CLEVELAND, Ohio The caller to the police in Sanford, Florida, made his suspicions clear.
Hes got his hands in his waistband, George Zimmerman says, before adding, and hes a black male.
A few moments later, Zimmermans encounter with teenager Trayvon Martin, who was not armed, would leave Martin dead of a gunshot wound.
Its a shooting that sparked nationwide protests after Zimmerman was not initially arrested.
He has now been charged, and maintains he acted in self-defense.
But the story has opened up new conversations about race in America.
Those conversations, though, are often vague and rarely personal.
At FOX 8, we wanted to change that.
So this week, we will present a series of intimate conversations with some of our own people about the role of race in their lives.
It will be unlike much of what you ever see on television news.
I just remember being so very scared, Wayne Dawson says, recalling the sounds of race riots outside his home when he was a child in Clevelands Glenville neighborhood.
I was thinking that a bullet was going to come flying through my window, said Dawson.
We will explore fear, and shock that can lead to anger.
Our Jennifer Jordan recalls walking into a bar to meet friends in another city, and hearing someone shout to her, Youre not welcome here, because she is African-American.
If you think these conversations will be full of angry rants, youll be surprised.
Look for the humanity in people, Kenny Crumpton says, and I think people will be surprised how much everybody has in common.
It doesnt matter what color you are, Wayne Dawson says, has nothing to do with anything. You can still achieve what you want to achieve.
My parents always taught me, Do not judge a person by the color of their skin, Jennifer Jordan says.
Melissa Reid recalls being taunted in school because she was Asian, and wanting to look like everyone else.
Now, she says, as a journalist, I think the unusual and the different is a lot of times where you find the most amazing stories.
And meteorologist Angelica Campos recalls first experiencing discrimination when her family moved from Costa Rica to Atlanta.
But she says her family loves America for all the opportunities it has presented them, adding the discrimination is not enough to kill a dream.
Dreams, hopes, fears, and ultimately, the power of believing in yourself and in many others who help you along the way.
We call these conversations simply, Race: Our Stories.
They will air all next week on FOX 8 News.
Journalism disappeared in the 1970s. Talking heads are what we have left today.
In a war one lies for one’s side.
If one’s enemy states a fact that contradicts one’s lie the enemy is a liar.
Saying that truth is the first casualty of war is an incomplete statement—the continuous murdering of veracity for the duration is a vital strategy if one wants to win—especially if one is the bad guy.
This early stage of Obama’s race war is no exception to the axiom above.
“In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” ~Winston Churchill
Is there a transcript of the calls that night?
Every damn time I read something about this case it seems what was said that night changes!
The actual recording was up for a long time, and that quote is deliberately misleading at best. Zimmerman was asked by the emergency dispatcher about the race of the suspicious guy. Not including this fact is deliberately misleading by the presstitutes. NBC has fired two or three for editing down the tapes in their presentation of this, due to the backlash.
No no NO. I read the transcript! George Zimmerman said, and I quote:
"You know what, dispatcher? I hope you aren't one of dem dere N****RS, cuz I feel like killin' me a N****R today. See, I'm lily white, and we whites, why, we like killin' us some N****RS by and by. Why, I'm looking for a chance to kill me a N****R today! Let me see what the bag limit is! This N****R ain't provokin' me in any way, but the Stand Your Ground law, the most evil law ever devised, makes it legal for me to kill that N****R!"
It's a fact, "journolist". Look it up.
Well, that’s the NBC version, at least.
First, they lie about the nature of the transcript. Then the bigger lie that all non-whites are innocent victims of racism.
They spin a fantasy world where nonwhites huddle in their homes decrying all racism, except when they are out being hunted and killed by the evil whites.
Meanwhile, in reality we see all races out there having the times of their lives, whites in fact fear blacks, billions of dollars flow to minorities, and somehow blacks emerge from their supposed oppression often enough to commit the vast majority of crimes against whites and blacks.
Race riots sell newsapers.
Wasn’t it Randolph Hearst who started the Spanish -American War?
Yellow journalism is nothing new, and Hearst’s little war made him a fortune.
The journalists have a receptive audience, one that has been ready to riot for years and is just looking for an excuse. The old stories of free TV sets and new suits told by the rioters of 68 to today’s kids makes them want to find out about the freebies and feel the excitement.
I believe we will see some rioting before this summer is over, the journalists sure hope so.
From his bio:
Bill is proud to have been a recipient of the duPont-Columbia Silver Baton -- broadcast journalism's equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize. He has won four first-place National Headliner Awards and has been a finalist for a national Emmy and an Investigative Reporters and Editors Award. He has also been honored with numerous regional Emmys, as well as a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
You don't win those awards without being a progressive/marxist hack.

That’s a collection of the actual 911 calls, unedited. It lasts about 35 minutes. It begins with the call from George Zimmerman.
It is not my own URL. IIRC it belongs to the Sanford Police Department. I think it was originally posted at http://www.sanfordfl.gov/police/ in the media section, along with other related files.

If you read carefully, after the previous comments about Trayvon looking around and acting suspicious and probably being black, this part comes up when Martin turns and walks towards him. The comment about him being a black male is pretty clearly part of a general description, confirming what he'd assumed earlier and describing clothing, etc.
Zimmerman is the sacrificial lamb in a lynching.
I've never read the whole thing.
The MSM definitely sucks.
It was disgusting and disturbing.
They are not uninformed. They are liars.
The dispatcher asked if the individual was “black, white or hispanic,” and Mr. Zimmerman’s initial answer to the question was tentative, that he “looks” black. He was not sure at that point.
Only when the young man approached Mr. Zimmerman’s vehicle did he make the definite statement, “He is a black male.” He was clarifying his earlier tentative answer to the dispatcher’s request for a description.
[[Trayvon Martin, who was not armed,]]
Apparently using a deadly weapon- in this case, the sidewalk, with which to bash george zimmerman’s head in with, isn’t concidered beign ‘armed’
