I am certain there will be a lot of contrary opinions including mine, but a Remington 700 is still a fine rifle’

If we are talking about high powered hunting rifles my choice would probably be Winchester. It would have to be one of their models with controlled round feeding. If I was really flush with money I might go for a Sako.

But like I said, the Remington is fine.

Happy to have recently bought a Rem 20 gauge, pump action shot gun.
Contributing to the cause.

Based on my remington 22-250 model 700 which is a tack puncher, I’d highly recommend remington. Also have an ancient 22-250 model 788 which is equally impressive.

The Savage 110FP Law Enforcement or Tactical in .308 Winchester is a sleeper of a precision rifle and costs less than the Remington. I loved mine with a Choate Ultimate Sniper stock, Tasco 10x42M Super Sniper scope, A.R.M.S. No. 22M throw lever 30mm rings, Versa-Pod bipod, and Sharp Shooter Supply set trigger.

I like my 700 but the one I play with the most is a 22 pump-action fieldmaster.

I love my Remmington Nylon, probably for the same reasons.

If it shoots within 1-1/2” MOA, It’s a good rifle!

+1 on the Savage, the Accutrigger is a nice item. Have a Predator Max in .223 with the Nikon M-223 3-12 BDC.

I bought my Rem 700 ADL 243 from Foley’s new for $99.00
Last month my son bought his in 30-06 for under $400.00
Still a great deal.
Didn’t like the factory stock. Changed it. Trigger’s different now. Changed it to a Shilen.
Picked up another bbl if my son wants to swap it out too.

I just love tinkering on them there firearms.

My favorite is the Ruger M77 Mk II in .338 winchester magnum.
Then I installed a Hogue stock and it has a Trigicon scope.
This Ruger is a controlled round feed, and its stainless.
My Alaska big game light rifle, the heavy one is the Winchester 70 in .375H&H.
