Contrary to the oft-repeated media narrative that the Republican Party is not inclusive, there are actually more female Republican governors than female Democratic governors, and considerably more minority Republican governors than minority Democratic governors.

Great. We’re now falling into the “diversity” trap ourselves. What should count is the competence of the governor. The GOP by far have the more competent and successful governors.

republicans would do well to make some Youtube vids - hope for a viral - that says DemocRATS think they are fun till you realize they hate smoking, hate drinking under age of 21, even for a GI, they hate slurpy, they hate french fries and pie; all they really favor is treating women badly - see Bill Maher - and then having an abortion so the man is off the hook.

I’m not sure about that. The GOP will never get ‘credit’ for it’s diversity.

But as another said, it’s a sad commentary, and proof of the Left’s general triumph, that we are trying to prove ourselves greater servants of our new official religion called Diversity.

When was the last time a Republican spoke out against racial preferences? Even though they are unpopular and are voted down when put to the people for a direct vote, the GOP has pretty much abandoned its opposition to preferences. Why is this? I can’t think of anything except that Republicans are afraid of being called names, and don’t want anyone to question their devotion to Diversity.

Years ago a liberal friend (really, that was the old days) was puzzled that I could be both conservative and open to folks from other races, lifestyles, opinions, and such.

When I explained that being conservative meant judging others by the sum of their actions, values, and abilities...not by whether or not they looked, believed, or partied the way I did; he sort of went blank.

Unfortunately, I have the feeling that there are many here on FR who would find that equally confusing.

[ I’m fine with touting diversity so long as minority governors are there because of their achievements. Many minority GOP are tougher than the white male Republicans because they have been hardened by the media’s racist attacks against them. The media won’t give he GOP credit but they can’t help the fact that they are beaming footage of women and minority Republicans. Just seeing them will change voters’ perceptions of the GOP. ]

NAILED IT!

There’s nothing wrong at looking at ethnicity as long as they are not used to advance group mentality. Republicans (& conservatives) shouldn’t concede the ethnicity issue to the MSM and Dhims by falling into the trap of talking about ethnicity=identity politics. That there are more women and minorities advanced to top tickets in the Republican Party should be used to advance the individual-achievement argument (as oppose to group achievement), shown here with these people’s achievements. People who ran under the banner of personal responsibility, not under the banner of racial division a la Obama and his fellow race-baiting Dhims.
