Rick Santorum Convicts Trayvon Martin Shooter On Hannity Show
The Conservative Review ^ | Mar.23, 2012 | Marcus Porcius

Posted on 03/24/2012 8:10:55 AM PDT by Josh Painter

Just moments ago on the Sean Hannity radio show, GOP candidate and RINO Rick Santorum took it upon himself to convict George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case. He said, and I’m paraphrasing slightly:

*It was a heinous crime and he did a despicable, unjustifiable thing and the Sanford police should have reacted to that immediately.*

Again, I am paraphrasing a little as I did not have a recorder running to get his exact words, but that was essentially his statement.

To further paraphrase, in this case Anti-President Obama, Rick Santorum acted stupidly. He doesn’t know all the facts. He wasn’t there. He hasn’t seen the scene of the shooting. He doesn’t know if there was a disparity of force involved, which justifies using a gun. He doesn’t know who started the fight. He doesn’t actually know anything. Nobody but George Zimmerman actually knows what happened and why. The rest of us will have to wait until the evidence comes out… and it will come out.

But not Rick Santorum. Not when you’re in a race to make sure you don’t get called racist for not being properly outraged that a black teen was shot. No, then you run (don’t walk) to the nearest microphone and to all intents and purpose call George Zimmerman a racist murderer and the Sanford police his accomplices. It’s pathetic and obvious pandering.

If this is an example of his leadership, Rick Santorum has no business in the White House. Not that I thought he did in the first place, of course, but this just confirms it.

Race pandering deserves an F every time.

Too bad you aren’t advising them. Hannity is also afraid to simply say that the investigation needs to be completed before conclusions are reached.

Newt Gingrich says Zimmerman chose a dangerous hobby and that he stepped outside the law

I didn't find that quote exactly, but what I found in several stories was close:

While campaigning in Louisiana, Gingrich described Zimmerman as "a guy who found a hobby that is very dangerous" and said he "was clearly overreaching" his watch responsibilities.

"I suspect that justice will be done and I think it is a tragedy. In that sense you have to understand how much of a tragedy it is for the family and for the young man involved," Gingrich said.

Sometimes when incidents such as this occur, many conservatives view it as a chance to show their “I’m not a racist” boni fides. This is one of those cases because a fair number have jumped in to condemn Zimmerman before all the evidence is in.

Don’t know how this will turn out, but no one has had enough of the evidence yet to jump to the conclusions many have arrived at the past several days. Hannity has already done some backtracking from his earlier statements.

Can you post a link to the thug pictures of little sweet Trayvon? I have heard that the primary picture that is being posted was a picture of him in his younger days to hide the fact that he was quite a bit larger than Zimmerman.

Zimmerman did not chase somebody down and then claim self defense.

That is the media’s storyline—there is much more to this than that.

What if Trayvon Had Been White, and the Shooter Black?

Few outside the county where it happened would even have heard about it.

Zimmerman chased after Martin and created the situation. Be has no defense unless he has positive knowledge that Martin had committed a felony.

Obama has been looking for a situation to exploit to start race riots in order to energize the black vote.
Now, the R’s need to step back and wait for law enforcement to do their job.
Leadership is NOT shooting off your mouth on every thing that happens.
Let’s see who shows leadership in this. Then after the investigation results are known, let’s see who pounds Obama and Santorum for throwing gas on the fire.
Interesting...........

Based on what is known about the incident, the guy needs to be prosecuted. You can’t chase someone down and then claim self defense.

Clearly, you haven't read the latest news. I fell for the original stories too, but should have known better - especially when being ginned up by the mainstream press. There's much more to the story and evidently Zimmerman has injuries to prove he was attacked and has a witness - which is why he wasn't charged in the first place.

Santorum is a disaster.

Biden makes gaffs.
Santorum believes what he says. Then his supporters come out and complain he was misquoted or misunderstood. There is a big difference.

I can excuse these a few times. This is a regular occurrence with Santorum, so it's who he is.

Imagine this clown as president? God only knows what he'll say. It's time for people to wake up. We need a brokered convention to eliminate these people.

And for the record, I'm not pleased with Newt's response on this either.

I'm no politician, but how about this for a response when asked by the media?

“I am not aware of all the facts of this incident. I only know what is being reported, so it's inappropriate for me to comment further. Let all the facts of the case come out before any one of us comments further and adds negatively to this situation.”

Great a RINO, A corrupt Big Government Republican and now a Race pandering idiot. I don’t care who gets the nomination at this point, I’m writing in Palin with Fred Thompson for VP and Chuck Norris for Secretary of Defense. (I know you don’t vote for SECEDF, but I’ll pencil it in at the bottom of the ballot.

When the 911 operator told Zimmerman to stop following Martin, Zimmerman should have stopped.

If Martin had had a gun, he would have been more justified I’m shooting Zimmerman.

Incredible. In little less than a week we have witnessed Rick Santorum turn into Joe Biden. How do these Democrats pull these tricks?

I don’t believe the operator told Zimmerman to stop following Martin.

I believe the operator said he didn’t need to.

Big difference.

Why do you seem to have an agenda about this?

None of us even know what happened yet.

Newt said something not to different. I guess all these idiots are willing to convict the man without knowing the facts if they think it will get them the 1 percent of black votes that aren’t going for Obama no matter what.
