Fellow Freepers, please pray for a young mother named Debra. Three days ago she suffered placental abruption in her 32nd week of pregnancy. The baby, a little girl, was delivered by c-section and is doing well, but mom is critically ill due to blood loss and organ failure.
Much of this occurred due to some terrible mistakes made in the small town hospital where she delivered her baby, but she has since been flown to an excellent hospital in a nearby city.
She has had her blood replaced 3 times over, has had multiple surgeries, lost 90% of her intestines, is on dialysis, and is facing more surgery in the next few days.
She and her husband have another little girl (4) in addition to the new baby. The grandparents are friends of ours and go to our church.
Please pray! It is a matter of life and death.

Yes, MEG, people in our church have already volunteered to help, and Debra and her husband have family support nearby, too.
What God has done is truly miraculous! I can’t tell you how many times during the first couple of weeks everyone thought Debra was not going to survive, and how touched I was by the outpouring of concern and support from Freepers.
I am so grateful for your kind church members..God bless them.
It sounded like Debra was near death..I am so grateful to God and her medical providers that she can be with her baby soon..I pray she can get a kidney transplant.

Update on Debra, and I’m afraid it is not good. Please pray again!
Over the past year plus since the tragic circumstances surrounding the birth of Debra’s baby, she has had more than 30 surgeries. She is on dialysis and has a colostomy. For the third time, the doctors attempted to re-connect her intestines, and I think something must have gone terribly wrong.
Debra’s family has once again asked for prayer, not saying exactly what is wrong, but that it is serious. Debra has been very weak since the birth of her baby, has lost a great deal of weight, and her mother and father-in-law have been caring for her baby, who is 1 now and doing just fine.
Please pray for Debra and her family. They have been through so much, and their medical expenses are astronomical. They are receiving help from family, friends, and fundraisers, and I think they probably won a suit against the doctor, but Debra’s medical issues don’t quit.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers when I first posted this story, and I hope you will continue to pray. Sometimes I wonder how some families bear up under so many burdens, and I pray that God will strengthen them and bring healing to Debra.

May Debra surrender completely to the salvation You have offered through Your son Jesus Christ.
May she surrender to Your divine healing, letting go of all worry, fear or apprehension, trusting You completely.
May all her caregivers, relatives and friends be convicted with Your deep, abiding peace;
so that every word and thought of Debra is calm, simple, clear and resonant with Your pure love and infinite wisdom;
a balm to her soul, to their hearts, and to her precious child.
