This article is just stupid. Bankruptcy courts are NOT part of the administration. Blaming every ill in America on Obama damages the cause of defeating Obama in November, because it makes his opponents look like a bunch of kooks

Bankruptcy courts are NOT part of the administration.
The Bankruptcy Court Trustee works for the Department of Justice (Eric Holder). And DOJ is the most politically driven of all departments in the Federal Government, so although it may not have anything to do with Obama directly, his Attorney General is responsible for this action.

I would like to establish, if possible, who appointed this trustee. Can a line be connected between any administration and the trustee?
There are too many questions here to blame it on Obama- yet. Could be an overzealous or greedy attorney. Could plain old stupidity on the court and trustee, or they could be ordered by the administration to go after anyone with money to tax.
I sincerely doubt the any administration would want the PR nightmare of attacking a hero at the end of his days.

I wonder how far behind he is and how much he owes.
I’d be willing to send him a few bucks—anyone want to join me?

I agree. Federal bureaucracies are so large now noone in Washington can control them anymore - unless someone actually makes a phone call about a specific issue. But I think these type of employees are probably judged by the number of lives they destroy and are just doing what they think will move them up the food chain.

I still think this is a stretch. If we prevented every vet from bankruptcy, and the impacts that come with it, no vet could get a mortgage.
I feel for the guy, but this is no grand conspiracy.

Horrific brutality is being done by the Obama Administrations U.S. Bankruptcy Court to a cancer ridden, helpless 89 year old World War II veteran who received two bronze stars involving the incredible rescue of 2,000 U.S. Prisoners of War from vicious Japanese guards at the Los Banos Internment Camp in Luzon, Philippines in 1945. (1) There's a recent movie- a good one- about this operation. It's called 'The Great Raid'.

Different operation entirely. "The Great Raid", which is indeed a very good movie, is about the Rangers and other forces (both US and Filipino) that rescued about 500 POWs at the Cabanatuan prison camp before the larger Los Banos raid (which was led by the Parachute Infantry, not the Ranger).
To: tanknetter
I had a brother-in-arms, now deceased, who was part of the 11th Airborne who participated in this rescue.
I’m curious how many vets have commented negatively to this article.

OK, so the hero asks for bankruptcy discharge, lies about his holdings and then squawks when he is caught?
And these bankruptcy trustees are bankruptcy trustees for years on end.
His own attorney quit, so he either wasn’t paid or didn’t agree with lying. You have to ask the court’s permission to quit, you can’t just quit.
So why weren’t the wife’s medical bills covered? No insurance? Didn’t register for Medicare?
How about some straight talk on this thing. Yes, there have been war heros that are crooked as a three dollar bill when it comes to finances.

Bankruptcy trustees are private attorneys that are appointed to their position by the U.S. Trustee for the federal district court within which they serve. That being said, U.S. Trustees do not control how individual bankruptcy trustees handle particular cases. As a result, it is more than a stretch to say that the Obama administration is responsible for how this veteran is being treated in bankruptcy court.
Additionally, it should be noted that bankruptcy trustees have a fiduciary duty to estate creditors to maximize returns to them from debtor property. So the bankruptcy trustee may be acting overzealously in this case but there is almost no chance that she is doing it at the behest of the Obama administration.
If you are looking for strange goings-on in bankruptcy court, the MF Global bankruptcy involving Jon Corzine is a much better place to look.

Good for you, Laz...
