Who Says Obama Will Obey the Supreme Court?
Capitalism Magazine ^ | 4-14-12 | Michael J Hurd

President Obama is reportedly shifting millions of dollars to the IRS to begin enforcement of ObamaCare.

This raises the obvious question: What if the Supreme Court strikes down ObamaCare, with a decision expected no later than early June?

Anyone who witnessed the passage of this legislation, as well as Obama’s term in office to date, should realize that question is irrelevant.

Obama and House Speaker (at the time) Nancy Pelosi vowed to “deem” the bill passed if they couldn’t muster up enough votes in Congress, as they ultimately did.

Obama ran on a platform of “transforming” America, and he meant it. Even he knows a government cannot shape a society into exactly what he wants the people to be. But he sure can use the force of government to try.

And this is precisely what he intends to do.

"Perhaps the most interesting moment of all will come if the Supreme Court upholds ObamaCare and the open fascism upon which it’s based. What will the American people do, then? Obama has just begun his quest to transform America through socialism, fascism and the absolutism of the state over the individual. Sooner or later, it will be up to Americans themselves to decide how much transformation they will tolerate."

Isn't that the $64 question.

Not to worry, the Founding Fathers, in their near infinite wisdom, anticipated the possibility of future tyrants when they installed a fail-safe mechanism in the US Constitution...

...it's called the 2nd Amendment and if the US Congress fails to impeach and then remove from office any president guilty of such a blatant high crime as an unconstitutional and premeditated refusal to respect the constitutionally enumerated powers of our highest court, that fail-safe mechanism must and WILL be initiated!

Yeah, well; that's fine

Of course, you are assuming that this regime will respect 2A any more than it has the rest of the Constitution.
No matter how we slice it, these are going to be interesting times.

Well, yes; and Obama has been busily transforming the US military. I think it is now an open question if the military would fire on the US citizenry. Give Obama a little more time, a second term for instance, and the military will shoot US citizens who fight Obama. The Regime will make it look pretty, label it fighting domestic terrorism, etc., but it will happen.

“Interesting Times”

As in the old Chinese curse?

The real question will be if Obama has put in enough of his Leftist henchmen in key positions of power to allow him to get away with what would be, for all intents and purposes, an act of high treason against the United States should he blow of a clear and final judgment of the SCOTUS.

The 2nd Amendment was put there as a final action against tyranny and it may never come to that...

...just nice to have it there if we need it.

Obama will transform into a real life Queen of Hearts,

“Off with their Heads!”

I would speculate just what or why he is in doing in South America, land of organized kidnapping.

Isn't that the $64 question.

Due to inflation since Obama came to office, we now must consider the "$72.32 question."

Until it is overturned, I will expect the Supreme Court to uphold obamacare.

And that is precisely the point on which Obama is vastly different then Romney. They may be headed toward the same cliff, but would have a substantially different impact on moving the military away from the constitution. Romney has deep and significant flaws, but he does not have a history emulating crack pot dictators.

“......it’s called the 2nd Amendment and if the US Congress fails to impeach...”

You do realize that we have an entire military of battle-hardened, house to house combat trained soldiers in the US and more coming back from war theatres?

One can say that they will not follow this administration’s orders, but I wouldn’t bank on that.

Nothing is an accident with those in power.

Sadly, we might be shocked when the verdict on 0bamascare. I’m afraid the Supreme Court will buckle under to the usurper like all the other crooked judges. Take notes. This is how dictators are made, even in “the land of the free”.

Any guess why Homeland Security ordered 2,717 of these vehicles the beginning of the year? I'm sure it's all for the good of the people since it has "RESCUE" stenciled on the side. Besides, a couple of those would look so cool parked next to one of DHS's recently ordered bulletproof checkpoint booths.

Oh, but he does. Just more slowly. He's more of a Fabian, whereas Obama is a Maoist.

“...if the military would fire on the US citizenry.”
That question has been answered several times...Kent State, US military WWI veterans in 1920’s who wanted the promised benefits.

Even after serving 7 years of active duty, I am not sure the US military would not fire on civilians. IMHO.

Some will obey, some will not. Some will obey at first and then change to disobedience later as the effects of their obedience sink in. It will get very messy and confused. It will be the administration who will have the most to worry about as to the effects of such a situation.

It will make the split in the armed forces just prior to the Civil War look like a cotillion.

Kent State was raw National Guard troops, and The Bonus Marchers weren’t fired upon (they were tear gassed and forced away at bayonet point).

The one thing that keeps me from believing our own soldiers would blindly obey orders to subjigate their own people is the fact that they treat foreigners well (how many threads on freerepublic were devoted to pictures of our boys making friends with the Iraqis and Afghans?), so I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t do the same with their own people.

Also, keep in mind that even Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union had to create special paramilitary units to police the civilian population, as the regular military disdained such duties.
