Has Kagan or another liberal Justice leaked SCOTUS Friday Obamacare vote to Obama?

President Obama has taken a very risky course if the Supreme Court voted Friday to uphold Obamacare. If he believed that were true, he would likely have said he has confidence in the judgement of the Supreme Court Justices. If he were unsure, he would also tread lightly. Instead, he fired a verbal barrage at the Court.

US President Barack Obama on Monday challenged the "unelected" Supreme Court not to take the "extraordinary" and "unprecedented" step of overturning his landmark health reform law.

In a highly combative salvo on a case which could have a critical impact on his reelection chances, Obama warned that health care for millions of people was at stake, even as nine Supreme Court justices deliberate the arguments.

"Ultimately, I am confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress," Obama said.

The US Supreme Court held compelling legal arguments on the health reform law, the centerpiece of Obama's political legacy, last week, amid a flurry of commentary predicting the law will ruled unconstitutional.

Obama noted that for years, conservatives had been arguing that the "unelected" Supreme Court should not adopt an activist approach by making rather than interpreting law, and held up the health legislation as an example. Read more here...
Justices rarely change their opinion after the initial vote, but it does happen. Justice Kennedy has been known to switch sides on major cases after the initial opinions are written.  President Obama may be hoping to pressure him to do so again. If he doesn't, President Obama has laid the groundwork for using this to motivate his base this November. It looks like he has been tipped off and the news wasn't good for him. If Obama was tipped off, many would suspect Kagan who was Obama's Solicitor General and an Obamacare supporter before her SCOTUS appointment.

an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law

Does Obama think that the Court has never overturned a law before? They've just been rubber-stamping everything for 200+ years?

It was probably Elana Kagan, since she should have recused herself since she was a cheerleader for ObamadoesntCare Law when it passed, and was starting the defense as Solicitor General when she got nominated to be SCOTUS justice #9.
It could be all 4 of the justices since I think they would do this.

it’s no longer mentioned how he bribed Senators to pass that law, with the Louisiana Purchase, and the Cornhusker Kickback, and that fish bribe in the Sunshine State?

I agree.

If the word was that it had passed, he’d be all spouting about how we have been fortunate for all these years to follow the wisdom of the SC.

Sounds like it has failed and he’s rallying the troops...

I also expect that if it gets struck down, the votes will add up to 8, because Kagen, realizing her vote would not change the balance, recuses herself before the final determination. A purely political move designed to save her behind.

I’m kinda surprised a federal marshall hasn’t shown up at her door yet. She is PLAINLY in violation of federal law.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had the court bugged.

I wonder what "Professor" 0bama thought the Court did, or was supposed to do? The scary thing is that he espoused his philosophy to impressionable students - 0bama clones!

Read the transcripts. Scalia or Alito mentioned Cornhusker Kickbacks.

Irrelevant. There was never The One in the White House before.

Not much of an understanding of the Constitution or out entire system of judicial review from this “Constitutional law professor.”

This is why we have a rule of law of negative liberties - to keep power grabbing politicians from treading on our basic rights.

Now if Bush had told a whopper like this, the press would be all over him. A strong majority?

These people have no shame.

Obama warned that health care for millions of people was at stake

Healthcare for 300 million people already is at stake for the benefit of the so-called 50 million people who don't have it. This law wasn't written with the intent of making healthcare affordable for EVERYONE.

Strong majority of Congress??

It was thr most contentious vote in the last fifty years done through bribes while tens of thousands of Americans protested outside.

Another good summary article:

Timing is everything. Obama’s threats to the court only started AFTER they had made their preliminary ruling on Friday. It’s obvious that he waited for the ruling, not wanting to interfere with a possible positive result (from his viewpoint). But once it the ruling went the other way, it became time to start to ‘influence’ the court.

Don’t be surprised if one of the conservatives has an ‘accident’ or his son or grand son goes ‘missing’.

The college Constitution professor is DEAD WRONG on the Constitution. The scenario he describes is not reality. Bribes to Congressional members, parliamentary parlor tricks, and one body “deeming” that the other passed bills are not what the framers had in mind. He obviously didn't study the concept of “checks and balances”, or dismissed it along with his disdain of the Constitution as a “charter of negative liberties”. This guy is evil, anti-American, and treasonous.
