It's a BS poll in a liberal paper but it is more than 2-1 in favor of the smart people.
In that case, look for the poll to be taken down due to “technical difficulties” or some such BS.
Should the Florida Legislature repeal the Stand Your Ground law?

Funny I’ve NEVER seen a Poll that asks...
Should the United States repeal the UNCONSTITUTIONAL 16th Amendment and abolish the income tax and IRS?
Course we wouldn’t want any knee jerk reactions.
I'm not quite sure how George Zimmerman - flat on his back, with Martin on top of him bashing his head against the sidewalk - could have retreated. So Stand Your Ground has utterly no relevance here, but don't expect the liberal idiots who hate the concept of self-defense to grasp that concept.
They saw an opportunity to attack improvements in self-defense laws, such as Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground. And as the facts come out, those attacks are backfiring on them, as we see here. Most Americans understand the concept of self defense just fine, and don't want the U.S. to become like Britain. Which drives liberals nuts.
Bump.
The author's an idiot. The 'reasonably believe' standard is subject to review and is measured against a reasonable man standard. Individuals aren't protected by Stand Your Ground merely by telling themselves they 'reasonably' believe they are responding to a potentially lethal threat.
And the author may never have read the law, because the law also applied in the case of a threat of 'great bodily harm' not just a potential lethal threat. Those who write editorials should start first by reading and understanding the subject matter about which they write.

The MAJORITY IS SPEAKING IS ANYONE LISTENING?
Florida should change the law from Conceal Carry to Open Carry...
Criminals always are protected and the law abiding citizens are always at fault... Things need to be change.... The first thing everyone does is pull the race card.... When is everyone going to get over the history and live in the today?
No, in fact it should enact thug control laws.
Poll: Since welfare fraud is rampant, should congress repeal the welfare laws?
FAIL ....
Funny Ive NEVER seen a Poll that asks..." Should the United States repeal the { } 16th Amendment and abolish the income tax and IRS? "
I left out, "unconstitutional." from above. It isn't. Congress, the States, and Executive should repeal both the 16th & 17th amendments. Imho, it will give the country a chance to survive...it's that serious.
And no, you won't see a poll question like that.

No. Clean up the languuage so it’s crystal clear that you cannot pursue and assert SYG. Moving the ground creates what we have right now. Crime watch slogan is eyes and ears, not legs and arms. We just got an email directive from our Crime Watch to never approach anyone. Watch, look and listen.
I thought this comment underneath the article very good.
“What I hate about this story is that the death of this young man, Trayvon Martin, is being exploited to the greatest degree possible by virtually everyone, media and politicians, Jackson and Sharpton, the anit gun gang and the racists on both sides. It is though the truth doesn’t matter: that the spin will reveal the truth. It never has.”
“What is worse is that it is misrepresented by all reports. It is becomming a black vs white issue, a gun control vs gun owner issue, a rich vs poor issue. It is being exploited to devide the nation, red vs blue politicaly, south vs north socially, and casts anyone that has a gun as a nut.”
“The constitution was designed to apply to us all. Trayvon Martin, should have been protected by it, and his killer has the same rights. Just as I trust the government to fight our wars: I trust it to protect our rights. This means letting the investigation take it’s course. It did a great, if sometimes slow, job of that in previous times and I am confident it will again, if allowed to. “
“I’m not ready to surrender my rights because someone abuses them, or take away those of another because he appears to be a bad actor. That is what makes our country great. We don’t chop of heads or riot. We don’t cater to every mob or interest group. We protect the right of every citizen to a day in court. If we think an injustice exists, we insist on a trial or appeal. We are better than all of this noise suggests. If not, we will all pay the price, not just the shooter or Trayvon Martin.”
Self defense is in the eye of the asserter.
The Liberal Miami Herald is seeking to find more positive votes to their poll question, at this particular time, banking on the ignorance of many people that the current death of a young blak man has something to do with this law; which it doesn’t.

And replace with what?
Stand and get mugged, robbed, raped or assaulted?
Did the directive instruct you to remain stationary? I understand never approach, my question is whether your agreement allows you to relocate yourself to maintain visual contact with a person you find suspicious.

These freaks of nature are both asses and idiots.
For me... If I think I am about to die, I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO ELIMINATE THE THREAT, regardless of any law these morons come up with, period.
George Z. said "they always get away." I don't call anyone "they".
You are the last person in the world I would want on my neighborhood watch. Can’t trust you or anything you say.
An email went out to everyone who lives here. Somebody siphoned a gas tank. I”m not on a neighborhood watch but our President doesn’t want any of us to get shot cuz we do a lot of walking around here with and without pets.

How can an amendment be unconstitutional? Unless, as some say, it was never properly passed, in which case it IS unconstitional but ISN'T an amendment.
Well, at least if they want to tell the truth. This guy's a lib so all that would be extraneous effort.
