(The White House) -- Over the past three years, we’ve been clawing our way back from the worst economic crisis of our lifetimes. And we know it will take longer than any of us would like to fully recover all the jobs and savings that have been lost. But there are things we can do — right now — to help put people back to work and make life a little easier for middle-class families. For months, I’ve been pushing Congress to help us along by passing common-sense policies that would make a difference.
Democrats and Republicans have already done some important work together — like passing a tax cut that’s allowing working Americans to keep more of their paycheck every week.
But Congress has refused to act on most of the other ideas in my jobs plan that economists say could put a million more Americans back to work. There’s no excuse for inaction.

Zillions of dollars have already long since been allocated for those “shovel ready jobs” that NEVER materialized, as he told us, laughing in our faces, a while back.
NOW, he wants zillions more? For what?! So he can laugh in our silly faces again?
That would exceed his level of competence, intellectually and physically. Obama needs make-work more suited to his effeminate, mentally challenged nature, something like reading flashing road signs. He could pretend they are teleprompters.
You know...if that 5 trillion dollars or more that they pissed away on the bank bail outs and Obama’s crony capitalist frieds had been used for infrastructure repairs instead, then I wouldn’t be quite so sore about it. The roads, bridges, wires, harbor projects, and pipelines would have paid dividends in terms of their effects on the private economy over time as well as putting folks to work(even if some projects were given to sucky unions). But no, all that money just seems to have just vanished... and the rotting bridges are still time bombs waiting to collapse!
He’s recycling his Jan. ‘09 porkulus speech about the “shovel-ready jobs” that would fix all our infrastructure for a mere $880 Billion tax dollars. If the Congress did not pass it, unemployment would soar to 8%. The rest is the history of the rotten Obamaconomy.
According to him, all infrastructure repairs should be directed from DC, paid for by borrowed money, hire union-only labor. It’s consistent with his position that the private economy is basically doing fine, and that the reason GDP is down is that we don’t have enough hiring of government drones to tell us what to do.
I can’t stand this guy. He is in a dangerously powerful position, in league with delusional people, and isn’t “from around here” in terms of his instincts and actions. I can’t stand his wife, either. We need them to go away, them and their little dog, too, hahhahah!
Only 4% of the 800 billion stimulus package went to “infrastructure” repair. The lion’s share of it went to an extension of unemployment benefits and other giveaways and plugging state deficit holes so that states would forbear from immediately laying off public sector workers such as teachers that they would have otherwise laid off.The administration counted them as jobs saved when indeed they were only saved for a year or two until the money ran out.Now he is talking of burying this nation with “high” speed rail debt to guarantee a lifetime of ongoing government spending on subsidies to maintain it. No thanks to “infrastructure” repairs.
