted with a nuclear response.

While the Zimmerman/Martin ‘white’ on black killing is covered 24/7 on the MSM with an outpouring of rage and charges of a racial hate crime, where is the concern- where is the rage about the home invasion, torture, beating, rape and murder of the elderly white couple by a gang of feral blacks in Oklahoma just last week?

The 90 year old war veteran husband was beaten and his jaw broken. He was shot in the face numerous times with a BB gun and sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The 85 year old partially blind wife was RAPED and then BEATEN TO DEATH.
(She was most likely gang raped numerous times...but we will never know for sure)

Both the husband and wife were weak, having just gotten over the flu.

Chris and Channon were kidnapped and driven to 2316 Chipman Street where they were forced into the home at gunpoint. While Channon was forced to watch, her boyfriend was raped prison style and then his penis was cut off. He was later driven to nearby railroad tracks where he was shot and set afire. But Channon’s hell was just beginning.

She was beaten; gang raped repeatedly in many ways, had one of her breasts cut off and bleach poured down her throat to destroy DNA evidence-all while she was still alive. To add to Channon’s degradation the suspects took turns urinating on her. They too set her body afire, apparently inside the residence, but for some reason left her body there-in five separate trash bags.*
