Just for the record. The copy of XP OEM that you bought is still illegal. The only legal use of an OEM license is that it must come from the Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM).

He is the OEM. He's repairing and recycling hardware that was broken by Windows 7. Got it? End of story.

There is actually a cheaper license available for people that repurpose. I’m really not trying to be a smart ass, I have just spent a good deal of time understanding MS licensing. I am not an expert, but I do know the rules for OEM.
