Agree 100%. Whether posters here care or not about anyone in the UK being offended is kind of beside the point (still a bit rude though ;-)) - Romney just hasn’t handled this flagship visit to the UK very well at all.
It’s a measure of how much his comments have annoyed the Government that the Prime Minister would then go on to publically say something along the lines of “Of course it’s easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere.” Time to drop one’s bacon sandwich!
Had to laugh an awful lot though at Ed Millipede’s “Mr Leader” - you know, the guy that may well be UK Prime Minister in a couple of years... :-)

You are thinking of the ex-mayor, Ken Livingstone, who wasnt a communist, but certainly a hardleftist.

He was up to this same business yesterday, starting in with the ‘96 Olympics, then cutting directly to his self-satisfied slurs about 9-11 and “the world’s greatest military power blindsided by 19 civilians with boltcutters.”
We also saw yesterday what he and his ilk perceive as Olympian excellence and splendor: a slapdash farce featuring the glories of national health care, Mr. Bean as the embodiment of the Empire, and finally—and so appropriately—a man in pantaloons bailing out of an airplane.

Oh, there are - they just aren’t in power at the moment. The Conservative Party is being pulled ever more to the right by its membership, which is fissioning massively BTW due to Cameron’s total lack of leadership or direction. Cameron is basically attempting to be Tony Blair, but (thankfully!) the only person that can pull that off is the man himself.

Livingstone certainly was all that, but I’m sorry - on no planet can Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson seriously be described as a “Leftist lite version”. Get past the “zoinks!” verbiage and floppy mop top and you’ll find an unabashed right-winger.
