A handful of senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court not to overturn the Affordable Care Actmore widely known as Obamacare.
The court commands no armies, it has no money; it depends for its power on its credibility, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) said. The President is Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful army in the world. Congress has control over more spending than any other entity in the world. The Justices need to consider whether they want to lock horns with these other branches of government.
Senator John Kerry (D-Mass) took issue with contentions that the 2700-page health care law hasnt been properly vetted. I admit I didnt have time to read it before I voted for it, Kerry said. But I was assured by Solicitor General Kagan that the bill was Constitutional. Im sure that now she is on the Supreme Court she will uphold the laws validity.
And lets not forget that there have been more than 30 lower court decisions upholding the health care law, Kerry added. Lets face it, the President conceived it. Congress passed it. The people want it. And fellow judges have upheld it. Do the members of the Supreme Court really want to swim against this tide?
The possibility that President Obama might just ignore an unfavorable Court ruling cannot be discarded. It wouldnt be the first time something like that has happened, Press Secretary Jay Carney observed. President Jackson set the precedent for it back in 1832. President Obama will enforce the laws as he sees fit. The Justices should keep that in mind as they mull over their decision.

Absolutely UNREAL to think that in the USA we would have such stupidity and arrogance.
What a shame. Kerry is a disgrace.
Hey Dems ... its called “checks and balances.” Look it up.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh oooh. A real head shaker John.
Threats?
Threats to the Supreme Court?
Wouldn’t that me at a minimum, interfering with court business, or possible attempting to intimidate the judiciary.
What does the army have to do with it? The Court determines if it is Constitutional. It doesnt say you cant re-write it.
Let’s see, imagine you are 1 of the 9 Supremes - you have dedicated your life to the study of the law, and having reached the pinicle of your career - you are given a LIFE-long appointment to the highest court of the land. You never run for election, you serve your post until you either die, or decide to resign it.
Now - some Congress-critter decides that you need to be threatened to decide a bill before you. How would you respond?
If I were ‘on the fence’ before, I’d have a very strong opposition now. People don’t like to be threatened; especially by bed-wetting, incompetent and impotent fools.
Let me remind these senators that:
The president is there thru the will of the idiots that elected him.
Senators are only there at the will of THE PEOPLE who elect them
Congress is there at the will of THE PEOPLE
JUSTICES OF THE SUPREME COURT ARE THERE FOR LIFE!!
Seems, in their rush to explain how the Gov. works, these blind Constitution haters left out the biggest part of the equasion. WE THE PEOPLE. I expect nothing less from socialist idiots.
Nov. 2012
They wouldn’t know anything about that.
Folks, it’s satire.
DUDE!.........satire........get it?
I don’t recall any other time in history when one branch flat out threatened another like what I read in this article. It is absolutely disgraceful.
The sad thing is, the satire from this site is so accurate, I generally get three or four paragraphs into it before I realize it is fake and who it is from.
Very well done, sir - as usual.
Kerry and Blumenthal. No credibility problem there.
Oh brother, and it’s not even April 1st anymore. I got nailed. LOL
WTF do you think this is, Blumenthal??? Your little liberal feifdom of Connecticut?? Screw off.

Makes my blood boil, comments on each:

The President is Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful army in the world. Congress has control over more spending than any other entity in the world. -Does this idiot understand checks and balances? Is he threatening the Supreme Court Justices? I think Dick Blumenthal should be censured and tossed out.
- Kerry delegated his responsibility to Kagan, how nice... I doubt Kerry has YET to read the bill. I’m also sickened over Kagan’s failure to recuse herself as a SCOTUS justice.
And lets not forget that there have been more than 30 lower court decisions upholding the health care law, Kerry added. Lets face it, the President conceived it. Congress passed it. The people want it. And fellow judges have upheld it. Do the members of the Supreme Court really want to swim against this tide?
- The people want it? What is this clown smoking?

- I’m confident that Barry intends to ignore it. If he does, the GOP in Washington had better make clear to the country what a dictator is.
No greater hubris than that coming from the a**hole who occupies our nation's White House.
America’s survival hangs in the balance.. Sorry, not laughing.
Yes
Yes it would
It is very ill advised that they did this
Almost like blackmail
We live in a time in the US where satire is so close to the truth that it is indistinguishable. LOL
Just a request - Please stop posting these “semi-news, satire” pieces. The titles raise my blood pressure and I’m half-way through the article when I realize I’ve been faked-out again.
It’s annoying, to me at least, because the left wing is so crazy and outrageous that it’s becoming more and more difficult to satire what they do - and, thus more difficult to “get” that what we are reading is satire. Are there not enough TRUE sickening left wing stories that these semi/satire/news guys need to make up new ones?
My blood pressure is bad enough already - these semi-news guys are like people yelling “fire”, then when you coming running to help, they say, “hey, just kidding - great joke, huh?”. I just want to punch them in the face for getting me all worked up.
Yes, I could read all the small print under the title of the post and see that it’s “semi-news” crap, but sometimes I don’t. Create a “semi-news, satire” blog or forum to post your creations.
Anyway, just my two cents.
With you, every day is April Fools Day.
It’s lame satire.
It's not satire, even though it's (mis)labeled as such. This is what they believe and think whenever they fail to use the SCOTUS to advance the leftist agenda.
It’s really a shame Kerry is regarded such a babbling moron, otherwise that statement would really cause some damage.
CRAP!
...always check the thread topic............*facepalm*
The obozo is finally admitting that he is a tyrant and yet congress does NOTHING to uphold their SWORN oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. Instead, they write laws expressly to shackle the people to protect themselves from citizen backlash for their allowing the demise of the country. The level of corruption in DC has reached its apex and holding national office is nothing more than a position to exploit for self gain. A tar and feather response is not enough to clean up this mess.
Interesting that Blumenthal is talking about the Army. Wasn’t this the bozo that claimed for decades to have served in Vietnam, then remembered he hadb’t?
Sorry John, you lost your creditability with me.
What a Maroon !!! Told by the SG that it was constitutional - so it MUST be so ...
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ is clearly displayed. If you click on it it will take you to John’s blog that you suggested he create.
Why are you blaming someone else for your blood pressure, lack of comprehension and reading skills?
He has been posting here for many years. I’m surprised he is still able to catch as many as he does.
Umm. Intimidation? Like that’s going to go far.
Give it up DemonRATs! Your goose is cooked.
I wonder how the liberals on the supreme court feel about these outrageous comments?
You're right. Even though that was their battle cry in 2004 and 2006.
They sure did not react well to Obama’s threats during his SOTU address.
That being said, Barry is out there today sounding mighty cocky on Obamacare. I think Kagan has texted him that he’s won the vote.

Look, I realize that I’m probably in the minority on this. I love satire. It’s one of the things I love about Free Republic that people respond with satirical cartoons and responses to the idicocy of the left and the left wing media.
However, 99% of the articles posted on Free Republic are postings of hard news articles - people on Free Republic often post responses with satire to these hard news articles, but as I mentioned, the vast majority of posted articles themselves are not satire/fake news. Of course this is why so many people are “caught” off guard by Mr. Simmons.
I agree that the semi-news is marked, and, sometimes, I do notice it before clicking on the title, but, when I’m in a hurry, sometimes I don’t. Are you never in a hurry?
Another reason Mr. Simmons “catches” so many is because of Free Republic’s reputation as a hard news political forum. They are not expecting the posting of fake news articles.
As to your insult regarding my “lack of comprehension and reading skills”, I admit that that may be true, but I still felt compelled to give my opinion of Mr. Simmons faking people out all the time - it just seems like a waste of time.
Which reminds me, is the point of these semi-news articles to catch readers unaware and thus, have a joke at their expense because they were in a hurry and didn’t happen to notice the by-line under the title, or, is the point to make fun of the idiots on the left? I guess Mr. Simmons point could be to do both, but I would rather spend my time just making fun of the left.
Speaking of making fun of the left, I certainly appreciate and enjoy that, but what I don’t appreciate is raising the hackles of conservative readers needlessly with a “ha, ha aren’t you’re stupid” when they discover they’ve been “had” again with these fake news stories.
As to Mr. Simmons blog - why does he not keep his fake news articles to his blog rather than posting them on Free Republic? Is this because he doesn’t get very many visitors to his blog?
I realize that people post vanity pieces on FR all the time, but when they do, they at least note that it is in the title. Mr. Simmons doesn’t do that.
This isn’t a big deal and my wife thinks I just need to “lighten’ up”, and, she’s probably right. Mr. Simmons has just as much right to post anything he wants as any other Free Republic member. All the same, it still annoys me. Just saying.
It may be satire, but with the things we’ve seen/heard from the Dems over the past few years this could just as easily be factual.
re: “As to your insult regarding my lack of comprehension and reading skills, I admit that that may be true,. . .”
Just proved your remarks about my lack of comprehension since I kept mispelling Mr. Semmens name as “Simmons”. Guess I’m the moron of the day.
However, 99% of the articles posted on Free Republic are postings of hard news articles - people on Free Republic often post responses with satire to these hard news articles, but as I mentioned, the vast majority of posted articles themselves are not satire/fake news.
The subject post was posted in "Bloggers & Personal." FR provided a means for conservative writers to post here. What you will find is conservative writers and bloggers that actually do something for the conservative cause will post while other "conservatives" that do little, other than criticize, mock and attack and do what they can to drive the poster from the site.
The ironey is that a majority of posts here are posted from liberal sites. Material that links back to the liberal site, generating traffic and ad revenue for liberals that pay nothing to FR. All the while... conservatives who pay FR, link their sites and original content to FR are harrassed until they leave or are banned!
Quarterly fundraising used to take three to four weeks. This one will take 15 threads and end about the last week of May or first week of June.
I agree that the semi-news is marked, and, sometimes, I do notice it before clicking on the title, but, when Im in a hurry, sometimes I dont. Are you never in a hurry?
Of course! But John caught me twice. If it pisses me off, I immediately go back and check. In all fairness though, I've never blamed John for my failings.
...it just seems like a waste of time.
And yet it provoked you enough to respond!
Which reminds me, is the point of these semi-news articles to catch readers unaware and thus, have a joke at their expense because they were in a hurry and didnt happen to notice the by-line under the title, or, is the point to make fun of the idiots on the left? I guess Mr. Simmons point could be to do both, but I would rather spend my time just making fun of the left.
So, instead of making fun of the left... what did you do?
This isnt a big deal and my wife thinks I just need to lighten up, and, shes probably right. Mr. Simmons has just as much right to post anything he wants as any other Free Republic member. All the same, it still annoys me. Just saying.
You are blessed with an intelligent wife!
It’s parody. But when Semmens does parody, what he writes is often what is in the thought bubbles over democrats’ heads. I have no doubt Kerry and other progressives are having lots of thoughts like this in private. But they haven’t voiced it in public . . . yet.
You know, I forgot what I had for lunch yesterday, so I can see how someone would forget something as inconsequential as serving in a war in another country. It was a long time ago.
John’s posts are pretty easy to sniff out - there’s always one thing in there that is so over the top, it causes you to look up and see - Yep Semi-Satire from AZConservative. Then you chuckle and move on. Each time when I read the first line, I am composing a post in my head and after the second or third tidbit, I know this is one of John’s satires. This is like Rush Limbaugh using the absurd to demonstrate the absurd. And this one is pretty damned believable given the crap coming from the White Hut...
