Karl Rove is not always right either. But I can’t see the people of MO giving Akin a fair shake after misspeaking. They would if it were a Democrat though.
This isnt about Akin.
This is about 0bummer&TheRegimeFrom Hell.
Ignore the shiny things from the lib-dem-controlled media.
Keep focused on WINNING AT ALL COSTS ON NOV 6TH!
Nothing else counts.
Everything is at stake. Everything.
This is a TWENTY-TWO point loss in a matter of days.
I sincerely hope that Akin will change his mind now that he sees reality. Dragging this out for days or weeks is unthinkable- regardless of what Huckabee has to say.
Rove: ‘Todd Akin can recover...
There, now it’s possible.
CNN is reporting that Akin is meeting with conservative leaders in Tampa to access his campaign.
Here’s the direct link to the video you want hits for.
You really suck, did you know that?
So what? Even without MO the Dems are going to lose 4 to 8 Senate seats.
Time for the “conservative” pundits to get out of the Democrat propaganda machine divert and distract trap.
He needs to go. Now.
I hope you assess...don’t want them giving him any support.
Oops MEANT assess.
Yes lets let Rove lead us to the promise land. Disgusting.
They are going to threaten his family.
you need to go, we need to fight back. Stop being Alinskyed.
(Can I get some photo-shop help here?)
If you believe that alleged magnitude is real and permanent.
well since Akin wont quit..everyone needs to shupt up Carl and let the stroy die.
It’s over, Rover.
Maybe so, but Akin is what he is, and all that’s really up in the air here is how many more days of distraction we have to put up with before he falls on his sword.
Nothing about politics is “fair”, and when you know the media is out to get you, you have to trod extra carefully. Instead, Akin stepped in a big gooey pile of it.
If Todd Akin is “done,” it’s only because our fellow Repubs tossed him under the bus within seconds of his screw up.
You almost NEVER see the Left do that to their wounded.
Yes, yesterday’s story of the democrat congressman who was arrested giving a 17 year old a BJ at a rest stop is already forgotten yet here we are after three or four days, still shrieking and rending our garments over Akin’s comments.
Akin’s stepped on the new 3rd rail of politics - no exception abortion. Republicans want the campaign to be about money - not social issues. Ryan backpedaled quickly from explaining what he meant by ‘forcible rape’. He has only able to repeat and repeat, like Obama, “rape is rape. The issue is not, what is rape, but what is a life. I hope more suitable talking points can be found.
“You almost NEVER see the Left do that to their wounded.”
They did it to Spitzer, they did it to Weiner, they did it to Torricelli.
The left is actually much more cutthroat about when they ditch someone. There is no talk of “but he is a good guy”, or “what about his ACLU ratings.”
That’s because the left actually wants to win. Republicans think they are in a debate club and the left knows this is a street fight. Anybody who’s a liability is kicked off the curb.
More like 13 ---- not 22.
The July 30th Rasmussen poll had him up by 47 to 44.
That's reason enough for him to get out.
Of course not! It’ll get worse. With the way the left is going after this guy and considering that Obama Claire has yet to begin campaigning and the overall stupidity of what he said, Akin will be lucky if he pulls over 35% when all is said and done.
Do you think the issue of Akin will go away, if he leaves?
I say it wont.
The dem mantra is going to be whether he is there or not: see the Republicans are just as we said they were.
I would actually like ‘so called’ Republicans leaders stand up and say “yea, he missed spoke he apologized, next question. We are here to talk about the economy.”
I can’t remember the democrats ever ditching one of their own for offering an opinion.
This is total nonsense. Karl Rove is a moron, as well as a RINO, who just loves to pick losers.
If Akin is down at the moment, it’s because absolutely everyone has been stomping on him, from one end of the spectrum to another. No one has been standing up for him, or pointing out that he has been hammered by the same left-wing media hounds who almost destroyed Rush Limbaugh for calling what’s-her-name a slut. Well, she was a slut, who wanted the taxpayers to pay for all her contraceptives so she could enjoy endless sex without cost or consequences. Evidently Rush didn’t want to go through the same kind of hammering twice, so he backed off this time.
If Akin is down, it’s because absolutely NO ONE is out there defending him, as he should be defended.
you may have made a correction you like but it is delusional
Obviously you have no clue what you are talking about. Missouri is a 'swing' state. Do you understand what that means. Apparently NOT, so I will explain. The state has about equal parts liberals, conservative/republicans and independents. NOW after this episode of foot in mouth who do you think those independents are going to vote for?
Rightly or wrongly this is reality.... Have you ever seen those independents that Frank Luntz rounds up to monitor their 'heart' rates.... Independents recoil at ridicule and they race as fast as they can to the perceive safe politician.... ARE YOU GETTING the reality of Missouri elections?
What self-righteous Akin did was spook those shaking in the wind independents.... ARE you getting it yet.... without the independents there are NOT enough conservative/republicans in this state to defeat Claire.... H E L L O!!!! Pray for a miracle and stop blaming everybody but AKIN he and he alone made this mess. GOT IT YET!!!!
If my math is mistaken- so be it- these are the numbers I heard Rove and Hannity mention on the radio while I was driving home from work. The math was based on his being up 10 and now down roughly 10..equalling 20 odd points.
Still- being down even 10 is appalling given that he was going to take this seat from the detestable Claire.
I understand we have a good many FReepers who support him and believe he’s right to stick it out. I agree to disagree.
what Akin said was factually wrong AND way beyond stupid. You don’t give ammo to your enemies. Moreover, McCaskill and her PAC supported him in the primary by running ads against his other opponents. He should have been content in the house where he could hide and collect his largesse
Why is not the point, the point is that for the democrats the moment you’re a political liability, for whatever reason, you’re out. They don’t wait and they don’t mess around. Because they want to win.
That is a huge drop! If the man doesn’t drop out he is even more delusionally sick than we imagined.
Huckleberry is getting paid off by Soros inc. to screw our side. As Rush says...’don’t doubt me’....lol. He now has a track record of screwing up our nominations and elections. I have never forgiven him for giving us McCain. Can’t stand his patronizing, fake goodie goodie bipartisan crap!! Sorry for the rant.
meaning he cannot recover from the leftist attacks from his own party?
I hate the GOPe
I hope you’re not being serious.
The sad thing is that all these true believers are going to act surprised when they get exactly what they’re pushing for. Its like the DU around here lately.
They’ll try and push the issue, but it’ll really start to fall flat, if he gets out of the campaign, the brunt of their attacks loses its power, and they know it, which is why McCaskill is so eager for him to stay in, not to mention the guaranteed Senate seat if he does.
Stop being McCackled yourself.
Question: Did Rove, Hannity, Coulter, Palin, etc., support Akin before he made his booboo? Did they support him in the primary?
I’m guessing that all this consternation about Akin’s inartful comment is the chance to get rid of Akin because he won’t be controlled by the Republican establishment. The last thing the Establishment wants in the Senate is a Senator who is not afraid to say “no” to the Establishment, or who is an independent thinker.
Haven’t we all be looking for a leader who can’t be pushed around by the vested powers of the Establishment? who is not afraid to say “no” even to his potential President and Vice President?
As for losing the race in Missouri: where are the anti-abortionists going to go? Are they going to vote for the abortionist candidate because the anti-abortionist made a stupid comment?
I think you guys who are pushing for Akin to withdraw should get ready for what you are going to say when Akin comes up with a Chic-Fil-A-type response in the election. You won’t be eating chicken; you’ll be eating crow!
And professional politicians only need apply. Normal people who think they can still speak freely are toast.
But you are right -- a drop of even 13 in three weeks is not good especially if it stays at those numbers.
He said the other day that he would reevaluate his chances of winning and decide accordingly. I hope he does and makes the right decision.
It’s HUCKster who is egging this stooge on for his Ego and bad radio ratings !
That is who
was running that Tampa gig .
The most vile fraud in the GOP !
That fraud is sabatoging the GOP races !
Rove wants a RINO to take his place.
“The difference is the standard for whats a ‘political liability’ is set several magnitudes lower for our side, to the point each of our guys will need a teleprompter and a script written by The Architect himself if they are to get through any campaign.”
First of all, this is war, and in war you don’t get to complain how unfair is it the other side is better trained or have better provisions. You have to deal with the reality try to win under adverse conditions.
Secondly, it’s not that hard to not make a verbal gaffe of the magnitude that Akin did. It doesn’t take a professional politician (which Akin is), it just takes a person with a semblance of intelligence, discipline, and awareness, all of which Akin lacks. He comes from a safe conservative district and was completely unprepared for the scrutiny and spotlight of a statewide election with hostile media over his shoulder.
I believe that's a big no and another big no and no again, and certianly a no.
Huchabee is pushing the guy to stay and pushing the story for his radio show .
And to sabotage Romney who he dislike.
