Rick Santorum Convicts Trayvon Martin Shooter On Hannity Show
The Conservative Review ^ | Mar.23, 2012 | Marcus Porcius

Posted on 03/24/2012 8:10:55 AM PDT by Josh Painter

Just moments ago on the Sean Hannity radio show, GOP candidate and RINO Rick Santorum took it upon himself to convict George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case. He said, and I’m paraphrasing slightly:

*It was a heinous crime and he did a despicable, unjustifiable thing and the Sanford police should have reacted to that immediately.*

Again, I am paraphrasing a little as I did not have a recorder running to get his exact words, but that was essentially his statement.

To further paraphrase, in this case Anti-President Obama, Rick Santorum acted stupidly. He doesn’t know all the facts. He wasn’t there. He hasn’t seen the scene of the shooting. He doesn’t know if there was a disparity of force involved, which justifies using a gun. He doesn’t know who started the fight. He doesn’t actually know anything. Nobody but George Zimmerman actually knows what happened and why. The rest of us will have to wait until the evidence comes out… and it will come out.

But not Rick Santorum. Not when you’re in a race to make sure you don’t get called racist for not being properly outraged that a black teen was shot. No, then you run (don’t walk) to the nearest microphone and to all intents and purpose call George Zimmerman a racist murderer and the Sanford police his accomplices. It’s pathetic and obvious pandering.

If this is an example of his leadership, Rick Santorum has no business in the White House. Not that I thought he did in the first place, of course, but this just confirms it.

Race pandering deserves an F every time.

Good Lord Almighty, what an irresponsibly dangerous thing to say.

Santorum has just removed himself from any consideration for higher office. He clearly does not have the temperament.

The Police arrived, saw a bloodied Zimmerman and could not think of anything to charge him with.

The media conveniently left out that Trayvon was not a “YOUNG BOY” but a 6’2 football player.

I just don’t know what the prosecutor can charge G.Z with at this point.

Public figures like shoot from the lip Santorum and even Allen West are inflaming this situation and inflamed tensions only serves the divider in chief.

Great points and I agree. Now that this damned event has become so political, I hope that Martin’s records will not be excluded. Everyone should know WHY he was suspended from school for 5 days - and in a neighborhood far from where he lived.

Praying that the truth will come out & that the grand jury will get ALL of the evidence.

I have yet to see a single sign of leadership from Santorum that allows me to conclude he has true leadership ability.

Go Newt, go Perry, go Palin, go DeMint. They are the best we have in the arena right now.

Santorum isn’t being reckless.

He needed to get the focus off his comment about Romney.

It’s working.

Besides the Zimmerman flap, Santorum has also backed off the Romney thing:

Based on what is known about the incident, the guy needs to be prosecuted. You can’t chase someone down and then claim self defense.

Presidents traditionally stay away from this sort of thing and leave it up to the authorities.

Never waste a crisis...

Santorum was my choice of the remaining candidates, but it seems he never met a controversy he didn’t like to wade in to, open his flapping yapper, and say something IDIOTIC.

DITTO.

It was self-defense, regardless of what the race-baiter in chief in the white hut or Al not so Sharpton or harelip Jackson have to say about it. I personally hope Zimmerman is cleared of all charges and that his legal expenses are paid for by the deceased’s family.

Wrong. Zimmerman had a right to be there and Martin had no right to assault him with fists.

Does this remind anyone of Obama’s “Stupidly” remark that gave us the infamous “Beer Summit”?

Rick (Dead Baby) Santorum has to go.

Hopping on the bandwagon with Barky is a poor way to get elected President.

Rick is or never has been a contender.... That said this case is closed.

The evidence, the witness an the laws already on the books prevail over all the race baiting from polidiits an presstitutes.

Zimmerman walks an justifiably so till some racist nut murders him after being worked up by these pandering idgits ......

My opinion only.

Presidents traditionally stay away from this sort of thing and leave it up to the authorities.

Except you forget the fact that the POTUS is the number 1 racist in the country.

Wow, Santorum’s “the cops acted stupidly” moment...

Zimmerman isn't a Cop. In Cambridge, the Cops didn't gun down the home owner.

As a former Prosecutor of 25 years I can say for sure we don’t know if it was a crime. I am a Santorum supporter and he clearly stepped over the line here.

I can also say for sure that the failure to investigate by taking Zimmerman into custody, running drug tests, questioning him, etc is ineptitude of the highest order. Had he wrecked his car he would have even gotten a blood test.

Unarmed kid is dead and they take Zimmerman at his word? In Fairfax County, VA they would have fired the lo of them. This is as bad as police work can possibly get.
