Vanity - I miss Bush
Me

Posted on 04/27/2012 6:40:25 AM PDT by trebb

Just saw a FOX newscast showing President Bush doing the bike ride with wounded vets. The interviewer on site mentioned it was a way of being inspirational to them and others. We all know how Obummer would have jumped on it to say how he was really into being inspitational, and would have turned it into a major "I/Me" barf alert. But, being the humble, military loving and respecting person he is, President Bush merely said, "I get inspiration from them". He then turned away and got on with the task at hand - riding with and respecting our military heroes.

God how I miss, despite the liberal social issues, how he brought class and decorum to the Presidency.

Obama is the natural result of Bush

I believe that Bush is a good person, but you are right about Obama being the natural result of Bush.

Many people had Bush fatigue. The lib's were tired of the two expensive and seemingly endless wars started under Bush. Conservatives were dispirited by the squishy "compassionate conservatism."

Of course, there were other reasons Obama won (MSM duplicity, etc), but Bush fatigue played a big part.

Notice that there was no Reagan fatigue after he left office. The elder Bush won the next election.

Bush is no real conservative, and his insiders know it. He played us.

Bush's spending was criminal. A 'Big Government' conservative.

Bush made some great big errors, especially near the end of his last term. That said, he is a good and decent person. Obama is not.

Heh. Bush? Obama makes me miss Clinton. SnakeDoc

Hell - take it to the real conclusion; Obama makes a lot of us miss Carter.

My real point was the difference in having/not having some class and loving/respecting the Nation and it's warriors.

I acknowledge President Bushes faults, and his role in setting us up for an Obama, but I will give respectful credit where it is due. I can't begin to imagine what would have gone down if Obama or another "liberal" had been in office on 911. The way it's going, we may find out to our further detriment. I truly fear that large quantities of brass and lead are our only hope of remaining free. If/when Obama decides something requires martial law, the first action will be to disarm us to free him for his real objectives. Che's blood brother occupies the WH and the sheep graze on.

I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have a first couple I’m not sickeningly ashamed of. I don’t like Laura Bush’s abortion stance, and I got a bit tired of her frozen expression, but I’d take her in a minute over the gargantuan, third-worldish, rump-shaking Godzilla we have now.

The only people who think Obama is the "natural result" of Bush are either don't understand politics, prefer their own little political fantasy-land, or are projecting their dislike of Bush's policies onto "justifying" Obama's existence.

So people dislike the notion of "compassionate conservatism." Not a problem. If you don't want to see it return, say why and others may listen. If you run around blaming it for Obama, sunspots, and ATM fees then you will get tuned out.

“gargantuan, third-worldish, rump-shaking Godzilla”...

I almost spit out a mouthful of coffee at that one. :-) Hilarious!

Clinton? Obama makes me miss Carter. There hasn’t been a worse president than Obama in my lifetime (except perhaps LBJ, but I don’t remember much from those years).

Nevermind the billions of dollars and lives lost to create an ungrateful Islamic republic(Iraq) that uses it new found freedom to persecute the Christian minority.

Obama is the natural result of Bush and Rove and..the MSM's hatred of him.
They shirked their duty, showed their a$$ by simply mouthing the dim's ridiculous statements and finding fault where none lay.
I.E..'worst economy since the Depression' while unemployment was 5%.

They never had a 'fact check' moment on the dims. Just use it on repubs.
The MSM controls what the masses hear and they have an agenda.

I wasn't enamored with Bush primarily his refusal to fight for his agenda.
He had good ideas concerning SS, Fanny Mae overhauls but allowed the libs and MSM demagogue them . Had he gone to the people as Reagan did he may have been able to salvage them.

Bush’s “compassionate conservatism” gave us open borders. That was bad enough. But it also gave us a larger federal deficit. And worse, it also gave us “nation-building” in Iraq and Afganistan. All are expensive failures.

Carter’s policies made the election of Reagan easier. Bush’s policies made the election of Obama easier. Not inevitable, just easier.
