Skip to comments.New Gallup Poll: The Obama Effect Is Wearing Off (Bowing, Begging for Forgiveness, etc, Days Over)

In the heady days of 2008, starry-eyed pundits predicted that the election of Barack Obama would lead to a complete rehabilitation of Americas image in the world. President Obamas Nobel Peace Prize, less than a year into his first term, reinforced this narrative.
Three plus years later, that shiny new president smell is gone, and the flashy new car as a few nicks and dents. A new Gallup poll finds that the Obama bounce in foreign views of American has lost momentum and in some countries, (in Africa and Latin America and in a number of European countries) has fallen significantly. Overall, confidence in the US fell 13 pionts in three years to 40 percent in Latin America. international community is nearly universally losing confidence in Americas leadership.
Another Gallup poll suggests a way for America to improve its image. For the first time since Obamas election, America has lost its position as the most respected major power, losing out to Germany, which now enjoys an approval rating of 47 percent to Americas 46. Much of Germanys surge in popularity is attributable to its strong economic performance during the Euro crisis. Here we see how a balanced budget is more than just smart fiscal policy; it can also be a component of a nations soft power. A strong economy and a well-ordered budget are signs of strength, and they often earn the respect of those living under fiscally and economically dysfunctional regimes. Americas soft power could get a boost if other countries believed that our finances were sound.
Unfortunately, they arent. Fixing this problem should be the presidents first priority regardless of who wins the next election. Wealth, success and a solid financial foundation have a lot to do with how people regard you.

Americans are a gullible lot, in general and in particular, our Cockroach-in-Chief the quintessential manifestation of the utter naivety the American people are capable of.
In the heady days of 2008, starry-eyed pundits predicted that the election of Barack Obama would lead to a complete rehabilitation of Americas image in the world.
We didn't, never cared about image because when the principles that guide the USA are based on the US Constitution and insight of America's forefathers our image has always spoken for itself, ourselves. Ergo, if you don't subscribe to those very principles, if you don't respect the principles that have made us great, if you don't believe in the US Constitution, despise it, despise America, how in God's name are you going to rehabilitate it? Not by obsequious bowing, apologizing, *ss-kissing, I guarantee you that.
Complete rehabilitation, you say? Quite the contrary, Obama has been an utter catastrophic embarrassment to us, our prestige, image in the world, not even talking about what he has done to us domestically, economically, all aspects of the American experience, existence.
The sheen is off the turd.
All of that Muzzie bowing to Muzzies stuff was especially ineffective.
Well stated Ibryce. The Obama effect is "cataclysmic": ( A violent upheaval that causes great destruction or brings about a fundamental change)
LOL!! The SOB hadn't even taken office yet!
Eventually you run out of enemies to blame. Anyone has an updated Obama enemies list? If not, here’s the start of one, using only groups that Obama has specifically spoken against, during his time in office:
-Religious people (Bitter clingers...)
-Gun owners (Bitter clingers...)
-Chrysler bond holders
-Free market proponents
-Corporations who treasure political speach
-Practicing Catholics and Christians in general
-Allies of the United States
I’m sure I missed a lot. Feel free to continue. Based on all-encompassing nature of the above list, I think it would be easier to list the people who are NOT on Obama’s enemies list:
-All government unions
-Blacks (except when it’s a choice between teachers’ unions and poor black students going to DC charter schools) - not the entrepreneurial ones, the ones that go on, and stay on welfare
I forgot a big part of the Obama Enemies List:
-George W. Bush
-The Supreme Court
-Arizona legislature and governor
-South Carolina legislature and governor
Replace by a smoked-in, stale-pizza smell.
Uh, you forgot the most important enemy: FREE REPUBLIC!
We must not insult stale pizza by comparing it to Obama.
Heh, I remember when the Rats were calling for Bush to resign in December 2008 so that Obama could be inaugurated early, as well as demanding a repeal of the 22nd Amendment so that the One could serve forever.
Hopefully, this will be their faces in Nov., same as the loss of their Olympic Bid...
BTW all the crying faces have been scrubbed...
Breaking News (to CNN): “All Black People are NOT STUPID!”
Some of them are capable of spotting a dumbass when they see one- even if the dumbass is “one of them”
I think this poll was about Obambi’s image among foreigners.
Now it seems that foreigners know even what we conservatives have known all along: his philosophy blows.
You forgot, Stanley Ann’s Mother.
That’s a good list. I will try to fit some of that into a tagline.....well, foo, the tagline is too limited but I got some of it in.
I don’t think that Americans are that gullible. Every election is an imperfect choice. McCain promised more of Bush. Bush had made many poor choices and in rejecting McCain Americans were refuting those policies.
At the same time they didn’t get a clear picture of Obama. I was in DC during the run up to the election and people didn’t get what I meant by saying he was the radical end of a Cook County Democrat. Normally logical and thoughtful people would rave about the fakir Obama with his magical promises of Hope and Change. The media utterly failed to vet Obama. It is the number one duty of a free press - bring forth the truth for good or ill.
Thankfully it’s over and long live Breitbart.
You also forgot:
The State of Texas
You can fit it into your tagline easily:
“Obama blames everyone and everything but himself.”
