Common sense: Why Romney will not maximize white conservative, evangelical turnout and lose to Obama
March 25, 2012 | techno

Posted on 03/25/2012 12:56:59 PM PDT by techno

10 common sense reasons based on my knowledge of human perception, human relationships and leadership and motivational skills why I believe Mitt Romney will NOT maximize conservative, evangelical turnout and lose to Obama:

1)Lack of AFFINITY for Mitt Romney among voters. For those in Rio Linda, it means a lack of identification or a NATURAL LIKING or a lack of CONNECTION between people. Romney is simply not a lot of people's cup of tea demographically or culturally, let alone politically.

2)Extreme anger and indignation at Romney's carpet-bombing tactics against both Gingrich and Santorum. Many conservatives will be willing to forgive and forget and bury the hatchet at the convention, but not everyone.

3)Buying into Santorum's argument (which I agree with) there is "little difference between Tweedledum and Tweedledee." (Romney and Obama)

4)Mitt Romney is NOT a likable or sympathetic character as McCain or Dole were as war veterans who had been physically maimed. Some conservatives voted for McCain and Dole as payback for the service to their country. Romney will NOT pick up these voters.

5) Religious reasons--polls over the years have consistently shown there is a segment of the evangelical population who in their heart of hearts tell pollsters they cannot or will not vote for Romney, a Mormon.

6)Mitt Romney is destined to only command 40% of the primary vote. There will be a widespread feeling among conservative and evangelicals that he is "a pretender to the throne" and that he doesn't deserve my vote.

7)Etch a Sketch will come back to haunt and define Romney. Some voters will NOT vote for a candidate they don't TRUST implicitly. Like McCain with illegal immigration, Romney with Romneycare will cause more passionate, ideological voters to opt not to vote at all.

8)The Left and media will make Romney into a repugnant character. For those in Rio Linda, repugnant is defined as somebody or something that is offensive and COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE or revolting. Personally, I am already there on Romney; it won't take much to convince other conservatives of that perception as well.

9)Not all conservatives and evangelicals are Republicans. A good number are INDEPENDENT voters and have no connection with Romney whatsoever which include white working class conservatives and mid-western and southern evangelicals.

10)Mitt Romney is NOT talented enough a politician or charismatic enough to maximize white conservative, evangelical turnout. The narrative "vote for me because you hate Obama more than you hate me" will NOT work on everybody.

Fine, so let one of the other candidates beat him in the republican primaries.

Imho there are very few ways for Obama to win reelection.

Running against Mittens in the general is one of them.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.” — Author Unknown

The number ‘10’ has a mysterious awe about happenings eg. Commandments, knockout count, etc. I would bet you could have added one more reason to make a total of ‘11’ and a winner.

#3 No difference.

Mitt admits he's a republican because nobody ran against him.

Mitts ties to conservatism, and the R party, by Mitt himself.

I will never vote for Romney in any election. The Eastern liberal take us for granted just like they did when Bush 1 lied and raised Taxes. Just like that idiot bob Dole. Just like that horrible McCain. They will learn again I guess. To Hell with Romney.I just hope he has another political wheel come off like his “etch a sketch” announcement. In the mean time Santorum is going to win Pennsylvania and TEXAS!! Huge delegate counts. Pray Romney keeps screwing up. Does he wear magic underwear like Mormons do?

People need to write to their congressman, their state GOP chairs, and to the national GOP chair and tell them that Romney cannot win.

They’re counting on us to do as we’re told but we need to tell them that we will not. Even if you intend to hold your nose and vote for Romney, I ask you to tell the GOP that you won’t.

So what? If Santorum or Newt is the guy, there will be other parts of the Republican Party that won’t get out and vote for them and Obama will beat them too. The Conservative wing of the Repub Party cannot elect anyone by themselves either. This is getting more foolish every day.

So who would be a stronger candidate?

Not just with this one group, but with the electorate as a whole.

The Republican nominee (no matter which candidate) will win the presidential election in one of the deepest, broadest landslides in American history.

Imho there are very few ways for Obama to win reelection.

Romney is a sure-fired way for Obama to win re-election, in fact, the MSM, the DNC, and Obama are salivating at the prospect of facing Mitt Romney.

With his progressive liberal record as Governor of MA, all the MSM has to due is bring up the treasure trove of left-wing behavior and actions of Mitt and they know they can totally destroy the potential candidate of Romney.

Talk about having your head in the sand.

Romney is the only candidate gauranteed to usher in a landslide victory for Obama of epic proportions.

With Romney's EXTREME Progressive Liberal record, Obama and his minions in the MSM will utterly destroy him with his own words and actions.

Obama won't even break a sweat.

Romney's Progressive Liberal Record:

1. Implemented and supported Gay Marriage
2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption
3. Supported the Brady Bill
4. Implemented a state-level "Assault" Weapons Ban AFTER the Federal AWB was allowed to expire.
5. Supported TARP
6. Believes in Man-Made Global Warming.
7. Supported a state level Cap-and-Trade system in MA.
8. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (pathway to citizenship)
9. Raised taxes/fees by 300% while governor of MA.
10. Implemented a Socialist Health-Care program in MA called RomneyCare with $50 dollar Abortions and an Individual Mandate.

This is a very poignant summary of the conditions existing in the USA today. I believe the dilemma facing the USA results from unbridled immigration policies over the years to be accommodating to many people from all over the world who are here legally and illegally not to be citizens of the USA Constitution but instead to propagate the the world from which they ran away from. My parents were immigrants and despite some rude encounters my brother who was killed on Okinawa and myself an over seas vet of WWII were always taught by our mother (father had died before I was born) that to be proud of the USA was the most important thing in our lives and this was during the very rough days of the depression.
