Conservatives, Republicans: Fire, Aim, Ready!

Conservatives are at it again: shooting our own.

When Conservatives decide not to vote for Republican candidates, Republicans lose. Conservatives lose. The Democrats, socialists, and atheists win. Obama wins.

Where Republicans voted in 2008, we won new offices. Where they voted in 2010, we won majorities. Conservatives made the difference in the winning races and in the lost races. Not only did we have fewer Republican victories in those races where Conservatives didn't vote, the races were decided by the least knowledgeable among us or by the Dems.

More than before, in conservative blogs and forums, I'm reading good men and women declare that they will never vote for Romney if he's nominated. They remind me that they were the ones who refused to vote for John McCain in 2008, or who (like me) voted for Sarah Palin and McCain just benefited as a side effect.

I certainly wish that Conservatives had found themselves working hard to force McCain to keep his promises for that last three years instead of watching Obama keep his.

And here come the third party rallies!

The problem is certainly the "GOP elite," and their support for Romney -- that's why Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum couldn't get a foothold, right? And why Newt Gingrich is still so far behind?

How many votes do you suppose the "elite" have, anyway?

Talk about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, yesterday, Rush Limbaugh warned Conservatives what may happen if the Republican nominee doesn't win. Yes, he titled the post of the segment "A Warning to the Republican Establishment," ending with a prediction that the Republican Party might never recover if "they screw this up."

The warning to the rest of us is ignored:

If this doesn't pan out to big-time electoral victory the way the establishment has it figured, then what will their excuse be? And I think I know. I think that if this campaign goes on and if it results in Obama winning, I think what the establishment is going to do is blame us. They're gonna blame us conservatives for once again being too rigid and too demanding and too narrow and unrealistic and all this, and telling us that we're the reason that Obama won.

Why not? That's exactly what happened in '06 and '08. (And don't forget Rush's own Chaos.) The media and the Left ate it up! The lesson learned was that no one can count on Conservatives. That's why we repeatedly watch people who should be our champions "pander" (Rush's word) to the "middle," the "undecideds," the independents.

Why not learn instead from successes, like the 2000 election, a victory that the Dems never saw coming? A good friend recommended that I re-read David Horowitz' "How to Beat the Democrats." One of the lessons is,

Lesson 3: There Is No Natural Conservative Majority (But You Can Create One through Political Action). The critical role Republican unity played in the election leads to a third lesson: There is no “natural” conservative majority.
. . . Such facts are no cause for conservatives to despair. What they are is a reality-check. If the conservative mission is to restore basic American values, the way conservatives fight the political battle will determine its outcome. There may be no current conservative majority in America, but there is a potential majority, if Republicans have the will and intelligence to create one.
David Horowitz (2002-10-06). How to Beat the Democrats and Other Subversive Ideas (Kindle Locations 842-843, 861-863). Spence. Kindle Edition.

Do we have the will? The intelligence? Can we forget the animosity we have had for each other the last year? Are we willing to say, "Let him who never had a change of heart cast the first stone?"

An estimated 56% - give or take - of the Republican National delegates have been decided, but 44% have not. The numbers aren't set in stone, yet, depending on what happens to the delegates who went to candidates that dropped out or in States like Iowa, where the actual choice will be made at caucus in June. "It ain't over till it's over."

I'm sure that I won't see Conservative blogs pulling their anti-Romney posts, but I hope to see a few willing to be positive and work together to ensure Primary victories for the remaining Conservative in the Republican Primary, in order to deny Romney an easy nomination. Is their motto, "Anybody but Romney," or is it, "Anybody but Obama?"

Both.

Look fork. I know you just showed up, and imediatly got your panties in a wad over some remark not directed to you, but please...

Inform yourself first before hitting send. It will make you look so much better intead of foolish.

Look at the replies for instance. Me and many others do not agree with voting for RINO’s simply because a RINO is better than Obama.

“Unpopular to who?? You or the owner of this site?”

I’ll spare you the embarrassment of pinging Jim to this reply. Ping him yourself if you want to. Ask him if he agrees with “very unpopular ‘Repubs First’ ideas.”

But I’m guessing you won’t do that. I’m guessing you already know what he thinks.

I agree. My husband and I have been going back and forth between Santorum and Gingrich. At least now we don’t have to choose (-— and I’ve finally quit wishing for Rick Perry to be on the ballot).

Doc, common ground is hard to find if the electorate decides that if the candidate doesn't think or say exactly the things that benefit me, Than I won't vote for him. Sorta like union thugs that will walk out on strike over a minor issue jeopardizing the well being of it's members. It's all or nothing with some folks.

“...finding common ground.”???

Fiding common ground? On a contentious FR thread like this. I’d so much rather fight with eastforker.

Why mess with tradition.

Thanks for the ping. For the record, I have not said that Lightworker Hussein or Bishop Willard are demons, although I do think they are wholly owned subsidiaries. Chattel assets, essentially.

I think this analogy is what you are referring to:

##########################

Conservative: “I can’t stand Baal. He is a demon, and I have higher standards than that. Further, it is my duty to resist hell itself, and to defeat it where I can. We all have that duty.”

Party Peon: “A vote against Baal is a vote for Abaddon!!!”

Stunned Conservative. “Uh . . . No. I do not vote for demons. I am not voting for either of them.”

Party Peon: “YES YOU ARE! A VOTE AGAINST BAAL IS A VOTE FOR ABADDON! VOTE FOR BAAL BECAUSE HE IS BETTER THAN ABADDON! IF YOU DO NOT VOTE FOR BAAL IT IS BECAUSE YOU SECRETLY WORSHIP ABADDON AND WANT TO SEE HIM IN CHARGE!”

Stunned Conservative: “Dude, they are BOTH DEMONS! Either of them will make this place hell on earth! I don’t want either one in charge. I -HATE- demons and will not choose either one!”

Party Peon: “YES YOU HAVE YOU TRAITOR! YOU’RE VOTING FOR ABADDON IF YOU WON’T VOTE FOR BAAL! I WOULD VOTE FOR LUCIFER HIMSELF TO DEFEAT ABADDON, AS NOTHING EVER EVER EVER EVER COULD POSSIBLY BE WORSE THAN ABADDON!”

Stunned Conservative: “Dolt. Abaddon, Baal and Lucifer are all on the same team. They are each diabolical and I will not aid, assist or support any of them. They are DEMONS.”

Party Peon: “You are a bigot.”

###############################

This was an effort to communicate how repugnant and unacceptable a capitulation candidate, not a ‘compromise’ candidate is. The effort seems to have failed. I can’t figure out how to make it more clear, and perhaps there is a refusal to understand.

I was inspired by some Romney supporter who expressed a willingness to vote for Satan himself, because ‘nothing could be worse than Obama’.

Heh. Really?

Anyway, I have this on good authority:
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Being one who does fear, you will not see kneeling at the tophet on the left, or kneeling on the tophet to the right. Both are branch offices of Hell.

This election is a test for all Americans. I am not falling for the trick question. My answer is: (C.) None of the above.

Jim and I went round and around yesterday, one on one, so don’t think I am timid or cowardly! As far as popular ideas go, I have found about 2-1 in favor of romney over obama in general, even if they have to hold their nose. It is evident you are playing favor for status, not very becoming at all for you.

lolol. Now that’s funny. I don’t know how many rounds you’ve gone through against Jim, but I’ll match you 2 to 1 with my issues I’ve had with management throughout the years.

No way am I gonna ping Jim now. To do what? Rule who he likes the least? Me or you?

lololol

Here’s the history of Presidential votes. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781450.html

How did we get voters out in 2000 and 2004? How can we get them out in 2012?

Like most people on this board, I don’t think we can break records for Republicans if Romney is the candidate. On the other hand, the Dems can’t count on the wave for Obama, either.

Nevertheless, I’m asking for Conservatives to fight *for* Conservatives where they can, not *against* anyone but Obama and the Dems.

If it were easy, the Dems would do it.

So you believe that McCain would have given us 2 worse Supremes than Obama? And worse foreign policy? Seriously?

I was hoping someone would speak up about that before I had to.

We’ve had some bad blood over Santorum, so I was expecting that if I did, it’d have turned into a bloodbath.

Another from Mama: You can’t change what the other guy does, only what you do.

And Mama is absolutely correct! When it was clear that, no matter what I said or did, nothing was going to change, I altered my course accordingly.

“You obviously have conservatives confused with Republicans. Lately that is not the same thing.”

I’m a Federalist, not a conservative. I vote Republican because one of only two candidates in the general election is going to win. I don’t give a rip what you call yourself, if you vote other than the Repub, you are re-electing Obama.

An old democrat saying: “You vote for the party, not for the man” That is exactly how Obama got elected in 2008, clinton in ‘92 and carter in ‘76. We the pubs didn’t vote the party in them years, we didn’t vote for the party, we decided not to vote for our man.

Time for the Tea Party to become the next Conservative Party.

My hope is for a mass migration of Tea Partiers to the Constitution Party and dump the Whigs.

Would McCain’s Attorney General go out of his way to undermine the Defense of Marriage Act? Refuse to defend it in Court? Would he tell the Military to give out same-sex marriage benefits regardless of the law?

How would a McCain AG have looked at the Black Panther case, or any of a dozen State laws on immigration?

Would McCain have issued Executive Orders that overturned all of Bush’s pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-conscience regulations on January 21, 2009?

Does anyone seriously believe that even Romney would have done any of these?

I’m calling for a Conservative coalition, from this point forward.

I am too... in a different party. The rust is too deep in the GOP... its long past time to start fresh.

The nominee with the highest level profile is Virgil Goode. “Virgil Goode 2012” and there’s a wealth of background and voting data.
