Posted on 05/20/2012 10:46:54 AM PDT by John Semmens
The revelation that a promotional brochure produced in 1991 by Barack Obamas literary agency touting his Kenyan birth was called just a marketing gimmick by Press Secretary Jay Carney.
The president was trying to persuade a publisher to give him a book deal, Carney explained. Naturally, he wanted to make the sale, so the fact that he embellished his resume shouldnt come as a big surprise to anyone. Come on, making yourself look bigger and better than you really are is standard procedure if you hope to survive in our competitive culture. I mean, is there anyone who hasnt lied under similar circumstances?
To those that might harbor suspicions that the reported Kenyan birth could be true, Carney suggested that even if it were, I think the point is moot. The president has shown that he is fully capable of handling the job. Any deficiencies he may have had on paper have been more than offset by his on-the-job performance for the last three years. Besides, I think the statute of limitations on the whole natural born citizen issue has expired.
if you missed any of this week's other semi-news posts you can find them at...
So that person who wrote the promotional brochure is being called a liar by Carney. They are lying now (a fact-checking oversight claim) or they lied then. Either way he is calling them a liar. Moreover obama was willing to allow that lie stand for crass commmericial gain....that is to deceive the book-buying public....So Obama sanctions lying and is confirmed by Carney.
So in other words he has no qualms about lying about where he was born to get a job.
a marketing gimmick would be to say he was born in Alaska, clearly because very few liberals are born there
Same could be said with the faked US BC. It’s just a marketing gimmick to get all the free vacations he and Moochelle want and a way to line his pockets with tax dollars.
Deja vu all over again John. Quit pimping your blog please.
Every article John posts is in it’s entirety. The option to read different subjects is available. I think John is very clever in many of his observations. He is sharing more than “pimping”.
BTW, many FReepers enjoy his humor.
Might as well tell TSG and Rush to quit pimping as well.
It is not Obama’s marketing gimmicks that we should worry about, but the fact that he occupies a position in government that allows him to sell the entire country down the river without any opposition from Congress — at least not from this Congress.
John has long been FR community approved and he posts his musings in their entirety, which is rule #1.
Another good one John.
About three years ago, former Obama press secretary Robert Gibbs when -
“asked why the issue of Mr. Obama’s birthplace keeps coming up he replied: “Because for $15 you can get an internet address and say whatever you want. “
Fake but accurate or is it inaccurate and not fake or fake and total BS?
I’ll take the latter for $1,000 Alex.
When truth is stranger than satire.
Now wait just a minute! Didn't "girlfriend" Genevieve Cook supposedly write nearly the exact same thing? I read through the Vanity Fair article but couldn't find it. I thought I had read Cook saying this in the FR threads. Can someone find it, please?
Business International was also known to be a front company for the CIA.
Yes, and the recent “news” as to the improving economy is too.
That boyzngrlz is why the Constitution is dead, dead, dead. Now we only have to prove to be capable(barf) and it doesnt matter what or who we were.
The president was trying to persuade a publisher to give him a book deal,
So the Mother effer committed fraud to get a book deal?
Is that OK Carnnuts? You commit fraud?
And there are people on this specific site that would rather see this C sucker be re-elected?
So I’ve heard.
My tin foil hat was whispering, “more faked composites, more faked composties” between Cook and the BI woman.
It’s at least dishonest and unethical if not fraud to sell your book under false pretenses...no different than me claiming I had a degree from the Sorbonne, worked as an engineer at NASA or claiming I was married to Morgan Fairchild.
huh? It’s “bigger and better” to have been born in Kenya? What?
